Nice for intimate shows with limited seating. The historic charm remains and the inside is really something. It could stand a good cleaning and upgrading of seats, carpets, etc. But for now, it’s a pleasant venue. They have a separate bar area that is usually not too crowded. Reasonable prices for snacks, beverages, etc. The restroom situation could be better. On my last visit the most conveniently located restroom was labeled as «staff only»? I never did look for and find the downstairs restrooms — seemed like customers should not have too. Still, a solid 3.5 rounded up to a Unilocal 4.

I have been to the Paramount Theater many times and I am never disappointed. The facility is beautiful inside and I don’t think there is a bad seat in the whole place. We were there to see the Broadway Musical ‘Newsies’. This upbeat musical with lots of dancing and singing was a joy from beginning to end. The scenery was clever the way it was constructed and moved for each of the scenes. This was such a fun night that we picked up a souvenir on our way out. I would recommend this musical to everyone and this venue also!

I attended the Paramount for the first time on 2/27, and it’s a great venue. Although older, this theatre is a great location to see a comedian, musical, or band. The acoustics are fab. We were seated in the last row on the bottom section and heard everything perfectly. The seating is old school theatre seats where you are slopping downwards, the armrests don’t move and you get cozy to your chubby neighbor but nothing to complain about here. The ceiling and walls have lovely art deco designs, and the curtains on the sidelines add to the ambiance. The ushers were friendly, and although someone wasn’t happy that she wasn’t allowed to take her beer outdoors, the staff was still professional about it. There’s not an elevator so if you get seats in the balcony, be prepared to climb. Also, the restrooms are two floors down from the main floor and no elevator to them either.

They have only the best top-notch shows here. Saw Blue Man Group and it was an unforgettable experience. Seats were great even from the balcony. But the building itself is worth seeing all on its own. It’s living history. The great guilded columns, the grand, wide, red-carpeted curving staircases, the massive chandeliers, were all so «decadant Hollywood era» that it was awe inspiring. It is really worth getting there early and using intermission to explore the amazing building in detail and just soak it in. I could easily picture 1930s long gowns and elbow length gloves sweeping through those hallways and staircases. What a remarkable place and fabulous venue to see a top-quality show – the very best Broadway shows are performed here.

I enjoy the Paramount Theater. I’ve been here for concerts, comedians, musicals, etc. I am not going to say anything that hasn’t already been said BUT I did want note that you can now bring drinks into the theater with you! For $ 3 you can purchase a reusable cup(with a lid) for your cocktail and use this to take your drink into the show! I was so excited when I saw the sign last time and even though I could not partake this past visit, I did look longingly and with jealously to everyone that had a drink of some sort. You can bring the cup back for next time(it’s dishwasher safe!). Now, I am not sure if you can get this at the little concession stand but you can for sure get it at the bar(walk in to the theater, turn left(passed the merch) and there you’ll find the bar!

We’ve been Broadway season ticket holders at the Paramount for the past few years and this is one of the best venues in Seattle! Experiencing Wicked, Mama Mia, Book of Mormon, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Evita, and a number of other shows here has been a spectacular experience! This building keeps its elegant interior with the crystal chandeliers and intricate details on the pillars and walls which I find a nice change from all the sterile glass and concrete buildings of today’s modern architecture. Every employee that I’ve interacted with has been really nice and very helpful. There are a couple drawbacks with this venue: 1. How the seats are very narrow and not very comfortable 2. The main floor isn’t staggered enough so if someone tall is sitting in front of you bye bye central view of the stage.

Not just a fantastic venue, but a great piece of living history as well. Go for a Broadway show, a lecture, a comedy event, or a concert and you will get to see the different audience configurations they can use — it’s an amazingly versatile venue. Go early just to check out the amazing gilded carved plaster and multiple crystal chandeliers if it’s your first time. I’ve never had a bad experience here, even when it’s packed. FREETOURS on the First Saturday of every month will show you the way the seats fold up under the floor, all of the intricacies of backstage, the AMAZING Theatre Organ(one of only a few that is still in it’s original location and working), and much more. We were able to view the projection room on our tour as well, but it’s not always open depending on what show is going on at the time. They discuss the history, architecture, renovation and restoration in a way that is engaging and fun for the whole group. Highly recommended. Ticket Sales — save $$ by using the kiosk or box office if you’re near downtown to avoid the additional ticketing fee. It can be as high as $ 8 — 10 per ticket just for buying on the internet.

