Been my favorite restaurant on the hill for years. Great beer selection, food is always good and the staff is generally attentive. You really can’t go wrong with the bone marrow, the seared foie gras or the chicken entrée. The pretzel with a welsh rarebit is also one of my favorites… This is a perfect date spot. I take myself on solo dates here frequently.

Quinn’s was the first stop on my quest to conquer Seattle eats this past weekend. I have to say the expectations were set pretty high after this meal. As far as wait time goes, it was a very reasonable 20 minutes considering it was a 3 day valentines/presidents day weekend. We just pulled up a seat at the bar and enjoyed some delicious cider and beer until they text us that our table was ready. The décor is great, I definitely loved the vibe that was created by this place. My boyfriend and I started with the scotch egg and the creamed carrot soup as our appetizers and they were both extremely delicious! I decided to go for the Wild Boar Sloppy Joe with a duck egg and it was just as good as I expected it to be. My boyfriend had the burger and was also very impressed with his meal. The service was also great! Our waitress was very attentive during our whole meal. I would definitely recommend Quinn’s to any friends traveling to Seattle.

Went there last night and the unenthusiastic hostess told us there was a 20 minute wait for a table of 6. The top floor had one table and the downstairs was 2⁄3 full with a few 6 tops open. As we crammed and waited awkwardly in the front, the hostess disappeared, never to be seen again. I guess we weren’t hipster enough for this place.

I just don’t understand the hype for this place. The menu is small… and pricey. The food is good, but it is different than what you would find elsewhere. I had a sloppy Joe that was very different(spicy), but good. They don’t have a great mixed drink selection, which disappointed me, but the cider was good. I guess out of all the options in the area, I’m not sure I would ever pick this one again.

I don’t care what else you are ordering here but for your sake… Order those foie gras fries! They were out of this world. And that sauce made me lick my chops for hours afterwards. I didn’t get a chance to try their sloppy joe but the burger was top notch. But nothing beats those amazing foie gras fries tho. Goes down well with anything you want to order off of their cocktails menu. The old fashioned was what I had.

Our first time here. There is 1 table of 8 – 10 plus 4 people at the bar, including us. The interior sets a good mood, tasteful, mature. Service received from the hostess on the other hand, disappointing. We walked in 5.12. Granted we were rapidly ushered to a table, when we asked if it was still happy hour, she emphatically told us, no, it ended. We still requested to sit at the bar. Bartender hands us 2 menus. Us thinking it’s not happy hour, immediately order wine and a beer from the regular menu. When it arrives, I ask what time does happy hour end here. Bartender replys it’s still on until 6 and points to the small menu. I let him know we were just told it was over. He explains nothing further. Well, ¼ of happy hour is over. Beer is not offered on HH after 5 but there is still a menu available for tastes, cocktails and yes, wine. What would I have expected? To have some explaination of how happy hour was handled there. Then I would have followed up and asked if there was a cocktail or wine I preferred from the happy hour menu. As for our HH appitizer, the scallops were seared perfectly and red curry complimented well.

Great little we pub just north of Seattle University. Had some nice seats up above the bar in a loft. The beers were great. I had Manny’s IPA with the fish and chips. Quality fish. Good fries. We also had the wild boar sloppy joe. That was also good. We’ll visit again if we’re in the area.

Quinn’s is your only real option for a gastropub in this neck of the woods, so thank your lucky stars that it’s a hella solid one. A little known secret is that Quinn’s has a fantastic happy hour from 3−5pm on every day but Sunday. Why is it so fantastic? You get half off all draft beers! Given the fact that Quinn’s always has a wide-ranging tap selection, you’re going to get a steal on something you’ve secretly always been itching to drink(non-HH tap prices are definitely on the higher price for some of the offerings). I personally find myself coming back to the Quinn’s Ale time and time again – it’s one of the most dependable, easygoing beers I’ve found – with the occasional experiment in something quirkier. I usually find myself here for HH on days when I’m home early from work, but I have stayed here later into the evening for dinner once. As wise reviewers before me recommended, I got the Wild Boar Sloppy Joe, and splurged for the egg on top(it really does make the dish). Oh man, so good. Don’t worry about it tasting too gamey – the gaminess really lends itself to this dish. The only downside is that Quinn’s is a very popular spot due to its prime location amidst the Pike/Pine bustle. This can mean long wait times depending on when you show up. Did I mention that the HH also comes with an abundance of easily available tables?

