I’m always scared of going to new mechanics especially after some of the horror stories you hear! But this place is awesome and David is great and really helpful. He fixed my car in 30 min and fit me into his schedule as soon as I phoned. Fixing cars is always pricey and painful on the wallet but David was great and just fixed the one thing that needed done and it was way cheaper than other places for sure. I would certainly go back. But hopefully not anytime soon!

Great customer service. Great prices. Very nice people to talk with there. Got my bearings replaced within 2 hours. I really feel i can trust this shop. They give a good warm family type welcome. I highly recommend.

These guys are great! Moving from Chicago to Seattle, I needed to find a trustworthy mechanic and I found it! I took the car in for an oil change and they had me in and out in under an hour. Painless and easy.
I also had a ‘rattling sound’ problem in our CRV that I asked them about and spent a good amount of that time talking with them on the possible causes and solutions. They never jumped to conclusions saying I needed this changed or that replaced, but instead took time to understand the problem at its core.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking in need of auto work.

My Mechanic & David was great; so great that I am compelled to write my first Unilocal review. I found My Mechanic through Unilocal like most of you did, after reading all the positive reviews, I must say I had high expectation for this shop. David definitely met that expectation, and more.
Not only the work was done right, David literally spent 30 minutes trying to understand what I want out of my car, and taught me the do’s and don’ts with the specific engine that i have; all while not trying to up-​sell me on anything. From the pricing of his work, his mannerism, to his advise on money saving tips and recommendations, it’s transparent that David is an honest business man & mechanic, and understands the key to winning is not big gains from one job, but from happy repeated customers.
This was my first time coming to My Mechanic will absolutely not be the last.

Consistent top-​notch quality and first-​class customer-​service, at this point I’ve had three experiences with David, Michelle, and the rest of the team at My Mechanic that have exceeded my expectations and left me a satisfied – and thankful – customer.
When I had my ’98 minivan towed from SODO, the Aurora Corridor offered more than a fair-​share of automotive repair options. I went with My Mechanic for two reasons: first, after reading the other reviews on Unilocal,and second, after a positive experience speaking with David, *the* mechanic behind My Mechanic months before. When I was researching a problem nearly a year earlier, I had called David to get a quote, and the information and honesty he shared over the phone made me feel like I could trust him.
By the time AAA towed me and my van to My Mechanic, it was well after midnight, so I left the key and a note in the dropbox outside the garage door, and then stopped by the following morning. David is an intelligent, gregarious fellow who is constantly busy, and he took the time to sit and hear listen to me describe my vehicle’s symptoms. Although he was incredibly busy, he never made me feel rushed.
A few days later he left a voicemail to say the van was ready to be picked up. When I arrived, David explained more about what he had done, and I was grateful for his candor, detail, courtesy, and professionalism. The price for repairs was also very reasonable (less than $ 300 to replace the transmission oil pan).
Several weeks later, when the «Check Engine» light appeared, I took it to an Autozone to have the code (s) read: after getting a print-​out of the details, I brought it to David. He knew instantly what the situation was, and offered great advice – we set up two appointments, one to review the issue immediately, and another when he and I both could spare the time for the van to be looked at in-​depth. David and the crew had the vehicle for less than a week, and did a thorough inspection to prepare me for a cross-​country trip. The price was also extremely reasonable for these services, and what was found.
I’m grateful to the entire team for their exquisite service and kind spirits. I will definitely be bringing my vehicles to My Mechanic in the future, and encourage those who seek exceptional-​skill and service to do so as well.

Cory is fantastic! He really knows cars and takes pride in doing a good job. It’s a family business and is reasonably priced.
Whenever I have an intermittent car problem that I don’t fully understand, Cory goes above and beyond to answer my questions. At My Mechanic they go the extra mile and do all the important maintenence stuff while they have the car opened up. I don’t think this type of stuff gets done at other shops. They take pride in their work!

Can you say lifesavers! David and Brandon replaced a broken steering belt and had us back on the road in 15 minutes! We made it to our ferry reservation with a few minutes to spare! You guys saved our weekend! Thank you!

I have been going to My Mechanic for almost 10 years. This is the most HONEST, KIND and HELPFUL mechanic I have ever dealt with. I cannot recommend Dave’s shop highly enough. You can trust that you and your loved ones will be well cared for and treated with respect. LOVE THIS GUY!!! If you need a mechanic in Seattle, this is the place to go. Best in town, hands down.

Dave is the MOST HONEST, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND AMAZING mechanic. He has been working on my husband’s former Camaro and my Corolla for years. He will give you an honest and extremely reasonable estimate. He has completed a drive axle seal for me and the work was done in a matter of a couple of hours. Recently, I was told by another place that I needed a new windshield wiper motor, after I had to drive into the nearest service station for a new blade, because mine was destroyed during heaving rain. They offered me a next day appointment and I knew there was no way I would trust them with my car. Went to Dave and within 2 min he assessed my car and the only thing my wipers needed was a bold tightening. He asked if I had my windshield replaced recently (and coincidentally, I sure had). Immediately he said they just didn’t tighten them properly. He saves me time, money and the headache of wondering if my car is in trustworthy hands.

I’ve read online and heard horror stories about mechanics trying to swindle money from their customers because the normal layperson has very little knowledge about car fixing – but this is absolutely not the case at My Mechanic! David is honest, helpful, and will never overcharge you.
I was recommended here by my mother, who was recommended there by her colleague (you get the picture etc etc), who has gotten routine work done on her car for a couple years. I absolutely recommend My Mechanic to you and compel you to pay it forward after your car is fixed!

This place has amazing customer service. The staff is respectful and informative to people who know very little about car repair. I was shown exactly what needed to be fixed and given a thorough explanation of why it occurred.

