Seattle Talent

I started with Seattle Talent in January 2022. In July 2022 I was selected to participate in the next IMTA LA for January 2023. They provided excellent training, immense support and an experience of a lifetime at the IMTA event!! I am now in the middle of callbacks at home and still more thrilled than I could have ever imagined!! I am signing with agents and cannot wait to see what the path looks like going forward!! Thank you, Hank, Megan, Sharif, Robert and Michael!! You are all absolutely amazing!! Because of this program and all you do for us, I can see a very successful future in this exciting career!!

Seattle Talent has some good people working there. They are easy to work with and accommodating. We easily negotiated a new contract and it was an easy process to work through with the team.
They are expensive. Huge upfront costs with no guarantee on work. Photos were extremely over priced and other than a funny white elephant gift, provided no use. Work is very limited coming through them.

Don’t use this company. They will tell lie after lie to you and you’re children just to steal your money. They lied to my kids that actors on tv hung out at the studio on weekends and had them begging to try it. I reported them to BBB but they just told more lies to get away with keeping our money. Please!!! don’t trust them to get you or your kids anywhere. It is a SCAM. They really need a zero or negative star choice on here.

I have been working with Seattle Talent for the last 4 years. With their help they have signed me with Wilhelmina New York and Dubai, Next LA, and TCM in Seattle. They have given me opportunities to work with Nordstrom,
, Cosmopolitan, New York designer Jason Wu, Americans next top model designer Michael Cinco, and many other fashion opportunities. Seattle talent is also known as JRP. They have been honest with me at all times. They have never promised me anything and have always given me the pros and cons from every situation. They will take you seriously when you take them seriously. This isn’t a hobby it’s a career. I have also given back by going to many auditions to share my experiences and answer parents questions and concerns. Never do I hear them promise to anyone anything. They do express that they will try as much as you… if you are ready to have a serious career in the entertainment business then they are a great fit. They are respectful, caring, and very strategic with what they do with you. The further you trust in them the further your career will go.

Just got back from their annual, «looking for talent». If you are willing to fork over thousands of dollars, drop everything at a drop of dime, and pay all of your own expenses for travel… pay your own air fair, hotel, food, ect… to places. Then this is the place for you. In my personal opinion, there are other ways of doing business in this profession and I prefer not pay thousands to an organization without checking out other options first. I will not go back.

The one star is not for whether or not they can make my child a «star». It’s for the very uncomfortable moment when I found out they talked to my 13 yr old daughter, got all her information, and set up an «audition» for her for the next day without ever talking to a parent.
That’s right — they set up an appointment with a minor-​aged child without permission from a parent or guardian.
Call me overprotective, but I am not happy about that. That screams of bad business practice and telling me as a parent that I cannot trust them to be completely upfront with me, or with my child.

Great business model and professional
environment. Everyone that walks through the door is treated with the utmost respect. I would suggest anyone looking for representation in the Seattle area go to Seattle Talent.

Seattle Talent is the Best!
I’ve read some negative comments on here mainly because of the fees Seattle Talent charges for their workshops and also saying that their children don’t get sent to auditions. I have to say, my 17 year old daughter signed with Seattle Talent just a week and a half ago, and yes, we paid for the workshops. The way we look at it is MANY parents pay big money for their children to join sports… football, dive team, cheerleading, etc. And the majority of those kids are NOT going to make it big and become rich and famous in doing so. They pay because it is their children’s passion or just simply what their children enjoy doing. Our daughters passion is modeling/​fashion so why shouldn’t we pay for her to get the best training for it possible? We didn’t sign with Seattle Talent with the expectation for her to get rich and famous. We did it so she can do something she loves. IF she makes it big because of Seattle Talent, GREAT. But if not, she is doing something she loves and building her self confidence while doing it. And also she’s learning how to speak in auditions which will definitely help her in her future.
As far as anyone complaining about their children not getting sent to auditions, a week and a half later and my daughters been to two auditions. We are waiting to hear about the first one right now. We went to the second two days ago and she was booked. She will be getting her first check soon so I’m not sure what those negative posts are about. I also talked to another mother that her daughter has been BOOKED for 4 separate modeling gigs in the 7 months she’s been with Seattle Talent. That’s not mentioning all the auditions she’s gone to (of course you’re not going to get booked for every audition). Not too shabby in my opinion.
SO, I am a very happy mother of a even happier 17 year old daughter BECAUSE of Seattle Talent!

Total scam. Going to their «audition» was like sitting through a timeshare pitch. And they put 99.99% of their new talent into their «Development Programs.» This includes a starting package at $ 1950, advanced program at $ 2900 and what they call a career program at $ 5900!!! It’s a total scam. For all you wanna be actors, singers, dancers, out there — do not do this. I worked in the New York and Philadelphia markets and know that you do not and should not pay anything to join an agency. Legitimate agencies take a percentage of what you earn. Seattle Talent is taking from both sides — coming in the door and once you start working. That’s why their «VPs» are dressed in expensive suits. Here’s my advice — run away! run away! run away!

Nice place. Cool people. Lots of success stories. But expect to get nervous when you do your screen test. Also parking is tough, but once you’re there, everybody smiles. I think they hold auditions every once in a while, but call first, to check.

If you check the phone # with the Better Business Bureau you will find that Seattle Talent is actually a John Robert Powers school. They make their money selling coaching and dreams, and do not «represent» clients who do not buy their expensive coaching packages. Look up John Robert Powers on Wikipedia for an idea of how JRP has been doing the same since my grandmother’s day. The rep I spoke to was not honest about how the agency makes its money — through selling you coaching. Were they actual talent or model agents, they would make a commission based on your work, not demand money up front. Buyer beware. Real agents, real modeling agencies, do not make you pay for representation up front. They take a commission off of the work they find for you.
