I was not sure what I was getting myself into after reading some of these reviews, but I want future visitors to know that you probably do not have anything to worry about.
Everyone I spoke to at this location was extremely friendly, and seemed genuinely concerned and there to help me.
I did not have my insurance card on me but that was okay because they already had it in their system from when I called and scheduled the appointment. I then waited until they called me back, which was not too long and was met by a nurse practitioner. She was really nice and just asked about my history, about my decision, took vitals, ultrasound, urine test, and blood sample.
I could not get the procedure I wanted (medical abortion) because my iron levels were too low so they worked with me to schedule an appointment exactly one week after so that I could take iron supplements. Unfortunately when I came back in my iron was still too low, but everyone I discussed it with wanted to get to the bottom of it and reminded me that I was anemic and could come back in or go to my primary care provider to figure out the cause.
Because of this I ended up doing the in-​clinic abortion the same day, which I was thankful for. At this clinic they can only do minimal sedation which I was wary about but the procedure only lasted max 10 minutes, and the assistant and doctor really comforted me through it. I was at the clinic for almost four hours but I had a special circumstance and it did not seem like that long at all.
Overall I would highly recommend the clinic. It’s clean. practical, and the staff is really friendly and attentive. I felt welcome and acknowledged. I was glad that this tough decision was followed by a good experience.

DO NOT COME HERE. THEY WILL CHEAT YOU OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
I would definitely give it a ZERO star if that was an option. I have created a Unilocal account just for this review. My review is for the all the times I have visited. The wait time is HORRIBLE, even when you have scheduled an appointment. I’ve had to wait for 45 minutes PAST my actual appointment time every single time I visited — and I see other patients going in before me who were doing a walk-​in. I don’t know their scheduling system but they definitely need to improve on that.
Not only that, but the admin girls at the front desk definitely cheated me of my money. I HAVE INUSRANCE — why would I have to pay anything more than my $ 20 copay? But I did — I paid $ 20 cash in the beginning and then later paid the rest in credit card after my checkup. Later, I found out my insurance should have covered it so I called up my insurance to get it reimbursed. They shorted me $ 20 and I asked why? They said I didn’t pay the copay so they just took it off from my reimbursement. I said I did in cash, they said I would need to call planned parenthood financials services. The lady for the planned parenthood financial rep said there was never any $ 20 cash being paid (not in the system). So basically, the girl at the front desk pocketed my $ 20…

After reading all of the bad reviews of the staff on Unilocal and Google before my appointment, I was really anxious and worried that I was going to have a frustrating experience. I usually see my regular gynecologist but Swedish doesn’t offer abortion services since they partnered with Providence, booo.
I had an 8:30 am Tuesday appt for an aspiration abortion and IUD insertion after I tried to have a medical abortion a week before but not all of the pregnancy had evacuated. I showed up about 15 minutes early, the woman at the desk already had my info from my previous visit and let me know that to wait until they called me up.
I waited the normal amount of time you would expect in any Dr.‘s office before being seen, at least 15 minutes during which I read all of the info sheets they gave me. I was called to an exam room by a medical assistant who took my vitals, took my history and went over the info she already had in my chart from the earlier visit. She did the transvaginal ultrasound to see if the pregnancy passed because I had some bleeding since my last check-​up. The pregnancy tissue was still present so she said we’ll move forward with the aspiration.
After I put my pants back on, she came back in the room about 10 minutes later to thoroughly go over the information about the procedure and sedation and answer any questions I might have. She also needed me to sign the consent, some of the history data input and digital signing stuff took a while because they had switched over to IDC-​10 so the assistant had some trouble navigating the system, but this only delayed things like 10 or 15 minutes.
It’s about 9:30 when I finish with this first part. I waited a few more minutes in another waiting room for an ARNP to take me another room where she asked me a few questions, gave me a one time dose antibiotic and offered me a snack. Then back to main waiting room until they are ready for the aspiration.
About 15 minutes later they call me back to another exam room to start the procedure. The medical assistant was really nice, made me comfortable and held my hand (which I didn’t think was necessary until we got started). The Dr. and Resident MD were very calm and nice and let me know what all was going on down there. I wanted to drive myself home so I asked for no sedation (don’t do what I did). It was probably the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced but the assistant did a nice job of talking to me and trying to keep me distracted. The MDs talked to me the whole way through and let me know how much longer. They did an ultrasound at the very end even though it’s not something they always do, just to make sure they got everything out. It really gave me peace of mind.
After the aspiration, the IUD was a walk in the park. They let me lie on the table for a few more minutes until I felt ok to move, then took me to a recovery area where another assistant made sure I knew what to do after I left. She gave me snacks and a drink, talked to me (or rather listened to me while I chatted her up) which helped distract from my cramps until I was ready to go home. She handed me my written Rx’s, one of them was missing so she stepped away for a few minutes and came back with it, no wait, very polite.
I left the office around 10:30 — 11:00am. No rude assistants or secretaries, no long waits, at least not longer than anyone would expect at any MD’s office. All of the staff members were very attentive and caring. I hope this helps any nervous patients going to this branch of PP for the first time.