Great guy, great mechanic. Be prepared to hang out a while and chat… I wish he would clean up the shop so he could find things without so much frustration.

This place was referred to me by a friend. I want to be fair, but to be honest I’ll never get work don where. I’ve called multiple times leaving very clear contact information. They have never responded. I guess they have enough business…

10 minutes listening to perfect silence is not an auspicious intro to a company. I told them the make and model of my car and said the air bag warning light was on. I asked whether they could fix it. She asked if she could put me on hold for a minute. Nine and a half minutes later I decided to find some other repair shop. The Unilocal reviews are great, but I’m afraid I’ll have to wait on hold for 15 min to schedule, again to find out their diagnosis, and finally to find out of it’s done. That’s too much waiting for me!

Great straight forward service. Chuck, the mechanic, and Dave, the manager, were both great. Informing me of the issues they noticed along the way and providing only the services I requested at an extremely reasonable rate. Will be back.

Man I love this place.
Are they a bit slow? Sure — they are always slammed and it takes at least a couple of days to get an appointment. Is the office area messy and disorganized and even a bit dirty? No question — this is a real shop. Do they spend forever talking to the person who arrived just in front of you about their car (i.e., giving them great service)? Absolutely. Will they give you a great, honest deal, give you information even if it saves you money where they could have bilked you, and do they treat their customers, even the obviously mechanically clueless, with both respect and honesty? F*CK YEA.
David always calls me personally to give me the low down on what my car needs. He explains in easy to understand terms without being condescending in the least, and gives me as many options as he can.
David: «Your CV boot is completely busted and is spraying grease on your engine block — that is what you smell burning underneath. You can get the boot replacement for xx dollars, replace your entire axle (or whatever he said — yea, I’m one of the clueless haha) for yy dollars (about $ 75 more), or just ignore it and know that that is what the burning smell is, and eventually bad things will probably happen.»
Me: «Haha, I’d like you to fix it please.»
Online research informed me that the usual cost for *just* replacing the boot is only slightly less than what I ended up paying for a maintenance check, oil change, air filter replacement, cv boot replacement, and tax.
This was just one example of the exemplary work I’ve gotten from this shop. I am so glad it was recommended to me, and I very highly recommend it to everybody else looking for quality, cost-​effective, honest work. Unless you are going to all go there and book them up so much it makes it impossible for me to get an appointment the next time my car needs service or work, in which case, you know what — these guys suck. Seriously, don’t go there. Please. :D

This place is about as cheap as it gets and David, the owner, is as nice as they come and will chat your ear off if you let him. Initially I thought I’d found the diamond in the rough but…
I’ve used My Mechanic 3 times:
First time: I brought my car there to have the breaks replaced and a tune up. It was done timely and cheaply (yea!) but almost immediately my breaks had a shuttering whenever I applied them. I took my car back 3 different times and each time it was still there. I finally took it to Meineke down the street.
Second time: About 6 months later I took the same car back to My Mechanic. I needed a scheduled 100,000 mile timing belt replacement (and part of that process is to replace the water pump directly behind the timing belt since you are right there). It’s an expensive process and I really liked David so I thought I’d give him the benefit of the doubt. Again, it was done timely and cheaply but one year later, while driving back from a road trip, my car broke down in Idaho because the water pump blew. Two days in Coeur d’Alene and $ 500 later, the Idaho mechanic showed me that My Mechanic had not properly sealed the water pump when they had replaced it a year prior.
Third time: I’m trying to sell my 2^nd car so I took it to My Mechanic for a little TLC: a quick tune, an oil change, and fix one windshield wiper. I dropped the car off 3 and a half months ago and have yet to receive one single phone call regarding my vehicle even though I’ve called multiple multiple times and even stopped by 3 different times for an update. Exasperated, finally today I took the bus over, took my keys back and drove off with my car without saying a word.
If you to talk it up with a really nice guy for a reasonable price, My Mechanic is your place. If you want to get your car fixed, go somewhere else. I know I will.

I have to say, with all the 5 star reviews of My Mechanic, I’m not too terribly surprised that I had a great experience there today. Actually no, I am STILL blown away!
I called up yesterday asking about whether they offered a free diagnostics check on cars that have their engine lights on. Beware — many places don’t do this for free! I went to Firestone to get an oil change and was told it would be $ 200. And I have a Firestone credit card! I get a discount there. SIGH. Anyway — the man on the other end of the phone said in a polite tone, «yep!» So I let him know I’m headed his way. Free is the best price ever!
I literally pass other mechanics and auto body shops to get to this location. Having read their reviews on Unilocal I was confident that this was the place to go.
I pull in, I’m greeted by a friendly mechanic, tell him my problem and he quickly gets to work. In addition to working on the car and trying to figure out it’s issues, he goes into great detail with me about how the test is done. I even stand there and watch him do it! He’s very thorough and the entire test takes about 20 minutes. Just as he’s closing the hood of my car he spots a tube that is broken. He mentions that it’s not important and is certainly not the reason the engine light was on. He says he’ll be right back and about 15 seconds later he’s back under the hood repairing this tube.
Now I’m thinking, «Ok… so I hope he doesn’t charge me for the diagnostics check because I was told over the phone it was free. But… now how much is this tube thingy gonna cost?» From what he explained and how simple it looked I assumed it’d be cheap, but still!
With the tube replaced and the hood shut back down he says, «Alrighty! You’re set. Have a great night! Let me just wash my hands here and move that car for you so you can back up more easily.»
Really? REALLY? He spent over 30 minutes in total on my car. The test was free, I get it. But what about that tube? What about the other amount of time and effort he spent doing something unexpected?
I literally drove off with my problems solved and didn’t have to pay a cent. This place really is the best!