We had already eaten a big dinner at Lark and was really full but we decided to walk over to Quinn’s to try the bone marrow and grab some drinks. It was kind of crowded when we walked in, but I was relieved to see that everyone was dressed down because I felt so under dressed at Lark. Our server Dominic was amazing! We told him we really wanted to try the bone marrow even though we had just eaten so he told us he’d put in a half order for us instead of a full. We also ordered a scotch egg and two old fashioned. We were so glad we took Dominic’s advice because when the bone marrow came out, they were huge! We barely finished one but it was really good and flavorful. Better than bone marrows I’ve had at other places and for half the cost? It was a steal! We ended up just hanging out here the whole night, because of how mellow the place was. Towards the end of our meal, my friend decided to order the winter crisp? Pretty much like an apple crisp but I guess with winter fruits. When it came time to pay for everything Dominic let us know that he had taken care of our dessert and it honestly made our night. We both had a bad day and just that simple gesture really cheered us up, so thank you Dominic :). Definitely go here and check them out! Food and service are amazing here.

I might be alone in this one, but I did not enjoy my meal here at all. Service was great, ambiance overlooking the bar was great, but my food was just too damn salty. Keep in mind that I’m a super meat eater raised from birth with an immunity to salt, but I just could not get a grip on how salty my tongue was. I feel like someone in the kitchen spilled a bag of salt by mistake and it got everywhere. Ugh, I really wanted to like this place. -=-Scotch Egg-=- The salt was tame in this one, but still was a little on the extra side. Yolk was running and perfect. Crust was crunchy, but overall it’s not a savior. -=-Fries with Foie-=- I was excited for this. I prepped my whole life for foie. Sadly, this was not the foie I was looking for. The foie mix on top was ruined by the extra saltiness they battered into it. Leave the foie alone and it will do magic, but the tinkering dropped it so downhill. It did not help that the fries were on the soggy side when it came out. -=-Marrow Bones-=- Alright, this was the savior here. The largest pile of marrow in a single order. Label me impressed here as the bones were piled high 3 stacks. I could not believe my eyes. I enjoyed these immensely. No complaints about the flavor and taste of this one.

This place was super crowded on the Saturday night we went there. The wait was over an hour. Once seated, at the bar(which is first come first served), we were able to order from the full menu. The food was average and a bit too salty. That said, the bartender was exceptional! I love a place with great customer service, and this place definitely delivered! All things considered, with so many great places to eat in Seattle, I wouldn’t go back for their food, but I’d stop in again for drinks.

COOLESTWAITEREVER We arrived at a little past midnight and asked the waiter if the kitchen was still open. Unfortunately he said they had just closed but went back to ask regardless and HOOKEDITUPPPPPP We got the beef burger medium rare which came with bacon, some awesome sauce, and a side of fries It was AMAZINGGGGG My only regret is not getting the name of one of the coolest and nicest servers I met during my trip to Seattle

Orgasmic food. I was pleasantly surprised with Quinn’s food. We were seated upstairs at this bi-level pub/restaurant. The place has very dim light and a modern/barIsh/casual/trendy décor. They have an enormous selection of beer for the beer lovers. You will not know what to choose. It is a gigantic diverse selection. And not just beer, fellow whiskey lovers… You are covered! I ended up choosing the house cocktail: Missed opportunity. I definitely did not miss the opportunity by ordering it. It was delicious. There was not a single item of the artisanal menu that I did not enjoy. The drinks, the appetizers, the entrees and the dessert were a feast of taste. Every single item which came to our table were made to perfection. This is one of these places that you can tell right away that every thing they serve comes with attention to detail, quality ingredients, know-how and perfect chemistry of flavors. We had the frites, painted hills burger(Absolutely delicious, juicy, made to perfection), roasted beet salad, burrito, lobster mushrooms and salted caramel brownie ice cream. I left this place feeling not only satisfied but also blown away by the culinary experience. Definitely recommend his place for good good good food. Did I mention how good the food is!!!

The atmosphere here is great. They play grunge rock muso(@least in the afternoon). They have a satisfying happy hour menu. I had the local oysters. The Virginica oysters taste awesome. I also had the salt cod fritters with a local Quinn’s ale. Perfect afternoon snack.