I’ve been here 3 – 4 times as a second option when my Planned Parenthood on First Hill was closed. Every time I have gone to the Capitol Hill location I have been given awful service from the women at the front desk. They are very rude and dismissive. They’re always talking rather than acknowledging people who are waiting in line. I’ve even been told to be seated while they get to me and then completely forgotten about. I’ve gone to a Planned Parenthood for about 3 years now and have gone to the locations in Kent, Capitol Hill and First Hill. If you have a choice, definitely go to the First Hill location. The front desk there and the entire staff is very friendly and attentive. The front desk at the Capitol Hill location can’t even meet basic needs and always make you leave feeling like you wish you had just gone to your First Hill location on another day.

PROS: I LOVE that they ask you A LOT of questions to know what might be going on with your body internally. Also they suggest what treatment you should take and if you want to have those tests and know the results that same day as well. (Blood)
CONS: I got my bill from 2 – 3 medical tests I took and it costs me around $ 500+. My urine results took 1 – 2 WEEKS! While my results from other clinic only took 2 – 3 days! (Same urine test)
But overall, if you want to have a FULL self exam then this is the best clinic for you.
Staff are same OK nice, nothing special.

Someone did follow up with me regarding my awful experience but it seemed like a load a crap! Really sad because I really liked my doctor she was the only great thing about the clinic props to her and her only because the front desk is terrible very unprofessional!

You guys sent my wife to collections over $ 7.92 (and a disgustingly disproportionate erroneous $ 75 late fee). Seriously. She was lied to, and told that the insurance would handle it, and that he didn’t need to worry about any bill. Lo and behold one year later, her credit score tanks, and we are getting harassed by collection agencies.
You guys had the wrong address on file, and never bothered to call her before you ruined her credit.
I refuse to donate anymore to such a petty organization.
To any in need of services provided here: Be on constant edge. These people are either completely inept, or have malicious intent. Beware of deceptive billing practices. This is a bottom denominator clinic.

Awful receptionist service here. I don’t know why they can’t figure out something so simple. In the first incident, one of them said my insurance was no longer active. I called my insurance and they said it should be. The next time I came in another receptionist said my birth date for my insurance does not match with their system. She told me to call the insurance. I called them while waiting in the clinic. They said my birth date is correct and they were confused themselves about what the clinic was trying to figure out. I told the receptionist what my insurance said and she said she didn’t know and told me to call the financial department. Wasn’t that her job? Also she was rushing me to fill out a form to agree to pay if my insurance won’t go through. Why would she RUSH me while I was talking to my insurance AND none of this was my fault?!

I made an appointment weeks in advance as I knew I would be traveling out of state for weeks to come. When I showed up 10 minutes prior to my appointment, they claimed I didn’t have an appointment and I could get line for a «walk in» even though I received a phone call just the day prior to my appointment confirming my appointment and walking me through my insurance coverage. I waited for two and a half hours after the time of my scheduled appointment before I was even seen. I originally took off two hours from work, however I needed more like four/​five as a result of this delay — it was extremely frustrating. If I ever return, I will be calling to confirm at least three times
Other than that, the staff was great, the building was clean and there is parking, so no complaints there.

I had never been to a PP so I didn’t know what to expect but I ended up really impressed. There’s free parking in a lot right outside and the building is new and beautiful. The waiting room is very spacious so it’s easy to have privacy. The staff was great, professional and helpful, although I admit some seemed a bit intimidating at first. If I need their services again I will definitely be coming back to this location, even though it’s not the closest to where I live.

I was Skeptical after reading some of the reviews on Unilocal.I took my chances and headed down to the office on Madison because it was open on Saturdays. To my surprise it was extremely pleasant. Had a quick check in, receptionist was cordial considering how early it was on a Saturday morning and extremely helpful. I would definitely use their services again and recommend highly.

When I first moved to Seattle a month ago, I tried to walk-​in to the Kent Planned Parenthood clinic at 4:30 PM, and I was informed that the provider had already gone home for the day. No worries, I still had a few weeks left in my birth control packet, so I made an appointment at this location which is closer to my home. Apparently providers going home early is a trend within this whole organization, because when I arrived for my appointment I was informed that no one was there, and that in the system someone notated that I had been informed by voicemail that my appointment was cancelled that afternoon. I had received a call confirming my appointment the night before, and no missed call or voicemail thereafter. They couldn’t schedule me for another appointment until next week (after my pill packet will have been long gone). I don’t understand how a medical clinic can be so irresponsible and unprofessional. At the very least I hope they offer me a complimentary abortion should I need one due to their lack of basic service.

