Scott was very helpful with my purchase! My charger died, and needed a new one. He helped me find the right one and even gave me tips on how to not break it again. Highly recommended and much appreciated!

Customer service is most definitely not «their thing» — needed a phone battery and the guy was on the phone and didn’t even look or acknowledge us when we walked in — pretty rude. Thankfully the cell phone sales guy (an outside rep for Verizon or something) helped us find it — which was nice.

Stepped into a RadioShack for the first time in over a decade. Was surprised by the exceptional service I received. Discovered several great deals! Denzel was the person who helped me. Will definitely return.

Last week, my phone froze. I’m a DIY’er. break something, I’ll give it a go. I didn’t know how to reset it, mostly b/​c my phone is 2 years old and I couldn’t find any help online. So I planned on taking the battery out. good plan. except my phone sucks and has two screws that need to be removed to get at the battery. so I planned on removing them and pulling the battery. good plan. except that the small star shaped screw bit required to access said battery, is unheard of in America. Call tool brothers. Find it at one of my brothers house. proper screwbit in hand, remove one screw, go for second, and… it spins in place. meanwhile I have to pick up three, 9 year olds, in 30 minutes… but not sure if there should be a 4^th, because my phone is frozen. get in car, drive by radio shack, stop in. one of those last minute, do I? don’t I? across 3 lanes of traffic decisions. walked in, explained problem, 1^st guy goes hunting for proper screwdriver… at this point I sigh, because I forgot the damn screwbit… this guy spent 10 minutes looking for one. talking to me, kindly, the whole time… he can’t find one… gets other guy… he grabs my phone, holds down power button and volume down button and resets it. boom! I almost jumped across the ciunter to hug this guy. 4 hours after I started. So I repeatedly thank him and get in my car. phone won’t call mom of girl I’m supposed to pick up. phone won’t text. phone not working… I calmly walk back in store, hand it back to them, and ask for a paper clip for the sim card… they both look for 5 more minutes. no paperclip… guy that reset my phone, says he has an idea, gets a paperclip and opens up my simcard port… to find no simcard. I left it back at home.
Now, being helpful during someone else’s bad day is great. More people should be. For me though, that gives you 3.5÷5 stars. Being so friendly and funny during my self induced crisis gets you 4.5/5…doing it all over, 5 minutes after I walk out… that gets you ⁵⁄₅.

I needed cables for my Sol Republic headphones because the left side didn’t work anymore. They had them so I bought them. Now I can enjoy music on the bus again.
These $ 20 headphones also have a $ 4 warranty that they try to sell you. I didn’t buy the warranty because I like to live dangerously.

Robert was a huge help to me in picking out something I needed but couldn’t find online. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. The parking is really bad here, but if you need a Radio Shack, go to this one, instead of risking your life to go to the one on 3^rd Ave downtown.

For the longest time Radio Shack only occupied a tiny corner of my memory as a store that sold batteries and remote-​controlled cars.
Now they are a hub for cell phones of every variety, and the usage plans that go with them. After dropping my phone for the 100^th time it finally died, and I decided to enter the dark side and buy a Smart-​ish phone. I say Smart-​ISH because it’s an older model Android and doesn’t have a lot of Inspector Gadget-​y trickiness to it.
Ballard used to have a newer Radio Shack on Market that closed a while ago so I drove up to this location in Crown Hill, situated on the corner of Sketchville and Shady Lane, with a troublesome parking lot that can be tough to maneuver (park on the side of the street and you’re golden) and an array of characters that belong in a Bukowski novella, vagabond-​types buying minutes for their burner phones and other folks who seem to have just crawled out of the nearby watering hole at closing time.
The store is a bit cramped and stuffed to the rafters with electronic knick-​knacks but it’s clean and well-​lit and has adequate service. Since it’s mid-​November of course the Christmas music was blaring and I had to high-​tail it out of there before a headache ensued, compliments of Santa Baby. I did note some awesome deals on clearance toys so I will return, to snag those good deals.

I went in yesterday to pick up an SD card. I’m somewhat techno challenged and din’t really know what I needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful and did’t make me feel small for not being up on the latest greatest.

Rude & poor service. My friend called to make sure they had the item he wanted in stock and was told «yes» only to arrive at store and be told «no». No apology. If fact clerk (who was doing nothing) seemed put out that he had to even speak to us. Nice. So glad we paid for parking for that.

When you enter an electronics store and identify yourself as someone who «doesn’t know anything», you think they’ll assume you’re a layman and take you at your word.
Recently, I bought a ROKU box at this Radio Shack. I told the man — who turned out to be the manager — that I had a new plasma TV and wanted to be able to get Netflix, etc. He asked me something about Ethernet. I told him I didn’t know what that was.
We chose the more expensive of the two boxes and I specifically asked him «Do I have all I need to hook this up, or do I need to buy another cord?» He said «No. That’s it.» When I asked him again, at the register, he was clearly irked, lost patience and pretty much snapped back that I didn’t need anything else.
I was just trying to save myself another trip, but point taken!
So I get home, open the box.
Step one: Connect your HDMI cable from the box to your TV. (not included.)
Grrrrr. My head exploded.
I drove to the Fred Meyer TV department and bought a cable there. «Even I know that needs an HDMI cable,» says the 18 year old Fred Meyer worker. So I bought the ROKU box from Freddies and returned the Radio Shack purchase. It wasn’t so much that the guy didn’t know, but how quickly he was willing to give me attitude.
Not good customer service.
When I returned the ROKU box, I told a young (16 year old?) Radio Shack employee what had happened. «Well, we assume that our customers know…» Not an apology. Nothing.

Since the closure of the Market Street store this location has become my home Radio Shack, and I’m kind of wishing I’d made that change sooner.
The couple of times I’ve been to this location, the staff have been very helpful and not preoccupied with the game or Dancing with the Stars or whatever else was on the TV.
Even though the store is a fair bit smaller than other locations it manages to have a comparable amount of stock without feeling cramped.
Typically a Radio Shack is a Radio Shack, but the Crown Hill Shack manages to stand a little taller than the others I’ve been to around the country.

Helpful and polite. Had a wall charger in stock for a cell phone that is about 5 years old.
