The pizza sauce tasted like there were chunks of tomato in it, which wasn’t at all what I wanted. The cheese didn’t taste cooked fully and the giant pepperoni on top of the cheese was burned. Not a 1-star review simply because I like pizza and even though this one was pretty bad, it’s still pizza. Don’t choose this place unless you like terrible pizza and you want this and not 7-Eleven pizza, which would have been a better choice.

1. Chicken wings should be fried and crispy, not boiled and soggy. 2. This place doesn’t make their own dressings — the blue cheese dressing I had was loaded with sugar and partially-hydrogenated soybean oil. 3. I had a greek salad, which was okay, except for all the balsamic vinegar, which made it so sweet that it wasn’t healthy. 4. Owner(s): if you’re going to make it in Ballard, you’ll have to step up your game. If you don’t know how to make something you sell amazing, take it off your menu. If it isn’t fresh, or if it came out of a can, don’t serve it. Our waitress was very good, but the food was so terrible that I can’t recommend this place.

The waitresses have always greeted us promptly and warmly. I really appreciate the fact that they don’t hover and come back 1000 times to check-in. They come back just enough to keep our waters full. The ambience is welcoming and cozy; nothing too upscale. The food is good, but don’t expect to be blown away. We’ve dined here a couple of times and I’ve found slight faults each time. The first, where I got the linguine with roasted tomatoes and artichoke hearts, the chicken was slightly overcooked. Tonight the pasta was slightly under al dente so it was a tad chewy. The flavors are pretty tasty though, so they still get my 4 stars. The portion size is very reasonable to the price. Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit to see what they have to offer.

Love the food, love the ambience, love the wine, loved the service and cheap. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The food portions are big but great to share, especially because there are so many great looking options. I am gluten free and it was soo nice to be able to order pretty much anything I wanted without worrying if it could be made gluten free. Our table ordered the Sicilian Salad, Caprese, and cheesy bread for apps and the table raved about the sauce. I had the bbq chicken pizza on GF crust, can you say delicious, smoky, huge pieces of chicken. Soo excited for my leftovers! The calzone is huge fyi and house red wine is great. Definitely will be back!

Lots of food options with enormous portions for not much money… Great happy hour that starts at 8pm on weekdays. Tons of space and nearly empty when we went on a Monday night. Beer selection could use some work, especially in the heart of Ballard. They have Stella and Manny’s, but could use a good IPA(Bale Breaker Topcutter, Hopvine, or the like), a pale ale(like Deschutes Mirror Pond), and a stout or porter(like Moose Drool from Big Sky). Better beer and their awesome $ 3 happy hour pints could make this a contender!

Food was okay, but they got my order wrong. I ordered no cheese on a prosciutto e funghi pizza, it came with cheese. A salmon benedict and they sent a traditional benedict with ham.

Came here to lunch after a doc appointment and it was well worth it. They have really good food, the service is ok, but for what it is they have a lot of items on their menu that is worth trying out. We want to come back for the lamb dinner they offer only on the weekend. Check it out if you’re in Ballard.

Excellent salad with fresh chopped tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, cheese, olives and home made dressings. The pizza toppings are great, including the sausages, salami, fresh garlic, kalamata olives, purple onions. And I recommend the Calzone.

Our friend told us about Ballard so we came to check it out. We felt like pizza and we stumbled upon Palermo. Great find! We had the pesto cheese flatbread and the clasico meat pizza. Both were super good. Definitely recommend. Come here now!

I had a really good pizza delivered. It was on time and above average for a home delivered pizza… therefore the 3 stars. I will order again for sure but it is not a «knock your socks off» pizza.

The reason I am giving this restaurant 5 stars is because of my experience today with their customer care. I called Palermo restaurant in Ballard to ask a few questions so I could figure out whether there was anything I could order. I have medical issues that mean I need to be on a diet free of added sugar and refined grains. The guy on the phone was so sweet. He answered my specific questions but then said, «We could make that for you special without the sugar though, no problem.» I was so surprised and touched! I got a 100% whole wheat pizza crust with regular cheese, goat cheese, eggplant, and olive oil instead of pizza sauce. It was yummy! I will definitely be ordering there again!

