I’m from Tampa, Florida and moved to Washington in ’97. First off, Snout & Co can try to fool customers all they want by claiming that what they call a Cuban sandwich to be an authentic Cuban sandwich. Personally, when businesses try to deceive me by assuming I’m too stupid to realize I’m being misled, I find it quite insulting. The bottom line is that Snout & Co.‘s «Cuban Sandwich» is anything but authentic and in no way even closely tastes or looks like a truly authentic Cuban. In order to call a Cuban sandwich authentic, you must first use REAL Cuban bread. This is the foundation of a truly authentic Cuban sandwich. There is NO bread that even remotely comes close to resembling the taste, texture and pure delight of authentic Cuban Bread. No Cuban Bread? Not a Cuban Sandwich. It is almost impossible to make authentic Cuban bread anywhere other than in a climate or region such as Florida, specifically Ybor City, the birthplace of a true and authentic Cuban sandwich. Secondly, unlike Paseo’s fraudulent«Cuban» sandwich which uses smoked ham, the ham used in an authentic Cuban is a sweet ham and very thinly sliced as is the pork. Simply pressing a french baguette in a sandwich press, adding entirely wrong and way too many ingredients into the sandwich, and calling it a Cuban sandwich does not make it anything close to resembling a true Cuban. These taste nothing like an authentic Cuban nor does Paseo’s. I would bet money the owners of both Paseo’s and Snout & Co. either have never tasted a true cuban sandwich or have tasted maybe one or two on vacation. Why do I know this? Because what they serve customers and call whatever it is they claim to be a cuban sandwich, tells me that they were either too lazy to actually research what actually makes a cuban sandwich a cuban sandwich. In addition, once you taste an truly authentic Cuban Sandwich, you remember it for the rest of your life because it is, by a huge margin, the best sandwich you will ever taste. If you’d like to try a truly authentic Cuban sandwich, the only way to do so is to fly to Florida or the one and only Cuban bakery on the west coast located in Southern California. That’s the only way to experience the best sandwich in the world. Snout & Co. and Paseo’s are pretenders. But don’t take my word for it. Simply google«la segunda bakery» and«Columbia Restaurant in Tampa» and find out for yourself the painstaking process bakers go through to make cuban bread and the well-established and selectively minimal ingredients contained within the cuban sandwich. Then compare the difference with fraudulent Paseo’s and Snout & Co.‘s claims. There is the real deal and all others are pretenders. Below is what a true Cuban Sandwich should look like. This was taken in the birthplace of the sandwich, Ybor City, Florida.

I stopped by the food truck it was outside Chuck’s this past Friday night and the staff was so kind to me as they were closing down. Gave me some free plantains which were delish and made me smile after a long week of work. Mad respek and, more importantly, top notch pork sandwiches

In my last review I mentioned they offered Cuban food. Yesterday I visited and had the Cuban sandwich. I wasn’t impressed with the Cuban sandwich since it wasn’t really grilled. They loaded it with lots of ingredients but the taste was bland compared to the Cuban sandwiches I’ve enjoyed other places. The sandwich was also dry so I won’t be back for that sandwich again but I will be back for the BBQ pork sandwich. The honey habanero sauce is worth having. Maybe I’ll give them another chance on the Cuban food by trying the Seattle Cuban next time.

I ordered the Cuban bowl for lunch on a Wednesday in Queen Anne and it was really really good. Beans were done really well and had great flavor. The pork was tender, juicy, and delicious. Sometimes with pulled pork you can get some fatty pieces but the bowl barely had any I had to discard. The fried plantains were awesome. Their saltiness added a lot to the meal as a whole. The bowl overall had a good amount of heat and stay away from the sauce they give you if you don’t do well with spiciness. There was a ton of food in the bowl and I had a good deal leftover.

I ate at their truck about a month ago. I got the chicken sandwich… I wasn’t really paying attention when I ordered it, I was just hungry and truck was by my job. When I tell you this was the best chicken sandwich every… no lie. It had sliced apples and a spicy aioli that was delicious.

