I just called the phone number listed above and got a message that the number is no longer in service. I haven’t driven by, but the phone message and previous post about paper over the windows makes me suspect that the restaurant is closed.

Great food and service, a little pricey but appropriate for the hood. Is it still open? just drove by and paper over the windows. Remodel? #parkplacedeli

Its times like this that i wish no stars were an option. This deli charges me 2 dollars for the choice of store bought gluten free bread. The same brand i carry at home. That alone annoys me. Let alone their inattentive service and tiny portions. I wont be returning here.

I recently moved to the Madison Park Neighborhood & am a big fan of local places so I found this place on Unilocal and decided to try it out. My boyfriend & I walked our dog to this local deli, ordered a whole roast beef sandwich and took it home. The sandwich was huge. Piles of fresh roast beef and veggies. It was very good and well worth the 9 bucks for a fresh real deli sandwich. Definitely my new go to deli in my new neighborhood.

The service is amazing! The guy who helped me had red hair and was so nice and their tuna melts are amazing. He even made hot cocoa for two little kids when it wasn’t even on the menu!

I have purchased many a delicious sandwich from this deli and have yet to be disappointed with the deliciousness. However, the service this past weekend was an entirely different story. The fact that the sandwiches are good and the location is convenient is the reason I’m leaving two stars instead of one, as I will most likely return. If this had been a brand new place in a neighborhood farther from my house, I would never go back. I was really disappointed to find out that the bad service came from the owner, of all people. My friend and I stood waiting for our sandwiches for half an hour while the owner entertained a woman and her baby and, when asked to help, playfully refused his two employees doing all the work. Since one of the employees seemed to be only on register, one guy was making all the sandwiches. Orders were getting backed up, mixed up, and lost. Two people behind us in line got their food before we did and a woman that was already waiting when we got in line was still waiting when we left. The owner didn’t seem to care at all about his employees and definitely didn’t care about any customers aside from the woman and her baby. This is a small neighborhood deli so waiting is to be expected when there’s a decently long line and only one or two people making food. That being said, I think 30 minutes is excessive, and the owner’s disrespect for his employees was really off putting. Definitely a bummer tainting what used to be a lotta love for this place.

This place is a great deli for a quick bite to eat. They have daily specials and everything seems to be made pretty fresh. If you’re looking for a hearty breakfast sandwich — get the Egg & Bacon one. I wasn’t expecting to get this sammy on two huge slices of toasted sour dough with mayo, lettuce & tomato, bacon and eggs cooked however you please, along with a mini bag of Tim’s potato chips. It was an amazing way to get rid of my slight hangover and get the day started. Their chicken salad is one of my other favorites as well. The service isn’t anything to brag about, but the prices aren’t steep and it’s an easy in and out type process. I can’t wait to go back and try to Quiche!

Huge portions! If you eat more than half a sandwich here, then you are probably being weighed on some type of farm equipment. They are great. Everything is so fresh and homemade. I love it. I had their chicken-salad and the corn chowder and it was fantastic. I took one star away because the guy behind the counter could not even muster a smile. I don’t know what it is about Seattle, but people don’t seem real happy here. Maybe it’s because your losing money on your huge sandwiches. Just a thought.

This place has morphed from one thing to another over the years, always a café/deli form but its always changing… What’s not always changing? The mediocre food and just plain grumpy associates that work there. I watched as a girl unceremoniously squished roast beef onto a ladies sandwich and making a multiple sadwich order one at a time took her forevor. When the woman asked another associate(who came over to help the poor girl out) to cut one of the sandwiches in fourths he actually rolled his eyes, sighed and shook his head scowling at the woman… I mean come on people its a freaking sandwich! My curry chicken sandwich was ok at best, would have been better if they had warmed the pita for a few seconds and actually did something other then plop their curry salad into a pita and hand it over. Overall I’m not exactly impressed, it sucks especially because this is a prime location… why hasn’t anything AMAZING gone in here yet?