My experience at Planned Parenthood was outstanding. Each person I spoke with, from the women at the front desk to the medical assistants and nurse practitioners to the doctors, was absolutely wonderful. I found the staff to be compassionate, caring, and efficient. As a dental office manager myself, I know how challenging it can be to keep the schedule running in a timely manner, but this team did an excellent job considering the number of patients in the office that day. The office was clean, comfortable, and obviously well-​cared for. Thank you for making my experience as pleasant as possible!

I’m writing another review because I AM PISSED! During my visit I was told I owed $ 500. I didn’t understand why but I paid it anyways and planned to research it later. Well I just happened to review the EOB for This service and seen my patient responsibility was only $ 292… So why was I told $ 500? No call about a refund, mistake, nothing! Guess they’re just going to hang on TO MY $ 208 & not say a thing.

I was at this location yesterday and had another awesome experience! The facility is beautiful. The front desk ladies were friendly and quick. There were a few men and women in the waiting room but it was not crowded. I was seen in a timely manner and found my clinician friendly and knowledgable. She knew what she was talking about and she made me feel comfortable and not embarrassed to be there. These women are the best! They really care and have always been there for me.

I came here to pick up some Plan B emergency contraception because it is cheaper here than anywhere else. The location is nice and clean and the front desk receptionist is friendly. The woman in the back on the other hand was cold, mean, and made me feel like I was some murderer. She literally made me stand there for over five minutes, knowing damn well I was the only person in line. When she came to the counter she said, «What do you want?» She then got the pill, tossed it on the counter at me and said, «sign this» as she tossed the receipt down. I am not sure if she hates her job or just downright hates men, but maybe she should work somewhere else.
I think next time I will just be paying the extra $ 20 and going elsewhere.

I have been attending this PP for around two years and consistently leave this facility feeling awful due to the administrative staff. I have never had a problem with the practitioners or the nurse staff (the only reason why I continue to return), however the two women that work at the front desk clearly convey they do not like their jobs by persistently negative and rude behavior. I return to this facility for the practitioners, however my last experience was so poor with the admin staff that I think I will try the first hill facility instead. I do not know why either of the front desk ladies went into the non-​profit industry when they clearly do not belong.

I went to PP in California when I was a poor college student. When I first moved to Washington, I had a job at a tiny company who didn’t offer insurance so, again, I headed to PP. I now have a job with regular insurance, but when I poorly planned the timing of needing my BC refilled, I couldn’t find a gyno on my insurance who was both accepting new patients and had something open when I needed to get in, so I still went back to PP. They have super flexible appointment times and all 3 of the times I’ve been here I’ve been completely happy with the level of care and professionalism. One time I was 15 minutes late for my appointment and they still managed to see me (I waited another ~15 minutes or so. Not bad, it was my fault).
They have a private parking lot and unlike some other locations, I’ve yet to encounter the crazy pro-​lifers that make me uncomfortable when all I’m doing is getting basic healthcare. I was a bit bummed that when my insurance changed at work and they no longer covered the type of BC I was on, they couldn’t change it to another brand and fax it in over the phone, I actually had to go in for an appointment (and pay a co-​pay), but since they were able to get me in with an evening appointment the following day I can’t complain too much.

I guess «free» reproductive health will always win a rave review from the others but for me, my time is do much more valuable than that.
So when I moved into the area and hadn’t yet established a regular doc, I decided to try these guys. So I’m there for my 2:40pm appointment and while sitting in the reception area at 3:35pm I begin realizing there are still several people ahead of me. I then ask how much longer I’m looking at. The receptionist returns after speaking with doc man and informs me it will be no less than 30 minutes. and most likely after 4pm!
So I’m looking at nearly two hours before even getting back to see the doctor. I’ve never ever waited that long with any medical appointment.

I’ve been coming to this particular location for about a year now, and can say with certainty that the staff is overall really pleasant to deal with, the wait times to see someone once I’ve checked in have never been any longer than 20 minutes, the ladies who check your blood pressure and do the intro questions are really nice, and although I’ve seen a different doctor each time I’ve been here, they’ve also been nice and very thorough in their exams and in answering questions and offering various remedies for whatever issue I may bring up. It caaaan be a bit crowded if it’s a walk in day. It’s usually been easy for me to get an appointment either the same day or within the next 24 hours (by calling the 1800 PP appointment line), and I have been offered appointments at nearby locations that were the same day if i really wanted a same day appointment.
They do hit you up for a donation when you check in with the exit window, which some may find annoying, but they don’t guilt trip you if you say no right then and there, and that’s more a national PP thing than this particular location specifically.
