I can’t say enough good things about R Place, especially their Staff. I think they go above and beyond to practice good business, keeping guests and the space safe. Security had water bottles ready for people who were going down, and I really appreciate the backup. Best dancing in town! Thank you R Place

Best gay bar in Seattle. Fun drag shows and super friendly go-go boys. Drinks are automatic doubles which was awesome, but they didn’t taste very well. I guess you pay for the atmosphere. I had a blast and will be back next time I visit Seattle.

Bartenders: Really rude, not even a smile. They were hot white guys but complete narcissists. They were really rude and unattentive. They probably go entirely by their looks to get tips because they just sometimes stand there and service the same people. They seem to treat people of color differently. We were new to the Club. Very rude to my friend and semi OK attitude towards me. Gogo boys: Hot mix of guys. Works harder than the bartenders shaking their money makers. Very polite, courteous, and attentive. They were the saving grace for this Club. My friend gave them a $ 20 tip for just being courteous and friendly. No special treatment necessary. Music: Really good pop/hip hop dance mix Drinks: OK according to my friend. I liked it cuz the alcohol wasn’t strong. Bathrooms: clean and stocked.

DONT come here on your 21st birthday. The bartenders were so so rude. They kept tapping on the bar top telling my friends to make a decision on what to drink and being super rude about it saying things like«I don’t have all day.», «figure it out now» etc. The drinks were cheap, but that was the only nice thing about this place.

$ 17 bucks for two gin and tonics. What the hell. We were told there would be a drag show at midnight so we planned our whole evening on the town around this show. Guess what? It never happened. We kept asking the bartenders(when they’d actually speak to me) what was going on and they kept saying it would happen. Two more rounds later, it’s 1:15 in the morning and no drag show. Please don’t lie to your patrons to get them to spend more money at your bar. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I feel robbed.

Great atmosphere. Drinks are well made and bartenders are attentive. Love the 3 floor layout. Definetly never been to a bar this well set up

First off it was expensive. Cover charge is 10 so that threw us off and drinks were obviously expensive. The location is very hidden and not so ideal. It smells and looks like you can get a disease from this place. The crowd here are sexually aggressive. Mind my language but I was very disgusted and appalled that from the moment you walk in the door, you feel harassed of some sort. It is not a good vibe. It seems to be damp and moisture tends to «clog» the second floor which is pretty disgusting. Ventilation is obviously horrible and it was really damp in this place. Overall, this place is too expensive to what it tries to bring. The view and scene is not that great, it’s also small and has poor ventilation. I wouldn’t be surprised if a fire started because everything that’s going on here looks like fire hazard to me.

After being in Seattle a handful of times, I’m finally discovering the Capitol Hill neighborhood. I was referred to «R-Place» as I was told it keeps a friendly local vibe serving a nice group. So I checked it out. Jefferson was awesome — a ginger friendly mixologist, versed to the Nth degree. He held court flawlessly and really looked confident and great behind the bar. I’d do him ;) Even before a couple of his drinks ;)

Came here to meet a friend a few weeks ago and didnt realize it was drag show night and a gay bar. $ 10 cover, not a big deal and there was no line so we got in pretty quick. 3 floors of pulse pounding music upside yo head! The show was on the top floor where we tried to find my friend in a sea of bodies watching the show. Show was actually very good! Enjoyed the songs they played and the performers were so good at the singing, dancing, outfits, the pageantry, all around, they nailed it! No real dress code at this club/bar, I think shirtless is the way to go. Drinks were nice & stiff(no pun intended). They do have other live music performances, may have to check that out too.

This is a gay bar where you can be who are are with no judgement. There’s definitely more guys than girls, but you still get your fair share of lesbians. I always have a good time here when I come with a big group or just one friend. The music is great, drinks are strong, and the atmosphere is fun and exciting. Thursday’s are the best in my opinion; Cheaper drinks, fewer crowds, and an amazing drag show followed by dancing.

Probably one of the worst gay places in the world. The first time, I came with my boyfriend, the bartender whose story is Marine in the Reserve hit on my boyfriend in font of me and gave him his number. No respect. And second time we were dragged by our friends, the security guy just came down the stairs(from the dance floor) pushing everyone on the side, I said«hey man you don’t have to push us on the side» and he said«I am a hurry» and continued to argue and I said«hey man, leave us alone» and in less than a minute he said«how much have you drank? I think it’s time for you to go.» Yeah. Even if we are dragged by friends, we will refuse now to come to a place whose lack of professionalism is on top of their priorities. But I should have learned from our first time there.

