When it comes to ginger beer, it doesn’t get better than Rachel’s locally crafted brew. A wide variety of rotating, innovate flavors complement the original beautifully.
This location is gorgeous with an open, laid back atmosphere and offers Moscow mules on tap, soft serve ginger beer floats, plus standard and blended cocktails.
My favorite flavors so far are the caramelized pineapple, strawberry watermelon and passion fruit vanilla. Try any of the flavors as a soft serve float — a yummy treat for a hot day!
It’s fresh, it’s local, it’s simply the BEST!

I initially came here solely for the ginger beer, which is as fabulous as everyone has raved about. I’m in the works of making my own at home, and I definitely appreciate all the hard work that Rachel Marshall put into making such a unique, delicious product.
This location is like a kids-​friendly bar (for lack of a better word), where you can buy growlers of ginger beer (in a variety of flavors), have a cocktail (or mocktail), and grab a bite from the fried chicken shack on the side. It’s a clean, fresh environment, very welcoming.
The cocktails were pretty average, a little pricey, and, sadly, only memorable due to the ginger beer base. It’s possible the base overwhelms the additional flavors in the cocktails we tried so that they try to add more to even it out? But we weren’t fans.
We’ll definitely be back for ginger beer, at least!

Totally fun and different concept. Very airy and open indoor seating. Huge screen tv for entertainment. I don’t live in Seattle so out of Towners should definitely give this place a go in Capitol Hill. Different from usual bar and coffee places.

It’s the best ginger beer in the world, who cares what the price is.
If you are a pro you’ll bring in a 32 or 64oz growler and get a $ ⁵⁄₈ discount respectively.

If you want to splurge on their copper mugs go ahead but you can buy them on amazon for much less.
Fun story: Moscow mule was created by three friends in a bar, one had problems selling copper, the other had a shitty bar and the other sold ginger beer. They created the drink and advertised it at the bar in copper mugs with vodka and lime. The popularity of the drink comes and goes but the copper mugs are always hits.

If you want to enjoy the best ginger beer in town without having to contend with the tourist denizens at Pike Place Market, look no further than this outlet of Rachel’s Ginger Beer. Located in the 12^th Ave Arts building, this is a really delightful space. It is large, open and airy, with an ample sidewalk café section that serves as a patio. I was recently here for a gathering of 25 – 30 people, and there was enough space for all of us to spread out (both standing and seated) without completely taking over the entire spot.
The $ 6 happy hour Moscow Mule is a sweet deal, but the $ 4 happy hour fries are even better. You get a giant bowl of fries that can easily be shared amount four people, and a couple of dipping sauces to boot. Snacking on some fries while sipping on that Moscow Mule in the patio on a Friday afternoon is an excellent rendition of paradise. I also tried the pink guava mule, which was a frozen version of the Moscow Mule with pink guava ginger beer instead of the plain stuff. That drink knocked it out of the park – I’m a huge fan of guava, and this flavoured ginger beer definitely did the fruit justice. I’ll definitely be coming back here to sample more of the flavours in other cocktails!

I love this place so much, its become my new addiction! I honestly MUST come by here during the weekend even if it’s just one drink. The flavors of their ginger beer really is one of the best! I usually get a double shots in my drink lol just to take it up notch.
The staff is super friendly and always welcoming. The atmosphere of this place is warm and comforting. Definitely one of the best places to be during the summer time!
There’s so many flavors to choose it really is hard to choose one. I think I’ve almost tasted all of them. My favorites ones are the white peach, bloody orange, their seasonal flavors, pink guava, oh gosh, the list goes on! All I can say is that if you’re in the neighborhood, stop by RGB and have one… or TWO! :)

I loved the relaxed atmosphere here at Rachel’s Ginger Beer in Cap Hill! My friend who lives in the area brought me here for the first time & I immediately clicked with the laid back environment. Plus, the ginger beers were absolutely amazing! My friend got Guava which I tried & loved at first sip, while I enjoyed a peach. This a great place to de-​stress from college & hang out!

i had the spring punch (pineapple, orange, rgb). it was quite spicy but i love that refreshing ginger kick!
there was way too much ice in my drink for ~$ 6 especially since it was nonalcoholic. i finished it in like 5 sips. it would be fair if there was no ice.
i tasted some of my friend’s ice blended mixed drink with coconut and white rum, i think, but it barely had alcohol in it.
i would’ve given 4 stars otherwise though it is kind of pricy for a soft drink.
very cute modern interior though and the outside would be great during summer.
the bartenders are mostly friendly in a genuine way.