This is our favorite spot for breakfast with the dog in Madison Park. Hint: you have to ask for the breakfast menu, it’s usually hidden behind the counter. When getting the Feta omelette, you may want to ask them to go light on the Feta or it will be too salty. They have drip coffee, but pass on the Espresso drinks as they don’t have that skill in house. But, they are dog friendly which is great and the food is otherwise darn homey and good.

OK good people, this is a great place to scoop a latte while waiting for your name to be called at Madison park café. Delicious fonte coffee, neighboorhoody, but not quite cosy.

Popped in here last weekend to grab a sandwich while walking the dog(we were HUNGRY after walking down from Capital Hill). JP went in to order something for us to share so we kept it simple… did a basic turkey and cheese but you know what? It was pretty darn good… there’s something about a simple sandwich that takes you back to lunches as a kid and I liked that. A half sandwich runs about $ 6, a whole $ 9. We received a bag of chips with our sandwich and were able to sit outside and eat it before continuing on our walk with the dog. My only gripe is why don’t more delis out here serve a pickle with their sandwich? I would much rather have that than the chips.

I’ve only been here once, but the guy behind the counter was friendly and my tuna melt was pretty good. ~$ 9 for a tuna melt with a bag of chips! This is a perfect place to grab a sandwich on your way to Madison Park Beach. Great beach food. I’ve had tastier tuna salad(I think it could have used some more salt and pepper), but the addition of Mama Lil’s Peppers was nice(although not as spicy as advertised).

They display art for sale on the deli’s walls. While the paintings are supposed to be flowers, I had to look closely, because some of them looked like genitalia. You definitely get a sense of the money here in Madison Park, and the sense of privilege it gives some people. Some old lady let her impeccably groomed and foofy snow white Bichon Frise run around the restaurant. I don’t know why, but when I see those dogs, I think of Barbra Streisand. Quite a nice selection of cold and hot sandwiches. At least three soups too. You can get a grilled cheese sandwich for only $ 3.50(so there, Grilled Cheese Grill on Alberta in P-Town!) I chose a whole«Europa», which is fontina cheese, prosciutto and Italian vinegarette. It wasn’t crowded, even though it was noontime when I was here. However, it took a long time for the cook to prepare my order. The owner was aware and cracked to me that the music being played(jazz) was slowing them down. Then he asked the cook, who was wearing a rumpled lime-green terrycloth shirt, where my sandwich was. Maybe the cook was already pissy before I got there, but when he finally handed me my sandwich he also served me a king-sized dollop of glowering aloofness. Poor dear! So I took the sandwich home and was a bit perplexed. In the brown bag, I found something wrapped in white paper, closed with a stripe of scotch tape. Inside was not one, but two, whole sandwiches. So you are getting your money’s worth. Texturally, the Europa was great, coming with a crispdelicious sandwich roll. However, I didn’t care so much for the vinegarette they splashed in the sandwich. It had an overwhelming olive flavor and was kind of sour. Also Inside the brown paper bag, besides the complimentary Tim’s Original Lightly Salted Chips, was this rolled up little white bag, also sealed with scotch tape. I wondered what was in it. After untaping it and unrolling and unrolling and unrolling it, I found… a pickle! All that packaging for a pickle! Because there is such a variety of options, as displayed on their chalkboard, and because of Park Deli’s proximity to the lake, I would come back.

This is a cute little deli with a great selection of items – I ordered the turkey sandwhich with the tomato soup. The sandwhich was excellent – lots of turkey and the mustard on it was excellent. I always love tomato soup – this was thick and chunky, but it was only luke warm which is why this place didn’t get 5 stars. Other than that, the service was quick and friendly and I’ll likely be back!

This place is now called Park Place Deli. Regardless of what it’s called, it sure is good. Their sandwiches are oh-so fresh, and soups so comforting. The day I visited, I was recoving from a nasty cold. Their tomato basil soup made me forget my woes. The service was great, too. The guys behind the counter were really friendly. I just had to laugh when one of them said I looked like one of the kids from Camp Rock.(Made me feel a little better about turning 30 a few days before!) Good stuff!

