Just had lunch at this place, the food was OK, nothing special but the service was no where near good. We didn’t even gotten a refill for our water the whole time we were there. After we paid, she stopped us and asked for a better tip, and says this is their policy. Are you kidding me?! Good tips are based on your service. Will not go back to this place again… P.S the bathroom is very dirty.

My absolutely favorite Chinese restaurant. Their food is mostly authentic and tasty. The price is reasonable as well. I love their fish filet and ma Lo tofu.

My favorite Chinese in Seattle(so far). I love the giant menu which makes ordering totally overwhelming but reminds me of the authentic family-run Szechuan restaurant I worked at in high school. Green onion pancakes, hand shaved dan dan noodles with pork, deep-fried chicken szechuan style, and twice cooked pork are some of my favorite dishes here. Yummy and satisfying. The place is a little creepy from the outside as you have to walk up a dirty staircase in the small shopping center to get up to the restaurant. The staff is also not super friendly but I expect and weirdly appreciate that in a place like this. Go with a group so you can try lots of dishes! They’ve got big round tables with lazy susans that make it a fun place to go with friends or family. Haven’t tried hot pot here as there are other places more known for it nearby.

First time here and the service was wonderful. Out of all the Chinese restaurants I’ve been to around the Puget sound, this one has been the best one I’ve experienced. The food is very authentic, and the portions were great. The spicy pepper potato, Mongolian beef, and kumin lamb skin was tasteful and quite delicious. If you’re looking for authentic Chinese food, great service, and good portions, I’d recommend taking your family and friends here.

The good is that this was the best bowl of dan dan noodle I’ve had in the entire city hands down. And, I didn’t even get the hand shaved noodles because they ran out. And my entire meal was very reasonably priced. The green onion pancakes were crispy and the sauce was perfect. The spicy wontons were good but I wish the meat had a bit more flavor. All in all the food was worthy of 5 stars. And now, the bad. The parking is a mess here. The downstairs parking garage closed off its exit so that people entering and exiting are forced to go through a one-lane entrance. It’s confusing and I’m glad I went there when things weren’t as busy because it could have been dangerous too. Second, it’s upstairs. So you either wait for a slow elevator or just walk to the end and walk up the stairs. Third, the service was horrendous. There were multiple open tables when they asked me to take a number and wait. Which is fine but even when they finally did call my number and give me a table, they kept running around like chickens with their heads cut off and taking orders haphazardly as if it was their first time. Which wouldn’t have been a problem except that I sat there with my menu closed for a long time waiting for someone to notice me while they went about and got orders from other diners who had gotten seated after me. It wasn’t until I stopped one of the waitresses that she finally took my order. It was just a total mess and made me realize why they had empty tables and a line of people waiting to be seated. If they could get more competent workers I’m sure they can increase the amount of money that they make here.

Highly recommend this place if you love(or want to try) authentic Szechuan cuisine! NOT recommended if you JUST want«hot pot.» It’s like ordering pasta at a famous deep dish pizza joint in Chicago — this isn’t the place for that! My fiancé and I have been wanting to visit Seven Stars Pepper for a while. We have a Chinese friend who rated Szechuan cuisine as his favorite type of Chinese food, so needless to say we were very excited to give it a try for dinner one night. Once we were seated, our kind waiter noticed we were a bit overwhelmed from all the dishes on their expansive menu. Similar to other traditional Chinese restaurants, the menu featured appetizers, chicken, pork, vegetable and beef-based dishes, soups, noodle dishes, rice dishes, little hot pots and more. He proposed a number of their signature dishes for the«traditional Szechuan cuisine experience.» Things he recommended included: Szechuan dandan noodles with minced pork — hand shaved noodles, doughy and cooked in savory peanut-butter/sesame and chili oil sauce(my favorite) Szechuan spare rib little hot pot — sweet ribs in a fragrantly delicious sauce, served in a hot pot with a tealight below Chong Qin Hot Chicken plate — an glorified version of chicken nuggets, served with sautéed green beans and red chilis(though the dish isn’t very spicy) Green onion pancake with dipping sauce Fried chicken in garlic sauce We came hungry so we ordered the first four dishes named above. Their portion sizes are HUGE — we were very impressed. The savory scents just emanated from each dish as it was brought to us – it was so refreshing to try foods and flavors from another culture. Even the complimentary kimchi was delicious. The food came out amazingly fast and, by the end of our meal, my mind and belly were both full with newfound appreciation for this cuisine. And considering everything we bought and all the leftovers we got to take home, we only payed around $ 40! Not bad for all that food. We’re definitely coming back soon!

This seven star lie has got me thinking that these people don’t even want my money. The view could be more ratchet to soot my straight out of Compton taste but that’s not on them. I can’t even describe the food since I have been sitting for twenty minutes without so much as a water oh well maybe check back in 45 minutes

Sorry 7 star but your quality and consistency has really gone down hill. I always order pickled vegetable fish soup which when done right is amazing but this last visit it was so spicy we couldn’t even eat it. Another time the flavor was bland. Next item I like is Chong Qing chicken, I buy this everywhere I can. This last visit the pieces were more batter and oil than chicken. Last item is service; service was great but there were only 2 employees working the floor for 40+ patrons. This is a plan for disaster.

