So good! Tonight’s dinner was specially designed and prepared by a soon to graduate student from The Art Institute, and served by other students. This was one of the nicest dinners we had. It included A Lamb Roll for appetizer, then a grilled Belgium Endive and Pear salad, followed by smoked and grilled Hanger Steak. Dessert was a warm pumpkin pound cake with salted caramel ice cream and candied pecans. Everything was perfect!

Great food, interesting choice of appetizers & entrees, fresh seAsonal veggies. Attentive staff, most students of the culinary school. Great view from fifth floor overlooking Puget sound.

The bread was a bit rough and overly cooked but the entrees were delicious! My love and I ordered a bottle of wine which was at a very reasonable price and we had an amazing view of the mountains while watching the sun set. The students were very polite but the service was a bit slow, but you could not beat the price. Overall experience I would definitely go back and would love to try their spring dishes.

5−24−13. Wow, St. Johns Masonic Lodge #9 sponsored our group visit to this special gourmet dining experience. 20 of the Brothers came together and enjoyed the varied menu. Make a reservation to enjoy the outstanding food, western view, the servers and the intimate ambiance.

Wonderful experience interacting with future chefs and enjoying a 3-course meal in the process. There were misses on the execution(some items overdone and others under cooked), but overall a well conceived meal and delightful evening.

We had a fabulous dining experience at Portfolio when we went for a friend’s birthday. The food is all prepared by high-level culinary students and is made incredibly well. Service was impeccable and the prices are unbeatable. $ 23 for a 3 course dinner including an appetizer, entrée and dessert– and incredibly high quality food at that. Speed of food service can be a little slow, but come with friends or a date, enjoy the awesome view, and enjoy the pace of the meal. I think it’s a little slow due to the chefs being students and if it’s not perfect, the instructor makes them fix it before sending it out. Lots of wine and a few beers on the menu– all reasonably priced. Reservations are recommended as well. There is no listed vegetarian course(the menu is very meat and fish heavy) but I notified them in advance that I would need a meat-free meal and had no problems. In fact, the general consensus was that my food was better than the meat meals — even though everything was good. This is a great restaurant to take a date to, or your family. They also allow you to rent out the entire space if you can guarantee at least 30 people– great for large parties. Overall– we can’t wait to come back here! Quick tip– they only do one check per table– so bring cash. And all the tips go to a scholarship fund for the students.