Rachel’s Ginger Beer is awesome.
It’s the perfect place for day drinking! I imagine it would be a little slow at night– given the limited booze options (gin, vodka, rum, bourbon, fernet).
My favorite drink was a Caramelized Pineapple Ginger Beer with Rum.
Runner up was the Guava Ginger Beer with Gin.
I’m stoked to come back here and try more of the Ginger Beer varieties. There were 8 or 10 to try.

Rgb is one of Seattle’s iconic tourist destinations, with its flagship location in pike place. The bar in capitol hill is icing on the cake. Located in the 12^th ave arts building, it has a hipster, yet modern vibe to it. The place is reasonably big. They have around 6 – 8 table/​booths and two large community tables that seat about 12 each. It is brightly lit giving you a happy feeling.
The ginger beer is excellent as it is, and their mules/​cocktails are just as good. We tried making our own mules, and the results were great. We got a montana mule with white peach, which we all liked. The hot toddy is excellent for a rainy day, or if you have a cold. However, the RGB shandy had just the taste of pilsner, and not much of the ginger beer, and the dark and fernety was too bitter.
They have fries was well, which are literally served in a heap. Even though they recommend one for 2 – 3 people, I think one can easily serve 4 or 5. They have a large variety of dipping sauces. I liked the kimchi mayo and garlic mayo the best, but was disappointed by the thai chili mayo, and the mango habenero ones. Also, the fries felt a tad too oily, and a bit more crisp than I like.
The prices seem a little steep, even though it’s the same tourist pricing as at pike place. The alc drinks are around $ 8 – 10, which I feel is a little too much for ginger beer and a shot of liquor. Many good bars have craft cocktails for $ 10 – 12, so just comparing with them.
That said, it’s an awesome place to start off a night in cap hill. A must go for anyone who likes ginger beer, or just want a cool place to meet friends.

I came here with my friends on a Sunday night around 11pm. It was pretty dead here. When we walked inside, I was mesmerized by the really cute décor. The ambiance of the place seems very VERY hipster. I was told the ginger beers are super tasty so I had to get it. I got the white peach flavored and it wasn’t bad. Being the foodie that I am, I was super disappointed that they served it in a TO-​GO cup. That does not make for a very good presentation. Maybe a suggestion is to serve it in a glass cup and have a slice of ginger root on the rim of the cup? That would look way better for presentation and pictures. The drink did not have a harsh ginger taste, which was perfect for me!
We also ordered fries and these were super delish! Crispy, hard, yet soft at the same time. This is a must order.

Service is great, the guys greeted us quickly.
The drrinks are tasty and defintely has the gingery kick to it. I really enjoyed the blood orange ginger beer. It’s their most popular flavor.
The fries were delicious and fun to snack out. They have a huge selection of sauce.
The ambience is great for a night out. The lights were dim, the plants hanging were fun and the noise level wasn’t insanely loud. There were enough seats for everyone.
Parking was difficult though, since we came on a weekend. Saturday night to be specific.

Love love their cocktails — well mainly the moscow mules. The ginger beer covers the taste of alcohol perfectly so you dangerously inhale the cocktails because they’re so good. My favorite so far has been the seasonal pear moscow mule! There are a lot of other cocktail choices too like spiked floats which I need to try next.
Other then that drinks, we also got fries which comes in a huge portions size. There was even too much to share amongst 2 people. We got the thai mayo and the curry ketchup. The Thai mayo was not very flavorful and really just tasted like plain mayo but I loved the curry ketchup!
I def like this location better than the Pike’s place because there are plenty of tables without a million tourists. it’s a nice environment for groups but it does get loud when they play music later into the night. This is the place to go for a late night hang out — away from the craziness of cap hill.

Love the location and the ginger beer. I am a huge fan of moscow mule’s and the only ginger beer that I will use is Rachel’s.
Specifically for this location, the staff are very nice and answers all my questions about all the different flavors. Also, are very patient when people want to try samples. The ambiance is really relaxed and fun to go stop into for a refreshment (alcoholic or not) and a snack!

