I echo Carol’s review below. Avoid this place if possible. It’s a given that Harborview is an excellent trauma center. But if you’re not a trauma patient and/or you simply want to contact your surgeon with a question, good luck. Even as an established patient, it is an uphill battle. Honestly I felt like I was trying to contact a celebrity rather than someone who was overseeing my care. If you send a message to your surgeon through UW’s patient portal, you will only get a response from an assistant instructing you to call the nurse line(which no one answers). Clinic hours are sparse and limited to 1 – 2 days of the week. My surgeon was 2 – 3 hours late for every clinic appointment(yes, you read that right). I get that emergencies come up, but this was a consistent problem, not an occasional one. Had it been the other way around, I’m sure I would have charged $$ in late fees. The staff here don’t seem happy and a black cloud seems to loom over the place. Stay away.

Doctor Harrast at this clinic is terrific — responsive, timely, thoughtful and very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend him. But if you need a surgeon, I’d think twice about this clinic. When I went to the neurosurgery side of the clinic(I had surgery for a herniated disk), I had a horrible experience. They were never on time(once I waited in the room for 90 minutes with no communication and finally left since the doctor never showed up, and then it happened a second time), super unresponsive(I called twice post-surgery because I was having complications and no one ever returned my calls), and very uncommunicative(the surgeon never came and talked to me in recovery to tell me how it went — only the anesthesiologists did). I would not recommend the neurosurgery clinic at all.