YESDUDE. My friend just got married, and genius that she is, chose Snout & Co to do the catering. It was the simplest, quickest and cheapest catering setup I’ve ever seen for a wedding. The two people who came were crazy nice, and as somebody who loves Cuban food– their grub was delicious. I’ve had to go to so many effin weddings, and I always eat some dried out food because no matter who caters the menu is always pretty whitebred and«safe».(Salmon, chicken, some sad beef, rice pilaf, slimy green beans, you know the drill). How ecstatic was I to have tostones and collard greens? Bomb pork and black beans? And that tomatillo sauce? Jesus, it was awesome. There were tons of leftovers so I could snag a second plate without people glaring daggers at me. Snout & Co, I cannot wait to find you in the city and try your Cuban sandwich.

Snout & Co. catered my wedding, and was a huge hit! Our guests could not stop raving about the food. We had another food truck since we had a wedding of 240 people, but I really think they could have served the entire crowd themselves within an hours time. The owner, Lee, is a great guy to work. I would highly reccomend them to anyone!

To preface the review, I need to disclose that 1) I’m a huge fan of pork and 2) I’m a huge fan of Cuban food. If you like neither of the aforementioned points, I recommend that you take some time to re-prioritize your life, then come back to this review. Snout & Co is my Friday staple when they’re in SLU, and nothing else can substitute for it. The Seattle Cuban is a fantastic spin on the original Cuban sandwich by adding red onions and avocado to the already awesome combination of cheese, pork, pickle, and mojo sauce. The mojo sauce is one of the better sauces I’ve had; it’s sweet from the sugar in the orange and the lime, but nicely balanced by the acidity of the two fruits and the slight bitterness of the garlic. There’s a touch of heat to the mojo sauce that intensifies the experience. I did try the collard greens, which you might be able to tell I enjoy based off of my review of Pinky’s BBQ, and these probably relegated Snout & Co. to the 4-star review. The greens weren’t cut well and were missing the bitter green flavor complimented by the salty pork and the sweet onion. I know people are advised to avoid SLU during lunch time because of the lunch rush-madness, but Snout & Co. makes dealing with the insanity worth while. Come prepared to spend $ 10 on lunch.

I was a cranky dieting bride the last time I left a review, who encountered the flustered new guy thanks to the lunch rush. Sorry guys! I’m still truly in love with your food. The Cuban sandwich does dances in my dreams. I love it when they have their Mac n cheese on special as a side. Such a perfect meal together. I was extremely pregnant 3 months ago and Lee(the owner) joked about eating some spicy cuban to get my labor going, sure enough I went into labor later that night haha. Coincidence? Hmm… not sure. A lil cuban spice never hurt anyone! Today, I returned after my 3 month hiatus and it was amazingly delicious, I had to stop myself from going back for more(Cuban Sammie and Cuban bowl FTW). I have to watch my mommy figure now! I appreciate how most of their items are compostable too. These guys are a stalking must on social media.

I ordered the Seattle Cuban. The pork in this sandwich is SODRY! The chimichurri mango sauce on the sandwich is interesting and helps add much needed moisture but doesn’t cut it. I also ordered a side of plantains which was also super dry and tasteless. I ate half of it and threw the other half away. Never going back.

Now that a certain highly rated Cuban sandwich shop is defunct, this is indisputably home to The Best Cuban in Seattle. Everything else on the menu is divine too. Sometimes I buy like 3 sandwiches and I’m sure it seems like I’m picking up food for coworkers. but actually I’m having snout&co for lunch, dinner, and tomorrow’s lunch. Judge all you want, it’s delicious. Their usual lunch rotation as of 11÷12÷14: Monday: Bellevue, Barnes and Noble Tuesday: Pioneer Square, Occidental pod Wednesday: lower Queen Anne, Denny and Elliott intersection Friday: SLU, Westlake pod Check their twitter for updates!

