«Roadhouse/Honky-Tonk/Dive» located on 1st Avenue in a working man’s area. Eclectic clientele with business types sitting with the t-shirt and jeans group. Loud & boisterous but not rowdy. Friendly, attentive waitresses. The usual bar food(hamburgers, hot dogs) with chili being the main attraction. I had the chili cheese dog which was good(nice bite to the dog) but the chili was a little sweet to my taste. Being from the Midwest I’m use to beans in my chili and a little more tang. Would I return? Hell yes! If only for the vibe!

Service was great! Waitresses very friendly, but maybe need a few more, place was pretty crowded we sat outside and it seemed waitresses who also worked the bar were pretty occupied with the bar goers. Ordered Kobe dog which was pretty good but not quite worth 12.00 and chili over cornbread which was pretty flavorless I think Wendy’s chili taste better. The place has good reviews and Guy Fieri also gave it a thumbs up, maybe my taste buds are off. I am not from the area but if I was I wouldn’t return. A bit to pricey for mediocrity

This is –at least on summer weekends –an awful destination for people who are into a more sophisticated environment. The place reeks of stale spilled beer, the patrons are old silver pony tailed bikers who think they belong in a gang. And they do act tough until you poke a finger into their scrawny wrinkled necks. There is some suspicious activity with cars driving up to bikers and off immediately. Meth? They have terrible bands that can’t get a gig in Seattle that play here. Over the top yelling –not singing-yelling! and bad acoustics. I’ve had a burger on a weekday for lunch and it was indeed tasty. Weekdays at lunch great, weekends? Head for zee hills!

OMG– Amazing chili with jalapeño Mac and cheese. Visited this place around a week ago and I find myself daydreaming about that chili still once a day. That’s a little creepy, but true. It was that good!!!

Ehh. To be honest, I didn’t really see what the hype was about. We went in around lunch time on a Monday. Service was horrible. Tried to order the hot dog and was told they were out of buns and the grill guy was about to get some. So. Ordered the chili burger. Ehh. The chili isn’t very favorable. I dumped tons of hot sauce on it to no satisfaction. We ordered fries but there were never brought to us and yet we were still bilked for them– so there’s that awkward convo. There were only about three people in the place while we were there, so no real excuse. Aside from the service, the chili just didn’t do it for me. The burger was flavorless and way over cooked. We drove from the north side of Seattle just to visit and be disappointed. Parking was easy. That and the décor was on point.

As far as local music venues go, this place kicks ass! The staff is great! The sound is great as long as you let the sound guy do his job and don’t crank the volume on your amps. I love the setting. Working with Celeste to book is so easy. The food. it’s delicious chili. All kinds of chili. They have nothing vegan though so vegan friends should eat first before visiting this place unless you just order the fries.

I can’t give it 5 stars although I really want to. But it’s not because they did anything wrong, it’s just because I don’t think I got the full experience. There wasn’t any live music and the patio was closed(it’s the dead of winter, not blaming them.) Basically what I’m saying is it’s so good I have to go back. I split the chili cheese fries and corn fritters with my friend. She had been there before so suggested splitting the fries. I’m glad I split but I definitely could have finished the whole plate on my own. The chili was delicious(we got the red) not too spicy, just right! And the corn fritters with the maple bourbon sauce was out of this world.

I’ve met friends a couple times at Slim’s Last Chance in SODO area. This location is a little bit off the beaten path, kind of in between downtown and Georgetown. The crowd here seems to be a little bit from everywhere. I’m not sure if it’s the food or drink that draw people here, or maybe the nice servers. I think they’re all women? Slim’s has got great food, at least for everything I’ve tried which recently included the chili with slow cooked brisket. The drink menu seems vast and there are a lot of top shelf liquors and beers to choose from. The service is always top notch, and you don’t have to wait long to be offered another drink. I can’t give a bigger recommendation to stop and check this place out.

When we fly into Seattle 3 or 4 times a year Slims is our first stop, no matter what. My husband really enjoys the burgers, and the fries are cut fresh there and if you ask for extra crispy, they are, and are great. My husband eats burgers all across America, and gives Slims an A – …better than a B+. But the burgers are not why we rush there first chance. It’s the Turkey and White Bean Chili!!! Lets face it folks, if 2 native Texans hit the joint the minute we can… It’s totally THEBEST!!! There isn’t anything like it in all the famous TX chili’s…who would have possibly thought that the best chili I ever ate is in a wonderful funky bar in Seattle!!!

