We stopped here during PAX and got a drink and cookie. This cookies is one of the best cookies I’ve had in Seattle! The guy at the register said they bake them everyday. Even with how busy it was they were really nice and had great service.

Not even going to try and make this review sound nice in any way because after my second experience here, it’s very unlikely I will come back. Everything is quite over priced, $ 7 for two chicken wraps? $ 7 for a sandwich… I can understand but it’s not even a quality sandwich. They seriously just slapped all the ingredients on together. I ordered the Smoked Turkey sandwich today and I was highly unsatisfied because the workers were busy working on a larger order from a customer who came in earlier. I had to wait 15 minutes before I got my sandwich and that’s already half of my break time from work. Not only that, but they were consistently microwaving something. I stood closer and saw that they were microwaving the meats on one half of the sandwich buns. Are you kidding me?! I know you’re busy but if you’re going to microwave a the bottom half of a sandwich together then toast it with the top bun how do you expect customers to enjoy it. When I got my sandwich, my bread was warm and toasted but my turkey meat was straight up cold. That was already strike #3 for me. I couldn’t enjoy my sandwich whatsoever. Next time I’m on a lunch break, I’m going to the Starbucks next door. Sorry to those who actually enjoy this deli/café, I know I would have if it weren’t for today’s experience.

Came here for another visit and got a delicious sandwich!!! Friendly greeting as I walked in, and helpful in explaining anything as well. I decided to get their Cajun turkey sandwich… very good, or was it chicken? Whatever it was I enjoyed it very much, Cajun flavored Boar’s Head meat with red peppers, lettuce, tomato and melty cheese on that wonderful focaccia bread… all served hot. I also decided to try one of their beef empanadas as well… pretty good… kind of wished it came with some kind of dipping sauce though. Filling inside was flavorful with ground beef, black olives, small bits of onion and a potato nugget. All for about $ 14, but it lasted me 2 meals. Great spot and will be a part of my lunch rotation!

Very great price point and decent sandwiches to do. Bettter than some other sandwich to go places. Great customer service. There is some seating inside, however, it got filled so it was a grab and go situation.

I work in a building on the same street at this place and many of my coworkers rave about this place so I finally decided to give it a try this week. Oh my god. They have the best sandwiches! I used to go to subway but this is about the same price point and so much better. Plus, I work nights and love that when I get off at 10 it’s still open so I can go grab a sandwich for dinner before I catch my bus back to Everett where there isn’t a whole lot of variety after 10. Everything is fresh and it doesn’t matter if I get a hot or a cold sandwich. It’s all good. This is my new favorite lunch place!

Nice little café attached to the hotel with a street entrance. The staff is minimal but fast and efficient with orders. They have a wide range of drinks and snacks like most hotel sundry shops, but also have hot fresh food available too. There is a menu available for meals that you can order with Boar’s Head deli meats for sandwiches. However, there are the chorizo chicken empanadas. Flakey crust with moist filling using smokey chorizo sausages that are tempered by the chicken. Great hot meal for on the go. Prices are a little higher then average but for the location and convenience factors it is well worth it.

AMAZING roast beef and Reuben sandwiches. Wish that this place was closer to my workplace so I could frequent it more.

Great little market to get those quick little items. Tucked into the hall of the Hyatt in downtown Seattle and next to a good sushi restaurant, this quaint little store is perfect is you are looking for a quick drink and a quick snack. With an entrance also from the outside, you are able to access this little place even though everything else around may have already closed. A cool little secret is the sandwiches which are quite tasty. Perfect if you are looking to keep that hangover at bay, a quick juice and a great sandwich will get you started for the next day!

Nick: NYC? co-worker #1: in. co-worker #2: in. co-worker #3: down. Nick: elevators @11:50. This is my weekly ritual. Duck out of the office a bit before noon and avoid the crowds, because sometimes this place gets a little crazy. It’s worth the wait though because their sandwiches are so much better than JohnnyJim’s. Boar’s Head all the way! Hot? Thank you. They’ve usually got some daily specials – including some delicious spicy options you will never see on the menu at JammyJoe’s. Or be like my co-worker that always orders the same delicious roast beef sandwich. Oh yeah, they’ve got a salad bar too – and an amazing beer and wine selection!

I come in here once every few weeks when I’m having a bagel cravings. Here’s the thing, kids. I love me a good Costco bagel with cream cheese but I hate having to buy two bags of Costco bagels at a time just to get that occasional bagel fix. That’s where small Asian-owned businesses are great — you can find Costco bagels in their deli’s often, as I have here at NY Deli. Everyone who works here is super pleasant, the service is fast and what I like about this deli is that they have such a HUGE selection of items — for all your emergency needs! Working in the heart of downtown let me tell you — this kind of little mart is a wonderful, wonderful thing! So that is why I can excuse the fact when I order my bagel with cream cheese — microwaved not toasted and it throws them completely off kilter, I can let it slide. Because I truly appreciate everything else about this adorable little mart.