We usually go with a group of 8 – 10 people around a large table — and the big draw is the Szechuan crab. Favorite dishes include: — Szechuan crab(whole Dungeness crab in chiles and pepper with peanuts) — Ginger crab(whole Dungeness crab) — Hot pepper lamb(makes your lips tingle — spicy and delicious) — House special fried rice — Dry cooked green beans — Scallion pancakes — Spicy garlic eggplant — Dan-Dan noodles — Bok choi with black mushrooms — Ma Pa tofu The staff is friendly, the food spicy(at least what we order), and we always have a good evening there. BTW, there is parking both in the plaza in front of the restaurant and in the garage underneath(entrance in the plaza). The restaurant is on the 2nd floor. We don’t go often(about once per year for a special occasion), but we always enjoy it when we do.

Wanted to have hotpot so we hauled the family out to Chinatown. Parking was a little weird, very limited but doable. We actually went in and sat down at the wrong restaurant because the sign is a little misleading. The restaurant is actually on the 2nd floor so we took the elevator up which didn’t have a pleasant smell. But anyway, onto my food review!!! We decided to go with hotpot option #2 which was about $ 19 per person for AYCE. It was the beef and lamb option that comes with tofu, Napa cabbage, bean sprouts, udon noodles, string glass noodles, fungus mushroom and potatoes. We opted for the half spicy/non spicy hotpot and also ordered green beans in chilli oil and a beef tendon dish. Everything tasted amazing! I thought Din Tai Fung green beans were amazing, these green beans were better! The beef tendon: Delectable! And the hotpot, both broths were very tasteful. I definitely recommend these dishes! We will definitely be back for more and to try more dishes!

Seven Star Pepper is a place for good ambiance, efficient service, friendly staff, very good chef resulting into an overall good dining experience for Sichuan food, perhaps the best Sichuan place in International District. Lunch or dinner, for most part we have been happy with quality of food. Sichuan eggplant, deep fried fish, Kung pao dishes, pea vine greens, string beans, ma pao tofu, hot and sour soup, beef broccoli are few of many dishes to write hoe about. Even after 10+ years we keep going back there for comfort food.

No. Just no. Wanting to try out a new place we stumbled upon Seven Stars solely based on reviews. First off… parking was dreadful that day and it’s in kinda an «interesting» area if you will. Upon coming up to the strip mall where it was located we didn’t realize you had to take a creepy elevator up to the top to enter. Yup… no biggie. We were seated promptly… given water and tea. The one star is for the nice staff. Had I given it some more thought I likely should have gone with ordering Hot Pot or dan dan noodles like everyone raves about but solely wasn’t in the mood. Rather, we ordered their family style dinner assuming it was the best bang for your buck at around $ 15/person. First off… they ran out of hot and sour soup… I was like«oh no! that’s sad!» and the guy said they would make a new batch. Huzzah! However, it LOOKED like hot and sour… but there was nothing hot or sour about it. It was as if they handed us brown egg flower. Hot oil and pepper didn’t even help the flavor on that one. Next, our egg rolls and cream cheese puffs came out. One for each of us. They were soggy and flavorless. Cold noodles… these literally made me gag. The lady actually tossed them at our table which was interesting. It looked like a glob of weird peanut butter and hot oil sitting a top some noodles. It was so salty and thick with gross peanut sauce I gagged. Yeah… sorry don’t order those. The szechaun beef was the saving grace. It actually had tender meat and a decent flavor to it. This was all I ate. The so-called mandarin chicken tasted like honey and overly sweet… not like mandarins. Although it wasn’t overly expensive we were quite disappointed in the overall flavor and the fact we spent money on horrible tasting food. I’m not one to complain unless it’s for something totally outlandish. So rather we just pouted and vowed not to return.

I’ve been here a couple times and I think it’s pretty good! I wouldn’t necessary get the hand shaven noodles because it isn’t really my taste. It’s not that spicy and it’s a bit too soy-saucy for my liking. However I love the fish in hot black bean sauce. It’s pretty spicy and the fish tastes super fresh. It’s super good. Rice + fish + cilantro is just the absolute perfect bite. I always ask for cilantro on the side. Overall this isn’t the best Sichuan place I’ve been to but it’s pretty good. I would definitely give it a try. The service is excellent and it has a decently clean vibe to the place.

Disgusting… I am normally not one that will blast a place, but I ordered the Mongolian need, Kung pap chicken and pork fried rice and it tasted awful. I love Chinese food and am not picky but this was gross I’m sorry, $ 40 down the drain.

We ordered deep fried fish with string beans and I originally ordered chow mein but the server came back and said they were out of crispy noodles for the chow mein but suggested something else. I didn’t really know what she said but I agreed since she said it was really good. The amount of fish was plentiful and it was really good. But after 6 pieces of the fish it started to taste really salty. It had a weird after taste like they put too much MSG or something. The noodle dish that she gave was hand shaven noodles with seafood and mushrooms. It had a thick sauce over it and it tasted really bland. I tried to put black pepper and soy sauce over with but it wasn’t helping at all. Overall we wouldn’t come here again. The atmosphere was ok and our server was really nice. But I guess our taste buds aren’t accustomed to szechuanese cuisine.