My co worker took my here the first time. I didn’t know it was«famous» so my expectations weren’t as high as some other people’s might be for a bar that serves chili. But that is what this place is a biker bar… that sells awesome chili. Great atmosphere in the afternoons. People who normally wouldn’t step foot in a place like this take each table so we sat at the the bar. So far I’ve tried all the chili’s at least once. If you aren’t ordering your chili over the Mac and Cheese you really aren’t doing it right. The grits are also a good option. The corn bread is also delicious. I order an extra side to go with my chili. They also have a variety of toppings. Everything you could want from chips and cheese to sour cream and onions. Not sure what you want just ask for the works and you get everything. Some people have mentioned that the price is steep for a single bowl of chili. I look at it as a filling meal. For $ 10 I’m not going to walk out hungry. Overall this is the best biker bar that sells chili in all of the Pacific North West.

I would have given this 5 stars a few years back but it’s still at 4. Went for lunch recently and the portion sizes have shrunk a bit from what I remember. The chili is still amazing though and the chili verde over grits is well worth a trip. Service was just fine for what we needed.

Alright, heard about this place from Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, so I stopped here as I was on my way into Seattle. I couldn’t decide on the Texas Red or the Chili Verde varieties of their«famous» chilies, so I got both! First bite of the Texas Red and I knew that was a bad choice. Smokey, harsh, and just not good. The Chili Verde was better, but thats not saying much. I was very disappointed, and couldn’t believe this place was recommended by DDD. Definitely a swing and a miss there. Lastly, worth noting that this place is a bar. Straight up. Their food is second to their alcohol, and it shows.

Awesome staff, good food, live music and all around fun place. One of the best cheeseburgers in town. Naturally the chili is great, I always get Texas Red over Mac with the works. Back yard patio is killer, better when sunny, but the addition of the pole barn style awning lets you meander outside with getting wet in the Seattle drizzle.

Who doesn’t like chili? Better yet a bar built on the love of chili is a winner! Based on what I read and heard about this place, I truly expected a memorable experience. Had it not been for Unilocal asking me to review this place, I certainly would have lived a life not even recalling the day I finally wandered in. The place was clean and despite a few slanted looks, the people were typically friendly. The heavily tattooed bartender’s service was sweet and cheerful. I was actually quite impressed with her dedication to engaging me and talking up the product. I had the Texas Red and right away wished I had garlic salt, crushed chili pepper and a host of seasoning. It had rich flavor and a bite, but the flavor although seasoned, really needed a lot of help. The server gave me two samples. The chili verde was similar to the Texas Red in that I had to shake some salt on it to wake it up, but it was better than the red. The turkey chili was amazing, however, I’m not a fan of white beans, so I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted Mikes Chili Bar in Ballard is much better chili for a much better price and in my opinion well worth the additional 15 minutes behind the wheel. Slim’s isn’t a chili bar, it’s a bar with chili on the menu. Originally I gave this two stars, but the chili was below average, overpriced and under seasoned, then someone from the bar mailed me to name call, so I’m taking a star away for being a bad sport. The best part of this experience was the server, but she alone was not enough for me to return. Turns out Slims 1st chance was his last chance also.

This place was recommended to me by some buddy’s today and they way the described the food, I had to go… Today! The reaturant itself looks like someones mancave and it give this place alot of character. There is hust enough but not too much flare on the walls. Pretty cool vibe kind of a «divesturant»(I just made that up). The service was top notch, even though this was first visit I felt like a regular. The wait staff were very friendly and personable and they knew the menu top to bottom. The Menu: Simple staples with many moving parts. Staples include Chilli delicious, glorious chilli! In about 4 varieties that you van incorporate into to other dishes. I had the chilli burger which was an open faced toasted bun with one of their signature chillies spread over it. It was delicious and filling. Slim’s also has a good selection of beers and mixed drinks, not so many that its overwhelming but enough to snob if you wanted too. Overall I recommend this joint, I will definitely go back the next time I’m in town.