Great show for Book of Mormon in December 2015! Seems every seat in the house is a great seat. Couldn’t have had a funnier show with such a great cast! And every employee I interacted with was friendly and positive and gave me a very good impression that the Paramount is a great place to be. Go to the Paramount and go to the Book of Mormon(unless it’s already sold out!) Only one gripe — the seats are small. It’s enough space but I was a little uncomfortable trying to hold onto my winter coat and my purse under my seat.

Perfect venue and the beautiful 1920’s interior still intact. This place is gorgeous inside and takes you back to the«roaring twenties». What amazing detail inside! Of all of the theaters I have been in throughtout the world this place is one of my favorites. It is very large inside, but well thought out in its design. The lobby is large with big bathrooms downstairs and then various bathrooms on different levels. I believe there are about 5 levels easily accessed by stairs, but I am sure somewhere there is an elevator. Of the two times that I have been inside they have had small bars on EACH level serving a variety of things from food to wines. The seating is not overly tight as I think the Key Arena is and they seats are comfortable. First time I was here I sat on the main floor for Wynton Marsalis and I found the acoustics to be amazing. Last night we sat at the very top of the theater; I was late at getting tickets to Mythbusters Live. Still the seats were very good and could see everything well, expect that there were lights or a speaker that blocked the top of the video screen. So I would avoid the top row(section) unless price or availability was an issue. Staff has always been amazing and never a problem getting in or out of the theater; crowds just stream in and out. Anyhow a beautiful place and a must if you have never been!!!

I’ve been to a lot of venues in Seattle, but the Paramount really stands out. Not just because it’s a historic venue. Not just because it has a bright sign. Not just because it’s classy and beautiful. It’s because there’s a story there to be told, and an experience to be had from start to finish. First off, getting in did not take very long at all. Unlike other venues you may visit, the process to get in the door is quick and efficient. There’s a simple bag check and pat down, and you’re in. Bathrooms are on the bottom floor, and the line can get quite long. A good amount of stalls. There are multiple bar areas, and I love getting to the actual theatre part. The seats are arranged in such a way that if there’s someone taller seated in front of you, you’re still able to see over their heads. The audio is good, and they have great lighting. I’ve been here for a couple events and always have a great time. Last night in particular, it was a general admission for the seating, which was a little weird, but it worked. I’d recommend getting a seat in front of a railing so if people start standing up, it’s easier to see. It’s in downtown, so you could pay to park, or you could just park a couple blocks away on the street for free. I look forward to returning!

I see 2 shows(at least) each year. There are great seats, good seats, and bad seats. The venue is NOT handicap friendly. If you can’t do stairs, this isn’t the place for you. Beautiful architecture and old theater feel. Sound is tough at times depending on where your sitting.

As far as Seattle theaters go, this one is very nice. They have maintained it well and it seats a ton of people! I’ve been here for musicals, concerts, and stand up — so far I haven’t had a bad seat! And prices have been less than shows at KeyArena! Being that this theater is old, if you have cheap seats, there will be many flights of stairs up which to climb. Fortunately there are also restrooms near the top so you’re not SOL if you have to use one before the show or at intermission. Snacks, beer, and wine here are also good and plenty — and it’s a bonus that they let you take things back to your seat with you — not that you’d be brazen enough to rifle through your bag of candy during the show! I’ve always gone with a wine-o friend so it’s nice that she doesn’t have to guzzle down her wine in the 10 minute intermission, but rather she can sip throughout the second act!

Everything from Hozier and Fun to Cinderella! I love this place. What’s not to love! It’s a stunning theatre with equally stunning shows. I’ve attended many events from Anthony Bourdain to Hozier, Fun and many many magical musicals like Cinderella, Aladdin, The Book of Mormon and so on. It’s always so wonderful to be here. Theatre is technically three levels but based on your seating choice, it could be up to five story or higher. And all stairs! No elevators! So if you can’t climb a ton of stairs, your best bet is the main floor seats. Second floor mezzanine is still good if you get the first section. But the third floor! Yea forget it. You are far far away! You can still see and be apart of the musicals but it is pretty high up. Concerts are a different story though. They take all the chairs out from the main floor! It’s a standing room only! You can always sit on the floor but really, who sits on the floor when there’s an awesome band playing! Bathrooms are way downstairs from the main floor or right there on the higher ones. You can preorder your drinks, snacks and food for intermission to skip the line. They have food from dahlia lounge! Some wine and coffee/hot chocolate! Overall, it’s a beautiful venue with equally beautiful shows. Cinderella was absolutely magic this year. I mean, how did she just twirl on stage from raggedy dress to a ball gown!!? Howwwww!?? All she did was twirl! And viola! Men, women and kiddies were all in awe and clapping!!! So amazing!!! It’s magic!