Excellent lunch spot. I attended a conference at the convention center and this was in short walking distance. The New York style deli serves sandwiches, empanadas and soup with a nice selection of drinks and chips. The empanadas looked fantastic but I went with the Turkey Smoked Mesquite sandwich with all the fixins and added bacon on day 2(yes, it was so good, I went back and had the exact same sandwich the next day, just added bacon. .. which was a great idea, as always.) The sandwich was fantastic. High-quality all the way. Boar’s Head tender turkey — flavorful and moist but not wet. It tasted as if they fresh-sliced it for each sandwich. The bell pepper/onion mix really gave the sandwich a satisfying savory quality and the bread was grilled on hot focaccia sandwich grills, well-seasoned, crispy and amazing. It wouldn’t surprise me if they bake the bread on site. I have to say, I am not usually a fan of honey mustard, but I enjoyed it on this sandwich. They also carry a decent selection of beer and wine and a few sundries for locals. All in all a quick, high-quality, tasty lunch experience. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks for the great lunch!

In need of fast food on the go? Its a little hard to find that in this area of downtown but I stumbled upon New York Café. I was on my way to a work meeting and thought this was the answer to curb my hunger. Right away I went straight to the buffet line, which was loaded with various carbs and veggies. They don’t have much variety with meats, all that was offered was grilled chicken or this grain dish that contained mushroom and beef in it. I personally enjoyed what I put in my take-out container, especially their eggplant caprese rolls(refer to picture). The tortellini bake was delicious too but on the heavy side so it was a good thing I only got a small sample of that. Although the food was good, I didn’t think it was $ 6/$ 7 per pound good. It adds up easily, which was why I didn’t load up on the chicken. Other than that, this is a good alternative to traditional fast food.

One thing Seattle does have are plenty of small little cafes and coffee shops. NYCafe falls right into that. A small café tucked into downtown Seattle offers and array of sandwiches, salads, hot food bar and drinks. One thing you can get at this café is your choice of beer and wine. A good list of specials and the ability to create your own sandwich is a good option for those on-the-go. I’ll make one more visit for their hot food and salad bar. But for the time being I’ll settle for a sandwich. With that: 3 stars for the food 2 stars for the café 4 stars for the beer/wine selection

If a pound of meat cost $ 10 and you bought half a pound, how much would you be charged? According to New York Café, $ 6.95, plus taxes. And that is the same Boar’s Head roast beef as in else where. So, why would you patronize this place? Guess you enjoy being cheated?

Review of breakfast sandwich(of course) Friendly service, clean, modern atmosphere, service could be faster but not too bad, prices are average, the salad bar was way cheap($ 6/lb) but had limited options, but for breakfast there were lots of sandwich options, and most importantly: good sandwich!

So it’s lunch time so when you’ve been stuck in the Convention Center for 2 – 3 days, you would something other than Subway or the other fast food downstairs. Since I stayed at the Grand Hyatt I remembered this deli right downstairs so decided to check it out. Of course being a deli and when you slap NY on there, you gotta try the pastrami. Ended up ordering the Reuben with pastrami, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and Russian dressing. They serve Boar’s Head deli meats so the flavor of pastrami isn’t bad. It’s thinly sliced rather than the thick cuts. The Russian dressing adds a nice flavor to the sandwich. It’s not big, but with a drink and the free cookie, it was perfect for lunch. The only thing though was that it just seemed too processed. They don’t cure anything in house, since they use Boar’s Head for the meats and cheese, and seemed like sauerkraut is bought as well. Nothing is homemade, except maybe the Russian dressing but even I have my doubt. I like a deli that takes the time to prepare and make things in house since I think that’s what pushes a sandwich to be above average. Nevertheless, a good change from the food around the area and it’s a nice spot for a quick bite. The owners(seems Korean) are really nice and the staff is good with requests as well with your sandwich.

Another New York style deli has popped up in Seattle, unfortunately, I can’t say that it’s a great one… I came here the other day due to proximity to my work, thinking it might hold within it a quick, delicious bite of sandwich. I love me a good pastrami… Naturally, I had to try the Reuben, pastrami status, I just never quite understood the corned beef appeal, sure, it’s almost the same, but unless it’s St. Patrick’s day, I go for the former. The sandwich was a little disappointing, fairly tasty, but definitely lacking the pizazz I was looking for. The Russian dressing, sadly, just not quite Russian enough, whatever that is supposed to mean. The pastrami could have been piled a bit higher, I was still quite hungry after eating the whole thing(granted, I have a dinosaur-sized appetite, whatever that’s supposed to mean). The girlfriend tried the veggie sandwich, and again, it just seemed to lack something, a kick, a little snazziness, maybe something marinated would have done the trick. After spending around $ 20 for the meal, I left feeling like I probably wouldn’t make it back to this place again. Mediocre food and a little overpriced if you ask me. The staff was friendly, attentive, just fine… definitely didn’t make up for the food though. Maybe I’m being a little too picky(see my other reviews and you’ll be convinced!), but hey, isn’t that what Unilocal is all about… or at least, partially about. Knowing where to find the best grub is both a blessing and a curse! Bless(and curse!) you Unilocal! Thanks for listening…