The food was great(if a little expensive) 3 chilis, wings, & fries to go $ 65.00 The texas red was really really good but not spicy. The wings were great but not a lot of them. Might want to order 2. Also had a PBR while we were waiting and it hit the spot…

Every couple trips to the area for work I always seem to end up here at least once during that week. Food is always good, the drinks are cold, and the girls working here are always smiling. They have a stage for bands both inside the bar and outside on the side of the building.

Yummy, not healthy food! :D Turkey Chili is so good! Crawfish PoBoy is Amaaazzing and spicy! Fries with the fry sauce is tasty! Drinks are strong, and service is great! I have been here 3 times in the past few months, and definitely expect to go back. One thing that hindered my 5 star rating… a friend had her dog with her, and they wouldn’t allow him inside. When I arrived at the restaurant, I went out back to the patio seating area, only to observe a dog and its owner eating and having lunch. If you are going to allow/not allow pets, please be consistent. :)

Nice restaurant. Saw this on DD&D and thought we’d check it out. Of course, I ordered the Texas Red Chili(with«the works» added) and jalapeño mac and cheese. We were not disappointed! Biker type of bar, in a light industrial, blue collar part of town. Not a fake dive bar-the real deal. I really liked this place and would love to come back at night. During lunch, they play 80s Rock. There is a stage for live music, which I assume is used nights and weekends. Check it out people!

Saw this place years ago on DDD and it took me a long time to find a time to get to the area. What was I thinking and why did I wait so long? Service. meh. Waitress was efficient but friendly wasn’t in her vocabulary. I got a bowl of the red and my friend ordered the chili cheese burger. Both were amazing! Wish we had tried the mac n cheese since the table next to us were raving about it. Just means another trip. Basic, but great chili and that’s why we are here!

For me, my favorite chili place in Seattle. Nothing better than a Manny’s to wash it down! They mostly have Georgetown beers on tap which is a huge plus. I have never strayed from the Texas red, which I find hearty and comforting. For extra you can get the works which gets you all the toppings you could imagine. I really like the décor, it’s fun, nostalgic and charming in a way. I have brought both my parents and they love it. Sometimes the themey bars are cheesy and obnoxious but this one suits me just fine. The service is always great even when they are busy. The gals aren’t bad too look at either, they mostly have that pinup look which is super cute. One downside though is last time I was here I got a Bloody Mary which was way too salty and spicy. I watered it down with extra tomato juice water and it was still too much. I would say that it was presented very nicely but I will probably stick to beer next time.

So me and wifey are big chili fans and on our way to Seattle we went on the prowl for some bomb chili and oh did we find it. No kids please, its 21 and over, theres a full bar there too. The ambience was a cross between a punk/biker bar, totally cool atmosphere. I ordered the red been chili with cheese and it was super good! Wifey order the green chili and she enjoyed her meal as well. Its about a 15 minute drive from downtown Seattle, street parking only so you may have to drive around the block a few times, we didn’t have an issue with that. The server was very friendly and checked up on us a few times, we drink a lot of water with our meals so always need a refill. I’d definitely go back, if your a chili fan and are in Seattle its worth a visit.

Walk thru the door of this Georgetown joint and you are immediately transplanted to a roadhouse Biker bar. Minus the bikers… I am in search of Seattles best wings and this place is rumored to be a contender… I’ve ordered a batch… Well done. And I await the response to my call. «Where the hell can an east coaster get a dozen respectable wings in the west»? Where my friends? Where??? It seems… Here. These wings are smoked. Then fried. This is the golden process which fully cooks the wings prior to being fried. Leaving the business of frying to make these buggers perfectly crispy without the need for breading or batter. There is a spice rub all up in there and the wing sauce is spicy without being overly vinegary. They have mastered my favorite of favorites… And after devouring an order… Then picking out every last morsel from the bone pile… I ordered a second order. I was reassured by the bartendress that she would not judge me… But she will most likely charge me. Sold! Do not miss this bastion of wing perfection my Unilocaling friends… Do not be fooled by imitations and do not settle for straight from the freezer poultry to plate. Do what the rest of seattle is doing legally. And smoke those wings people!!! This place is a gem, a diamond in the rough as far as wings are concerned… I doubt I will ever leave room in my belly for a portion of anything else here… They ARE that good!!!