Obviously, the ginger beer is good. It’s super fizzy and not too sweet. You don’t get a copper cup to drink your mule out of though, so that’s a bit of a bummer.
The space is clean, bright, and has open air frontage. Take a moment to look up at the neat hanging plants.

What a great concept! It’s like a frozen yogurt bar with ginger beer. You can try the different flavors and then create your own cocktails (or enjoy the beer on it’s own). This is a full service bar so hard liquor is mixed into your ginger-​beer infused cocktails. The space is very open and modern. There’s a 2^nd location at Pike’s Place by Pike Place Clam Chowder.
They also serve deep fried foods (fries, onion rings, etc) with many, many sauce options. I came here directly after lunch so I wasn’t able to stomach any more food. There’s a phở sauce!
You can also buy a jug of your favorite ginger beer flavor to go.

We were very excited when we found out they opened up a new Rachel’s Ginger Beer location in Capitol Hill! No need to make the long trek all the way down to pike place market anymore.
My friend and I were craving an afternoon snack so we went in and ordered a couple of their pink guava and pineapple soft serve floats. The pink guava ginger beer was very refreshing and the pineapple soft serve was delicious, the perfect combo together. We also ordered their fries and picked out a couple of their random dipping sauces where they offer more than ten different kinds (with or without mayo) so it took us a little while to choose. The fries came out nice and out and were very good but wished we were able to pick out a couple more sauces. They include two sauces with your order and charge you $.50 for any additional sauces.
The inside décor of the place was very nice and open. They also have a cute little outside patio area which is perfect for summer. We will definitely be back!

After posting my initial review, a fellow Unilocaler notified me that RGB does in fact have a happy hour! There have been a couple Unilocal reviews since then to confirm this as well. Hence, I decided to make a return trip a couple days ago to check out the happy hour.
Happy hour is offered from 3 – 6 pm. I had mentioned in my previous review that I wished that RGB offered a happy hour with discounts on their drinks and fries. And that is in fact what they have. However, the drink discount is limited to their Montana and Moscow Mule on tap which is $ 6 during happy hour. As for the fries, they are $ 4 during happy hour.
I have had the Moscow Mule at Montana, but not the Montana Mule. I had no idea what it was until I read the short description. Basically the difference between the Montana and the Moscow is that the prior has whiskey in it while the latter has vodka. The Montana Mule is similar tasting, but I found it a bit more refreshing than the Moscow Mule. Flavors are a bit more bold than the Moscow.
The hand cut fries are quite good as they arrive fresh and hot from the kitchen. Nice and crisp. They come with your choice of one sauce. The sauce selection here is massive. There are over 20+ sauces to choose from. Most of them are mayonnaise based, but they do have some non-​mayo and vegan sauces available. I tried the Thai chili mayo sauce and it was flavorful. The description indicated that it was spicy, but it isn’t really.
However before you order the fries, be aware that the portion size is huge. One order of fries is meant to serve 2 to 3 people. So unless you intend to eat them as a meal or want to bring the leftovers home, one order is enough. Also, I thought the size of the sauce was disproportionate to the amount of fries. You really need two sauces at least. But the fries on their own are seasoned already if you decide one sauce is enough.
Lastly if you are dining here, you will see that they have a nice open window seating and patio area which is great. It does get to be a bit too sunny on hot days though. The sun seems to cover most of the space, so you will want to sit more towards the bar if you prefer to sit in the shade.
The happy hour menu at RGB is short and sweet. If you are looking for a place for a quick drink and snack of fries before having dinner on Capitol Hill, RGB is a good option.

Rachel’s Ginger Beer is a cute and trendy place in Capitol Hill (and by the Pike Place Market) that serves the most unique and amazing drinks. They offer amazing ginger beer flavors including blood orange, white peach, hibiscus and others.
My friend decided to get the Frozen Mule, which is a pink grapefruit ginger beer cocktail. I decided to get a float made with blood orange and their own original soft serve. Both drinks were SO GOOD, especially on a summer night that was slowly cooling off.
It’s the perfect place to catch up with friends or just have a nice refreshing drink. Love it!