I stopped here for lunch one day and got a veggie sandwich and salad. I’m not a huge fan of veggie sandwiches but I’m trying to be good about going meatless and not cheat on any of the scrumptious meat-filled concoctions they had. The sandwich was pretty good and the salad would have been great if I were a fan of sweet vinaigrettes, but I’m not really. I think if you like them though, you’d probably think it was awesome. I will going back for sure because they had too many things that looked oh-so-good that I want to try. Plus the guy(the owner maybe? he had that kind of «I run this place» feel about him) called me by name the whole time I was there, and said«bye Megan», when I left. That’s pretty unheard of, but cool. I felt like I’d been there a 1000 times. Plus I like the tables outside where I leashed up my pup and people watched. I dig it.

Diana L. inspired me to run 2x around the Seward Park peninsula. Mostly by calling me a wuss. So I dragged my ass out of bed and did exactly that. Exhilarating? Yes. Exhausting? Yes. I had to head over to Madison Park to return some gear I bought at City People’s, so I figured I’d search for a nice breakfast place to gorge myself in and un-do all the work I had just done. I parked down at the end of Madison and started walking. I saw this spot, but it looked like it was all sandwiches. Kept going and found a disturbing lack of breakfast spots down there. WTF do rich people not eat breakfast or something? I remembered reading something about a bacon and egg sandwich(see Shera M.‘s review below) in this spot, so, with heavy heart and sore feet I traipsed through the door. The feller inside was pretty friendly. They were out of coffee but he had a fresh pot already brewed and ready to go. That’s right, I got the maiden coffee voyage. Come sail away, folks, come sail away. I ordered up one of these bacon and egg sandwiches, and plopped down to wait. Locals were walking in, and it seemed like the friendly guy knew them all. He got a little girl giggling over the idea that raisins were once grapes. Come on! That’s ridiculous! :P My sandwich was delivered, and Shera was right… WOW. Regardless of the fact that I really wanted a ‘breakfast’(I was kinda thinking waffles actually), this really did the trick on a chilly yet sunny spring day. Like a BLT but with egg… a BELT. A bit of fruit on the side rounded it off nicely. If you’re in the area and feeling like something breakfast-ish, this is a solid bet.

Bistro & Bites was sold & bought by new owner John sometime last year but remains fantastic — and dare I say, improved. John has not yet decided if he should keep the name Bistro Bites or switch it to Park Place Deli. I don’t care what he calls it, as long as the food remains the same. The new man in charge keeps the place spiffy, the food tasty and the conversation great. My husband and I are now weekend regulars for the excellent breakfast deals. We used to go to a café down the street but got tired of the long waits, rushed experience and prices. Our favorite is the bacon and egg breakfast sandwich, which comes with a delicious fruit salad, and any of the sandwiches for lunch time. This place perfect in the summer because your sandwiches come with chips, a fruit and packed for the beach just down the road. I can’t recommend it enough. Don’t be shy; stroll in and eat something!

So, I’m confused. I grabbed a menu so that I’d remember the name of this place for this review… the menu says Park Place Deli. But the awning says Bistro & Bites. Curious. That being said, I arrived in Madison Park about a half hour early for an appointment with Jill(review coming next) so I stopped by here for lunch on a whim. Wendall, they guy behind the counter, was very friendly and allowed me some time to peruse and decide what I wanted. They have paper menus, a huge menuboard, a smaller menuboard, and a display case with salads and the quiches… lots of menu overload, even though most of them said the same thing. I opted for a lunch combo with a sandwich and small salad. It came out to $ 8 even… just like on the board. I guess they price things to come out that way, which is awesome!!! He asked my name and I reluctantly gave it to him(I don’t like giving my name at places, it just confuses people) and automatically spelled it out of habit. I told him that I didn’t like giving my name for that reason and he empathized with me, telling me his name. It’s a cozy place, like I would imagine a small town deli to be. The other employees were very friendly as well. My turkey breast sandwich was delicious with it’s french bread yumminess! I seem to consistently have bread to insides ratio issues with sandwiches, but I did not this time. Whoo hoo! The salad was excellent as well, topped with walnuts, blue cheese, and raspberry vinagarette. Yum! I ate fast enough to make my appointment, but not too fast to not enjoy it. I’m a fan of quiche as well, so I’m probably gonna have to go back and try that next time.
