I can’t believe that I’ve never stopped in here before after living in the neighborhood so long. I had no idea what a hidden treasure this was! The owner is a lovely lady who is friendly and kind, and will answer all of your questions if you’re not familiar with some of the items on the menu. I ordered a spinach panini, and it came with a small salad. The panini was actually more of a French bread toasted sandwich and not a panini, but still — delicious! The salad was a small bowl with perfectly fresh lettuce, red onion, and tomato, with a light vinaigrette and some pepper. If you don’t want a full meal, as I ordered, you can also stop in for just a coffee and a pastry, or even a soda. There is free WiFi, and you can sit with your laptop or smartphone and just chill for a while. The décor is relaxing: tall ceilings, big easy chairs by the sunny windows, or you can choose a table and chairs if you like. There is also a second room for bigger parties and meals. Also, there were a couple of smaller sitting areas that you could step up into that were separated by curtains — very private, like little cubby holes. I could see how the hideaway areas would be useful for a quiet meeting, or even a date. The walls are a warm cinnamon brown color and there is colorful and vibrant African art everywhere. This place was delightful. I will be going back soon, and I’ll bring friends and family. Thanks for the great service, Rose Café.
