Well, guess I’m too late as it is closed. I’ll write anyway! I remember this place as the place I found a pupa in my food. As I was eating I noticed the wrinkly cabbage looked funny, then noticed it had eyes. I wasn’t expecting that! We just walked out. The woman was nice and apologetic, however.

This place is very good, but it is no longer called«Olarn» it is now«Boontin.» Either way, it is delicious. The phad thai is amongst the best in the city(alongside the top restaurants in Fremont). Unfortunately, the one time we got Panang curry(my wife’s favorite) it was very oily. Why is it that most Thai places can do only one of the two — noodles or curry — right? I may never know. If you’re looking for curry, head to Buddha Ruksa. If it’s Phad Thai you’ve got an eye for, welcome to your new favorite restaurant.

I feel pretty meh about this place. When I went here the food was fine, but nothing to write home about. We ended up getting pad thai, tom kha soup and pad see ew. I didn’t think that the portion sizes were good for the money. As everyone else has noted this building used to be a Taco Bell, so the inside just feels really weird. Also, we sat in the corner on this bench thing and it was really uncomfortable. Our waiter was plenty nice though. I pass by this place multiple times a week and never see anyone in there. They must do a pretty good takeout business. So I guess if I was ever really craving Thai and didn’t wanna drive anywhere I would come back here.

After driving by millions of times, I was finally intrigued enough to stop in and get some lunch to go. Very tasty. Oddly the place is tiny, I wonder what they are hiding in the back. I guess that they are getting ready to remodel.

Ok, not sure I agree with the service. Sure, the guy is sweet, but waiting 10 minutes for sticky rice, or a pop, or a bill… uh…kinda annoying when you have to go up and find your server to get something. Otherwise, we love the food here! Everything we have had is yummy! Be aware that the ambiance is seriously lacking(yes, an old Taco Bell joint), and it has a greasy funk to it. None of the negatives have prevented us from going back, and with friends. If that stops you, order to-go. Oh, and the prices — best in W. Seattle.

Yummy Thai and the Service is Spectacular. ALAS… The Building that houses Olarn is CURRENTLY on the Market. In other words it is UPFORSALE! I wonder what will happen to this cute little Thai Delight. Hopefully they don’t turn it into some more empty CONDOS.

Another great spot if you are in West Seattle. I think we usually have the same guy that Meghan M. gets. The fact that Olarn is in a converted Taco Bell building just adds to it’s immense charm. My friend Royce said he actually worked there when it was a Taco Bell. Ha ha! Anyways they have excellent food, really good Pad See Ew, and it is my top West Seattle Thai spot.

OMG!!! I heart the service here, you will always get the same guy and he is so sweet. Last time we visited he told us about his shaven head fresh from visiting Thailand and the monks. The food is amazing. Lunch special– wait– hold out for this… ok, you get to pick any TWO things off the menu and have them with a side(and we all know Thai food portions [or real Thai food portions] are wayyyyy to big anywheys???) So this is actually perfection on a plate. No decisions… well, two as opposed to one is good enough for me(if it takes me 10 minutes to pick one thing… um, only five to pick two!, so nice for my lunch date!)