My bf bought tickets for Wicked!!! I was so excited to watch it again :) However, we barely made it in on time for the show so I can’t say much about the theater itself. I liked that there were attendants in the restrooms directing you to the open stalls and counting down the minutes until the show started. SUPEREFFICIENT! What I didn’t like was our seats. We still had great views of the stage but the sound gets super muffled up near the top. It echoes and you can’t clearly hear everything being sang/said. I think it definitely would have helped if we sat lower or closer to the stage. We’ll have to remember that if we come back to the Paramount for more musicals.

Old theatre that could use some renovation in a busy and high traffic area. No renovation would be possible though. There’s no real handicap access to the bathrooms downstairs so I had to waste my time helping someone I don’t know go down when I was headed down. I think I’ve been spoiled by the Smith Center but the high ratings surprise me. Then I read the reviews and people are saying negative experiences yet posting 5 stars. I don’t get it. We had good seats but the seats are staggered so you’re partially blocked if someone sits in front of you. And if you plan on buying a drink here, just know you’ll have to buy a cup on location too. I wish they wouldn’t allow eating inside the theatre also.

I have been a 5th Avenue Theater season ticket holder for a total of 3 years. I know, that’s nothing compared to many but I wanted to show some experience for the appreciation of theater. The drama and arts of live acting, singing, and dancing is not an easy task. I have recently been to several venues here and the dynamic setup features of this place is very impressive. The level of theatrical performances are so much more than other venues in the area as well(and for the same prices). They have several bars lining the theater lobby areas and have been very courteous and informational. The staff has always been friendly and helpful as well as professionally experienced with handling large crowds. I believe that they were one of the first venues that offered the closed cups in order to be able to have you drink while watching a show as well. Buy your tickets early and plan your night to have a perfect show experience.

«An acre of seats in a palace of splendor. It’s yours … you’ll love it.» — the Seattle Times on the opening of the Paramount Theatre in 1928. The Paramount Theatre is a beautiful throwback to the roaring twenties and it’s aged very gracefully since then. I’ve been here for concerts, comedy shows and after last night, a musical. I took my mom to see Wicked here last night and she was very impressed. Aside from the fact that Wicked is just a fabulous musical, she was blown away by the venue. After 80+ years, you’d think that they know how to run a quick and efficient concession operation without running out of inventory. There was a long line at the bar/concession during the intermission(understandably), but when we got to the front of the line, we found out that they’re out of the wicked brownies and coffee :(Boo… There was also an unbelievably long line for the ladies room, before, during, and after the show. Catching a show at the Paramount is a treat, but make sure you stuff yourself before the show so you don’t get hangry, and dehydrate yourself so you don’t need to use the bathroom.

Love coming to the Paramount! Plenty of seats, two floors high. Make sure to arrive before showtime just to take a look at interior of the building itself! The beautiful architecture is mesmerizing. I’ve seen many different types of shows here, from the theater productions of The Lion King and Mamma Mia, to the pulsing beats of Deadmau5 and Krewella. The sound quality is fantastic! Acoustics or bass — everything sounds GREAT. During GA concerts they remove the lower level seating so it’s first come first serve, standing room only. The floor is slanted, so even if you are in the back you can see a little better over the crowd. They have some snacks, sandwiches, and beverages — including alcoholic(I believe there are 2 bars?). Anyways. I LOVE this venue! I recommend checking out multiple shows here, see what its like during a theater production and how different it is during a concert!

The Paramount Theatre in Seattle is a gorgeous venue, and looking up at the ceiling is a radiant experience. It’s Seattle’s version of the Sistine Chapel, and it channels the Roaring Twenties in all its gilded opulence and optimism. Almost a hundred years after it opened as a movie theater, this turns out to be a pretty terrific place to see a rock concert. It’s like a compact version of the Warfield in San Francisco, which was built around the same time. Depending on the act, you can sit in assigned seating(I hear the seats are old and small) or a floor pulls out converting the theater into a standing room only venue, which was the set up for the show I went to. The later makes more sense for a general admission audience and despite a near sold out crowd, the floor space feels neither cramped nor jam-packed.(BTW, you can park fairly easily at nearby 7th and Pine –there are a couple of pay-for lot options that are easy walking distance to the venue.) The haunting melodies of Interpol’s El Pintor album were right at home here, and while the venue’s décor illuminates the setting, the music, darkened auditorium and water undulating light show turned this spot into an atmospheric, rippling echo chamber. This is great place to see a concert in Seattle, especially a very good one.