My bf & I came here for dinner while vacationing in Seattle. This place was mentioned on Anthony Bourdain’s trip to Seattle, WA so I had to stop by for a try! We came here on a weekend for dinner so I wasn’t surprise that this place was packed. I thought that it was pretty cool how they used a chalkboard for their waiting list. The place was dark with little gas lamps as each table. The crowd was loud & lively. We had the foie gras fries, bone marrow & the wild boar sloppy joe with duck egg. I really liked the foie gras fries, but my bf thought it was a bit thick/fattening. That just meant there was more for me! The bone marrow was salty in our opinion. Our favorite had to be the wild boar sloppy joe with duck egg to top it off :) There was a hint of spice to add to the taste. I would definitely come back here again if I was ever in town to try their other dishes!

Actual 4.5 stars… more about that later. This has been one of my favorite gastros for years. A wonderful old space with brick, stained glass, clustered lightbulb chandeliers, chipped cement pillars and wood everywhere, love the look! It was one of the first in industrial build outs before it became trendy to make something old look new. Classic capital hill employees, dress how you want, get a lot of tattoos, piercings and mess your hair up… cool. Our server had classic stories about his tattoos, quite entertaining and beautiful artwork. Tonight I enjoyed the salt cod fitters, painted hills steak tartare, painted hill beef burger, tempura fried green beans, ensalada Peruana salad, salted caramel brownie ice cream, chocolate pretzel, chocolate bar. I generally would breakdown each dish but no need too they were all absolutely F’N fabulous! I’ve never had a bad meal here and didn’t tonight. Note: the desserts are only $ 3. Gorgeous price and value! So why the .5 deduction on the rating you may ask? Our server was great though the couple of folks delivering the food were rather abrupt and literally dropped off the food and ran away?! Not really a big deal but it kept happening with every dish. I’m not looking for a kiss or anything but at least share with me what the food is before running off. At the end of the day you guys and gals rock!

Hanging out in Cap Hill on a Saturday night, where do we go? I always walk by this place, it seems to be always busy, nice looking crowd in there(as I straighten my collar), so something good must be going on, so we decided to try it out. There was only 3 of us, so we didnt want to wait for a table and we saw the bar had plenty of seats available so we sat there instead. Bartender was quick to greet us with waters and gave us time to look at the menu. Mainly we were more thirsty than hungry, so we ordered a few beers and checked out the menu, glad they have small items so we can share, so we started off with the Frites. It’s just french fries with some melted cheese and a veal demi-glacé on the bottom of the bowl. It was pretty good. We werent super hungry at first so we had a few more drinks then later ordered the Burrata Salad and the Tempura battered Green Beans. The salad was quite tasty, burrata was great, nice fresh greens, delicious figs, and a nice light dressing. Tempura Green Beans were pretty tasty as well, nice spicy dipping sauce to accompany, batter was a little thick but it’s easy to peel off and just eat the green bean. Didn’t really get deep into the menu on this visit, but may have to some other day, interesting dishes we saw like the Boar Sloppy Joe and the Cassoulet dish our bar neighbors were eating. It got busy in there real quick so it can get a bid loud and crowded in there. Bartender service was fine, friendly, chatted with us to make a good visit. Atmosphere was nice & comfy until it got crowded, but whatever. Glad we came to check it out, will probably go back whenever.

Food was superb — and we tried to eat all of it. Loved the olives and the foie gras frites. The bone marrow was, well, al dente ;), but soft enough to kinda spread and had a great flavor. Service was a bit slow and awkward, as the server seemed sheepish and didn’t know the beer selection very well(kept asking for a super bitter IPA and each time, the recommendation was less and less bitter). Would definitely come back. The atmosphere and food were fantastic!

3.5 stars. Quinn’s is known as one of Capitol Hill’s top-notch gastropubs, serving high quality food alongside a range of beers, wines and cocktails. My family and I dined here to celebrate my 21st birthday and it fit the occasion perfectly. Appetizers — The foie gras frites were very soggy with the overbearing amount of gravy. The cheese curds had a very distinctive bitter taste. The salt cod fritters were absolutely delicious! Similar to the consistency of a hush puppy, the fritters were made of a salty potato and fish filling. As my first time trying beef tartare, I was overwhelmed with the amount of raw meat. Everyone in my family enjoyed the dish, so perhaps it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Also, it didn’t come with enough crostini! Large plates — The painted hills beef burger was cooked exactly to my liking, with a savory and smokey flavor. Not the best burger in town, but still yummy nonetheless. As for the fish & chips, they were quite standard. But I quite enjoyed the homemade tartar sauce it was paired with. The wild boar sloppy joe was messy, but delicious! The duck egg & crispy onion straws made perfect additions to the sandwich. Drinks — I ordered a moscow mule, which turned out to be a very refreshing cocktail! There was a little too much lime juice, but I still enjoyed it. Quinn’s is a great place to grab a bite before heading for a night on the town!

