Patty-Moriarty

Absolutely, unequivocally five stars. Heck, six or seven or fifteen stars, even. I’ve sold and bought three houses with Patty and every time, the experience was easy, fun, and relatively painless. I’ve also recommended her to several friends who’ve had similar experiences.
Patty is a listener – she hears what you *mean* when you talk about your dream house or your dream deal, even if you don’t use the most precise words. She just gets it. She’s been in the business long enough to know all about Seattle neighborhoods and catches things that inspectors don’t even see. And when you’re prepping your house for sale, she’s right next to you, peeling tape and sweeping porches (hope I’m not overpromising! :-)).
If I weren’t so happy in my current house (which Patty found for me when I was only just starting to make noises about it – she knew more about what I needed than I did!), I’d go buy another one, just so I could hang out with Patty and look at houses and hear her excellent insights.

I can finally say I am the proud owner of my first home with the help of my amazing my real estate agent Patty!!! A family member had used her services to sell their house and spoke highly of her as an agent so I had to find out for myself — and boy am I glad I did.
I gave Patty a call and told her my boyfriend and I were ready to buy our first house together. She informed us that the first step would be to get pre-​approved to see how much we qualified for. She was able to refer us to a mortgage broker that she enjoyed working with in the past (see my review on Sky Mortgage if you need a recommendation) and we were approved in less than 2 weeks.
To start, Patty asked us to do a homework assignment if you will — for my boyfriend and I to sit down separately and each come up with a list of our top 5 things we wanted in a home. Even though we had both discussed this before hand, surprisingly we had completely different lists in means of importance so it was a great assignment. We agreed on a final list and let our agent know and the process was started.
I was receiving new emails daily from our agent with lists of homes that matched our «want list» and were still in our price range. We ended up seeing about 30 houses in person (over a couple of different days of course) and finally found the perfect little gem in Ballard. We slept on it overnight and then decided to put in an offer and after some negotiations, we got it! With all the time Patty spent helping us locate the perfect home I would have never guessed that she had other clients to attend to. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with.
I was incredibly nervous going into this process after all of the «It’s so stressful» stories I had heard (I have enough stress already in my daily life), but I can honestly say that I had not one ounce of stress working with Patty. I know who I’m going to call when I’m ready to sell this one, and buy the next!
