Like others have reported, the pastries are hit or miss. The coffee drinks are meh. I went in for lunch at around 12:30pm last week and was told they were out of bread and couldn’t make sandwiches. I was like«aren’t u a bakery, is this normal»? The guy behind the counter just shrugged. Oy! I shan’t be making the walk up Mt. Baker for this place again.

Stopped in on a Thursday at lunch, and have no idea why there wasn’t a line out the door. Hidden treasure for sure, very relaxed atmosphere, staff was great, and the dill chicken sandwich was of the hook. Self baked bread thicker than the marine layer and lighter than a cloud houses chicken salad with the right amount of dill. Bravo you guys, definitely coming back.

They have the most delicious pastries and the coffee is pretty good too! The people are nice, there’s plenty of seating. Parking a a breeze compared to Cap Hill!

I met a friend for lunch here today. Just after we got there, a very loud fire alarm went off. It was a drill, but they’d barely been given any notice. We ate outside, and two other customers stayed, but the others left since the noise wouldn’t stop. They close at 2pm, and we ended up chatting past then. As consolation for the fire alarm, they not only let me have my sandwich and chai FREE, they gave us all their day-old pastries! Scones, croissants, muffins – really good ones too. I’m trying not to eat them too quickly. They said rather than pay for today, we should just come back again. They are in Leschi/Mt. Baker, a bit off the beaten path, or at least mine. But the 14 stops right in front of the shop(and runs every 20 minutes during the day), and the more frequent 8 is a few blocks away if you can walk uphill. The food and service were both very good, so I will go back sooner or later!

Coffee is weak, staff is somewhere between brusque and unfriendly, some pastries are on the dry side, others OK. I’ve tried them twice with the same result. Don’t plan to try again.

Great little local bakery and coffee shop. Our new local place to go within walking distance.

I live in the neighborhood, so the convenience is great. And I think we need this kind of a place in the area, so I’m all in favor of it. However, the coffee, pastries, and other offerings are kind of meh. The coffee down the street at QED is better, and I’d rather skip the calories than get a pastry here. If they upped their food game, I would stop in regularly, but right now there’s just not a great reason to. So nothing bad about this place, but nothing noteworthy either.

Stopped in for a quick something and Americano refill. The pastries are not priced so I had to ask about each option, and they are expensive for what you get. But what irks me the most is the coffee was way too hot. 20 minutes after I got it, I opened my mug and took a tiny sip and it scalded my mouth. Here’s a clue, when your coffee literally causes 1st or 2nd degree burns, it’s too hot.

This bakery has excellent pastries, tarts, quiches, etc. They also make great sandwiches to order. Nice spot to grab a coffee in the morning. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.