Fun. I had a great time bc I was just dancing with some fun friends. Don’t get up on the 4×4 foot stage tho, or the security guy will give you a mean look like you stole his lunch. Honestly, I didn’t know it was against the rules? Take it easy security guy, we’re just here to have fun. I’d go back. 4 stars bc the dude gave me a stink eye. Hey customer service counts.

I get that this is a bar, not a Starbucks but everyone from the girl at the door to the coat check guy was rude. I’m pretty agreeable, and didn’t even had a drink in me, and got attitude from pretty everyone working besides friends I knew from the outside.

A fun place to dance it out! The woman on the door was very nice. My group went to the third floor to dance the night away,

Depends on the night and the host. .hot mess or hit or miss. The staff could be more friendly. Some of the staff are nice, but again it’s totally hit or miss.

Walking around late on a Thursday night, I was trying to find somewhere to go dance for the night. Unfortunately, everywhere else seemed pretty dead. I’m glad I found this place though! On Thursday night the cover was $ 3, nice and cheap. The place has 3 floors; the 1st floor has a bar and some seating, the 2nd has a lot of large couches for chillin, and the 3rd has another bar, a small dance area, and platforms for go go boys. The go go boys are super entertaining and fairly attractive. Equally as entertaining are all the thirsty older Asian women and other admirers shoving wads of cash down their briefs. The drag queens hang around throughout the night. Two of them performed briefly on Thursday night and were very entertaining. The music was good! Lots of top 40s and remixes, all great to dance to. On Friday, the cover jumps to $ 10(but it’s free on your birthday, a nice treat!) Overall, a very fun place to dance away the night!

Don’t drink the Angry Balls. errrgh. $ 6 is tempting but, just… don’t. Homo Hop sundays? Me likes. The gogo can dance for me all day! Whatever happened on last Wednesday with the special guest drag queen and whore in church, I liked that too. All other rude stuck up drags. Take your negativity and go away. #notimefodat I always have fun here. Glad this place exists!

It’s been a while since I’ve been to R Place. None of my friends like it, so we usually wind up at the Cuff. I’ve tried a few times to convince them to give it another shot because I’m all about trying different places and mixing things up, but no success. Despite this, I’ve been going to R Place since I moved here seven years ago. Back in those days, it was great fun. I have lots of great memories of the wet underwear nights, amateur strip nights, drag shows, and packed dance floors on the weekend. Last night a friend invited me to R Place and I jumped at the opportunity because I haven’t been there in a while and I really have been missing it. Here’s how it went down. First, the cover was 10 $ at 9:00 p.m. Okay, it was a drag show. A good drag show. Worth 10 $? Not really. Then this happened: I got kicked out. My two friends and I were leaving the dance floor upstairs and it was packed. The typical weekend firetrap of R Place. My friend wanted to get outside, and he admittedly pushed me because he felt I was moving too slow. I fell forward and bumped into the barback very slightly. He proceed to yell at me: «Don’t push your way through the crowd!» Ok, point taken. Even though there is really no other way to get around up there– it’s packed shoulder to shoulder and you’re going to bump into somebody. At this point I tried to apologize. We all have our super gay traits, and mine is that I apologize like an old church lady. A quick touch on the shoulder and«Oh, I’m so sorry. Excuse me.» I got as far as the touch on the shoulder, and the bar back yelled at me again: «Don’t *&%^*) touch me. You’re out.» And then security escorted me out. The security guy’s response: «We keep logs on this, and he’s been warned about his temper. But by law we have to kick you out.» Now I admit that I’m not up on current Washington State liquor board regulations, but this has never happened to me or anybody I know– and I’ve seen a lot of drunken shenanigans in my day. I’ve seen a lot of friends kicked out of bars, but not for attempted acts of kindness. R Place, I’m the kind of patron you want to keep. I buy drinks, spend money, and have a good time, but I’m respectful of everybody. I have fun but I do it responsibly. When I go out, I just want to be treated respectfully. Not verbally abused or harassed by the staff. Definitely not kicked out for trying to be a good person. There’s a reason none of my friends like R Place anymore, and I learned it again last night. Next weekend: Back to the Cuff :)

SUPERDUPERFUN! Loud, friendly crowd, awesome music, tons of space. This bar has something for everyone– pool tables, room to talk(read, quieter) lower level, and mad dancing and shows on the top floor. Staff seems prompt and friendly, there are lots of bouncers to protect the innocent, and overall great vibe. I always meet new friends when I come here! Make sure you check out the amateur(stripping? dancing?) competition!