Ray: Last Thursday, Josh and I were kicking around a few dinning ideas, when we went with what has been kind of a stand-by for us over the last month or two. We just decided to head to Ballard, specifically Market Street, and just go find a place to eat. We did just that and were attracted to Palermo Pizza and Pasta. I think it was the exterior of the restaurant that caught our eye at first, but when we got closer, it was the menu, posted on the entry window. I am pretty sure that there were around one-gazillion items there. It had a TON of items and they all sounded great. Josh looked at me and asked if I wanted to eat here, I resoundingly replied to the affirmative. We were the first customers of the day(again). We were seated and greeted promptly. The interior of Palermo’s is really classy. Thoughtfully decorated with a warm and inviting atmosphere. When I got one of those attractive menus in my hand, I really got to study it out. It was so hard to decide, but I went with the Tortellacci, which is a pasta filled with crab and lobster(I know, right?!). It was in what was called a red and white sauce. It was actually pink, so I guess that’s what happens when the red and white sauces collide. We decided to split a pitcher of Mack & Jacks Amber Ale. The meals arrived really fast, like seven minutes or something. I was expecting a longer wait. The pasta was nicely presented with two long slices of garlic bread garnishing each side of the plate. The pasta was delicious — the crab and lobster — divine… When it was all said and done, we each had a fabulous meal in a wonderful setting, all for just over $ 20 each. I mean, where can you get that kind of a deal, ya know? I have given this some thought and have decided to award Palermo Pizza and Pasta a full five stars for deliciousness at a great value! Josh: This thursday’s galavant into the wilds of Ballard led us to Palermo Pizza and Pasta. We took a peek at the menu posted next to the front door and it looked pretty good, if even a little cheap. Might cause one to wonder what the catch is. We walked into the open dining room where they have a sort of gazebo set up, gives it a vineyard-y type of feel to it. The place was empty so we took a seat at a table near the window. Our server brought us menus and water, turns out they had a half-off all the wine on Thursdays, but we opted for a pitcher of Mack and Jacks. After a brief glance over the menu I decided on a calzone, but after hearing what my dad was ordering, I took a closer look and decided to order the same thing. I think the last time I saw a lobster and crab ravioli for under fourteen bucks was during the Clinton administration, but here it was, like a beautiful chimera through some sort of menu-shaped time portal. The wait was short and we were presented our meal. It was really quite delicious. You could really taste the crab and lobster in the raviolis. The sauce was plentiful, more then enough to mop up with delicious garlic bread. The sauce was very creamy, if even a little rich. It certainly didn’t taste like a cheap dish. Delicious food and very affordable, I have no problem going with 5 confident stars.

Meh. I’ve been here at least 3 times. Mostly because of convenience to my current work site. And my coworkers are visiting and paying for the meals, so I let them choose the spots to eat. Service can be hit or miss here. The first few times our server was not exactly… present would be the word I would use. And we were the ONLY people in the restaurant. Now service has improved, but not much the few other times I’ve been through. Aside from the service, the food is also mediocre. I’ve had the spaghetti with meatballs, because I figure you can’t mess that up too much and I’ve had the Fettuccini con Pollo, too. The spaghetti is actually OK, nothing fantastic, but it is above canned spaghetti. Now the Fettuccini con Pollo was rich, creamy and flavorful, but some of the chicken was dry. The portions are huge(even for lunch). And I’ve always ordered the soup as an accompaniment, now the soups are pretty tasty. Maybe next time I’ll just order a bowl of soup for my lunch…

Wound up here at random. Not at all displeased. Serves breakfast all day, and it’s really good breakfast. That’s a plus if that’s what you like. Pizza: a bit soggy, but decent, with enough toppings.

Had a recent fantastic lunch on Thursday, we had planned to go elsewhere but they were inexplicably closed, so we came to Palermo. Lovely, lovely woman server, very warm and friendly, excellent smells coming out of the kitchen, the dining decorated to the hilt with mostly tasteful knickknacks. Thursday happens to be ½ priced wine(also Tuesday!) so my buddy took advantage and had a gorgeous Valpolicella for a steal, really good. We had fresh, good-sized(almost dinner sized) salads before our meals, she a personal pizza and I had a delectable grilled vegetable/Mediterranean sandwich, perfectly sized, filling but not overwhelming. Both of our dishes were on the lunch menu, a steal at well under $ 10 each, I think they were $ 8, which is shocking, considering the quality. I will now make Palermo my go-to for weekday lunch, we had a delightful time.

I am practically in tears. You know how food can completely change the course of your entire day? No? That’s just me? Okay. I ordered through Eat 24⁄7 using a coupon code. I was drawn to the fact that Palermo serves breakfast all day and has a very low delivery minimum($ 10). When you are ordering food solo, $ 20 can be pretty hard to hit, not to mention more than I would like to spend on lunch before tip and delivery charge. I chose the antipasto frittata, which comes with toast, and a side of bacon extra crispy. In a mere 30 minutes, despite Eat 24⁄7 telling me it would be 45 to 60 minutes, my food shows up. I was a little sad the bacon was wrapped tightly in foil, thus taking away some of that crispness, but I can’t imagine another way to transport it. If I’d ordered it in-house it would have been perfect. The whole wheat toast is a slice like you’d buy in the grocery store and make a sandwich on(Franz? Sara Lee?) but they packed me a teeny container of butter and delicious(dare I say homemade) raspberry jam for it. The eggs were amazing. Pesto, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers and two kinds of cheese. HUGE. Heaven. The breakfast also came with a side of homefries, which were delicious and also a big serving. I would have loved to know this ahead of time, although it is probably either Eat 24’s mistake or mine, because I love sriracha and ketchup on my potatoes, but even plain these were darn good. All in all after delivery charge and tax, my order was $ 13. I did have a coupon, like I mentioned, so it would have been $ 18 before coupon and after 20% tip. Score! I will be ordering again.
