The cheese festival on a Seattle sunny day is the sheet… I look forward to this every year… Free festival, cobble stone roads, $ 10 wine/pike place brewery garden, street performers, uniqueness of the market, coconut cheese, expensive brie, spicy aged cheddar, macrina bread, people watching, long lines, cheese from England, puget sound backdrop, pastries from le panier… to note it does get kind of hectic down here with the crowd. at times people wait in line and other times people cut them. just let it be because this festival is GREAT. btw bring cash if you plan to purchase some cheese.

It’s FREECHEESE(okay $ 1 donation) but that deserves as many stars as there are in the sky. I do despise the terribly rude people who push and shove and dart their hand in to grab samples ahead of everyone. Hello, people are waiting for a reason! But can’t really blame the festival people, that’s hard to regulate. Highlights: — Fresh Mozzarella demo! And that means even more samples — Wine tasting — The cheeses were the true stars of course. From local and far-off vendors(w/cheeses hailing from Italy, Spain, France), from the stinky veiny blue cheese to hard, crumbly orange crusts and everything in between. The best part? They’re almost all priced $ 6 or under, YES. Loved the honey coated Marscapone — Flirtatious French vendors. I thought he was putting on an accent to hawk his cheese but nope, he was a bona fide Frenchman(or maybe he was French Canadian …) He told me to meet him at the market at 6 am so he could give me his # so the other ladies wouldn’t be jealous. haha — Location: Pike Place Market! There’s nowhere better and there’s so much to do and see if you get bored of cheese(gasp) TIP: I came armed with an ice cold water bottle, water crackers, salami and a camera. No joke, this is my 3rd year running and I know how to be prepared to overindulge in creamy, dairy goodness.