I don’t think they need any more reviews to validate their deliciousness, but why not. We got a bunch of things that were delicious, but if you are going to Seven Stars Pepper, absolutely get the boiled fish with hot sauce. It’s a really unfortunate name for an amazing dish. The hot sauce consists of Szechuan peppers that numb your tongue in just the right way, and you keep wanting more and more. I’ll be back.

NOTE: The restaurant is on the second floor. The sign is above a different restaurant at street level. At 7pm on a Saturday the place was full, but the line wasn’t long. Our party of 3 was seated in about 15 minutes. They started us right away with a pot of tea and a plate of something similar to Kim chi, only better. We ordered the fish hot pot and the stir fried string beans. The food arrived quickly. Both dishes were spicy, but the spice didn’t drown out the flavors. The string beans were served hot, and cooked to the point where the beans are softened but still have a bit of crunch. The hot pot was a fine kettle of fish(tilapia, exclusively) in a delicious broth with chili oil and vegetables — enough food for 4 hungry adults. It was served with white rice. The whole meal was very satisfying, and pretty affordable at $ 29 before tip. The menu is extensive, and we will return to explore it.

Went there last week with family and ordered Mongolian beef was awesome, friendly service, smiled and greeted us when we walked in. One problem I have is the hallway Filled with smoke ashes, boxes of trash by the door, dirty and smelled of old ash trays left by stairs which lead to front door. Highly recommend cleaning up trash and no smoking in front of business especially near entrance. 25 feet? Don’t get me wrong, I love your food. I will be back to see some improvements.

Let me start by saying, If you’re hoping for P.F. Chang’s.save us all from your awful reviews about the food being cooked in chili oil. or the place being in the middle of the International District, and just go to P.F. Chang’s! However, if you’re looking for authentic Szechuan cuisine at an incredibly reasonable price, this Is DEFINITELY the right place! The servers and owners are friendly and very helpful in navigating the extensive menu. The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection! There’s something here for everybody, whether it’s chicken, beef, fish, or vegetables. The ambiance is really casual, none of that turn tables quickly business. If you want the servers attention, you just need to look towards the til and they’ll be with you in a flash. Other than that they’ll only stop by to refill water, and leave you to enjoy your meal. I’ve been coming here for nearly a decade and don’t have enough great things to say about the place! P. S. I’ve been told by the man friend that if I don’t mention the Dan Dan noodles with pork, that we would no longer be on speaking terms(p.s. If you’re allergic to peanuts, steer clear of the Dan Dan). Other than the Dan Dan noodles, we love the Cumin Lamb, Chong Qing Chicken, Sliced Pickled Cucumbers, Twice Cooked Pork, and the Deep Fried Fish with String Bean.

Tip for online orders. Although the website offers two options, one for«Pickup» and the other for«Express Dine In», all online orders will be treated as pickup/takeout. Misleading but oh well, the food is good. The waitresses let me know you can call to pre-order for express dine in.

— dan dan noodles are amazing — dry cooked string beans: loved the sharp saltiness combined with the spice — fish + tofu: yum — sliced pickled cucumber: having one cold dish made this a great complement to the rest of the meal wish the dishes were spicier. i barely sense any numbing spice. compared to Spiced in bellevue, where i remember my tongue being completely numbed out.

SOLID Szechuanese cuisine. Actually, my GO-TO szechuanese food in Seattle. Its a bit oily, but they make great dishes. Good greens, Awesome hand-sliced noodle dishes and my fave dish(watercooked fish = fish boiled in spicy szechuan sauce) is SOOOGOOD here. Probably my favortie in Seattle. They start of meal chinese-style kimchi is pretty good too, but dont be fooled by the non-redness, its quite spicy. I’m salivating just thinking about the spicy goodness My only issue was that the hotpot ain’t the best. Meat is sliced super thick and very chewy. I didn’t have a good experience with that, and neither did my teeth. Otherwise, good service, and a great place for friday-night-real-chinese-food-chinese-take-out!

If you are near Chinatown, sometimes it can be difficult to get Americanized Chinese food. Now who in their right mind would want ‘fake’ Chinese food when authentic Chinese food is available? Someone who knows that compromise is key in a relationship haha We had the hot and sour soup, mongolian beef, moo shoo pork(sp?), hand shaved noodles with pork, sesame chicken, and garlic pea vines. Everything was pretty tasty and had good ‘wok hea’ which means that they had enough BTUs to get a good sear on the dishes. I am a pretty big eater and the portion sizes are fairly generous. We even had enough leftovers for a few meals afterwards and they were still tasty. One minor gripe was that they didn’t have the thinner moo shoo wrappers, but the taste was on point. As a point of reference, I’d say it compares to Yea’s Wok’s Americanized Chinese dishes. Prices are similar, but perhaps a dollar or two cheaper. Tip: Don’t park in the lot unless it’s at night or fairly empty, the drivers are terrible. There is a lot across the street at Welcome Plaza that you should use.