Okay, I must update since I had a chance to come back to try the food! SOGOOD! Okay, granted we came here after a lonnng hike and lake swimming, and when we sat down we were like starved animals waiting to pounce on anything that landed in front of us. HOWEVER. This is my unbiased review of our meal! We started with the foie gras frites. When we first saw the item, we thought– that doesn’t look like foie gras! But our server gave us a tip to wait a few minutes for the foie gras to «melt» because it is shaved cold over the fries before being served, but it tastes(and looks) better once it has warmed a bit to its normal texture and color. Please take a moment to envision us 3 starving people with lake-water hair and dust-covered shoes sitting with our arms crossed, mouths watering, waiting for our first food item to be «ready» for us to devour. And then we did. In about 10 seconds. And it was glorious! The texture of the fries kind of reminded me of fried potato skins, and the sauce it was topped with was delicious as well. My bf had fries come with his entrée and I couldn’t help but steal some to dip in whatever sauce was leftover from the foie gras frites! As for our entrees, my bf was not a huge fan of the burger– it was a little bland for his taste, with just meat and cheese on the bun, and despite how hungry we were, he struggled to finish it. I, however, loved my wild boar sloppy joe with the extra duck egg(also recommended by our server). The runny egg yolk was the perfect addition to the dish, and the fried onions added that extra crispy surprise! Overall, I thought it was a very satisfying meal, and I would definitely come back(hopefully next time with clean hair and more appropriate attire)!

Quinn’s is a fantastic gastropub in the heart of everything hustly and bustly in Capitol Hill. We walked in at around 7 p.m. on a Monday night not really knowing what to expect. The menu seemed to be geared more towards drinking(the bar was packed), but since we were starving, we picked out a bunch of bites to eat from the menu. They are as follows… Charcuterie Platter Definitely didn’t bLrace myself for this type of a dish from a gastropub. The charcuterie here includes amazing pâtés, terrines and fruit mustard. Everything was surprisingly light but really, REALLY good. Roasted Bone Marrow This was not a favorite. The marrow was kind of… congealed. It was kind of hard to choke down. The good news is that this dish is definitely not indicative of the quality of Quinn’s other dishes. Just please don’t order this one. Summer Squash Tagliatelle Another winner! We didn’t originally know that the dish was made with Spaghetti Squash, but that made it even better. Great marriage of flavors with corn pudding, tomato and ricotta in the sauce with a grilled squash blossom to round out the dish. Lovely. Roasted Beet Salad I thought we would get the same ol’, same ol’ dish here — arugula with cut up beets and goat cheese tossed in. WRONG! Instead, the salad boasted delicious«arches» of perfectly fried, hazelnut-crusted goat cheese in addition to the usual beets and greens. Lots of originality, lots of taste. Good service — food came out in good time. Next time I go back, I’m hoping to try the scotch egg — sounds like the people of Unilocal have spoken and say that it’s delicious.

Came hungry, left satisfied. Ordered the wild boar sloppy joe with a duck egg(extra dollar or something, worth it though). Amazing. Accept the fact that it will get messy really quick. On a side note, a week later I watched Anthony Bourdain’s Layover Seattle episode and he recommended this dish. I liked Capital Hill because every establishment I went to the servers were super nice and personable. However, our server at Quinn’s was dull. Whatever doe, the food is bomb.

Whoo! Good food here that is not too mainstream — things like Boar Sloppy Joes and a large selection of draft beers! Super good meals here. The location is also great, right next to a lot of bars to continue the night after enjoying a meal here. The wait is not usually too long, but make sure your whole party is here or they won’t seat you. Waiters/waitresses were very nice and brought our food pretty quickly. Good restaurant experience overall.

I used to go here for drinks, a friend was in town and was recommended this place to eat the burger. I was told that zig zags was better but we tried Quinn’s I ordered the seared foie gras and my friends got the wild boar sloppy joe and burger Foie gras– seared well but did not understated the sides, a Greek yogurt parfait on top of a pickled veggie is not how I dreamed of devouring fatty bliss in my mouth… I ended up putting it in the burger and the sloppy joe for ultimate flavor and fatty goodness Sloppy joe was plentiful but the flavor was a bit light, I wish it was seasoned more The burger was done well but was standard The food wasn’t memorable for me but I did appreciate the seating space and ambience. Everyone that worked here was helpful too! Nice spot for intimate conversation and good times. Perhaps this is only a drink place