3 stars max. My colleagues and I went to Snout & Co for lunch. I ordered the vegetarian bowl — it was really just rice and beans with some greens. So so at best. My colleagues ordered the non vegetarian options, they were ok — plenty of meet, but the cheese was not melted. The service at the truck was fast and it was provisioned withing minutes of placing the order. I think there are better options for food truck lovers in the SLU area. The prices seem reasonable.

I had the Seattle Cuban, which was good, although they ran out of their red onion relish. The sandwich was good without it, but it probably would have been better with that relish. Not my favorite Cuban sandwich, but definitely not bad. It was a little on the small side though. The sauce that came with the sandwich was pretty good.

I had 3 of their sandwiches and there were all solid. I think my favorite is the Seattle Cuban which comes with some mango based sauce. Their normal Cuban sandwich is good too but it was pretty straightforward. Their BBQ pork sandwich is good too. I cannot recall the two choices it comes with and both options are tasty. They are usually at the SLU Denny triangle area for lunch. They accept credit cards. Not the best tasting Cuban sandwich but it’s healthier and leaner for sure.

The truck is parked in Bellevue on Mondays! I like this place’s Cuban sandwich better than Paseo’s.(My disclaimer is that I have only been to Paseo once. I was not a fan of the wait. And I walked to Gas Work park to eat the sandwich so by then I can see how greasy it was.) I had the Seattle Cuban. It was perfectly pressed. The sides are crispy. The avocado yellow and green with the purpose onion just made the entire sandwich pleasing to the eye. The fact that it was sliced diagonally and placed in the paper container in opposite direction shows that this truck cares about the presentation of its food. Just looking at the sandwich made me really happy. You do eat with your eyes first! The Cuban was also not greasy(can’t say the say the same thing about Paseo). The mojo pork was moist and flavorful. I have great admiration for places that gets its pork just right. Honestly, no sauce was needed. Overall, this was one amazing sandwich while worth the price and I can’t wait to go back.

I’m a big fan of the veggie bowl at Snout & Co. It’s packed with rice, beans, collared greens, plantains and this delicious sauce. The greens, plantains and sauce are my favorite part! Everything is so flavorful– I never knew collared greens could be so yummy! At $ 6, its a better price for portion than most food trucks– if you’re not super hungry, this is almost two lunches for me. They also do $ 3ish sides of just greens or just rice and beans.

MmmmmmmmK. This place was quite tasty. I was in town from Chicago this weekend eager to try something«non-chain» for lunch. I grabbed their special of the day(Jerk Chicken) and also the Seattle Cuban and headed out to Gasworks for my lunch. The whole experience was great. Snout and Co. was certainly a great addition to my travels in the city– good service too!

Snout & Co. has been on the streets for awhile. The first time I saw the truck was at the Mobile Food Rodeo at Interbay. It seems like a really long time ago. I have a lot of respect for trucks that have staying power, a strong fan base, and stick to the integrity of what they do. I remember a lot of long lines that day. I stood in a line for Snout that was about 50 people deep and that’s a conservative estimate. One of the reasons I like food trucks is that it’s an easily accessible way for me to try various kinds of food. That day, I tried the cuban bowl and I wasn’t a fan. I want to be clear, I think the quality was all there — it just wasn’t my thing. Suffice to say that I’ve seen Snout off and on since then. Lee and his staff are very friendly and personable. They have an interactive, as opposed to a passive online presence. As a frequent food trucker, that’s something I appreciate. I can get food anywhere. Trucks need to dazzle me a bit. I’m not a big sandwich fan, which some of you already know. That means, when I have a sandwich, it has to be good. The cuban is a sandwich worth trying. The bread, the meat, oh, you had me at meat. Not all sandwiches are nice to look at but I enjoy Snout’s presentation. I’m a big meat eater but I also eat other things. You can often find me eating vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free fare. I love living in Seattle for just this reason. Fast forward to the black bean burger. I’m not a black bean fan. At all. However, I had heard various testimonials from trusted sources and decided to jump in a few weeks ago. Wow! It’s a hearty burger that is packed with flavor and will definitely fill you up. Thumbs up.
