My Massage in Seattle

Adding an update since it’s now been over 2 years since I started to see Nancy. She continues to be incredible and honestly feels more like a close friend than my masseuse. She offers a comfortable environment and is genuinely interested in your well being. PLEASE go see her! She’ll change your life!

My last review for here was over a year ago.
Nancy is still great, and now that I’m pregnant I still use her monthly since she has had training in pregnancy massage also.
My husband and I have been going to get massages here for years. She is the best we’ve found in Seattle, so if you are looking for a great massage not just a fluff and buff look no further!
The online scheduling system she has makes it really easy to schedule a massage.

Nancy is one of the most hospitable massage therapists I have ever had the pleasure of encountering, She always makes me feel like I am walking into a dear friends home. After every massage I feel like a new person. She has some of the best prices in the city. I purchased one of the package deals, and can’t wait to book my next massage. Keep up the great work Nancy.

At the risk of never being able to get in to see Nancy again (after everyone reads about how awesome she is and schedules her every opening), Nancy is an amazing massage therapist. She is technically very adept, but more than that, her intuitive healing and kind hands bring healing as well as relief from chronic tension. Somehow she can work deeply while also bringing relaxation.
For me, I feel like it’s an enormous value, as I feel that I get sort of a «two for one» treatment because Nancy is also a Reiki master.
Her environment is warm and comforting, and her scheduling system makes getting your appointment setup easy.

I found Nancy through an Amazon local discount and she was very warm and welcoming. I had specific areas that needed work and she accommodated me on my first visit. I’ve never had a massage at a home studio, besides when a friend was in training, and I thought it might be awkward. It really wasn’t at all. I liked being greeted by the hens in the front yard and her studio on the first floor is very soothing and professional. She did a great job focusing on the area in need and I would definitely recommend her to others. Her base rates are quite reasonable, especially for the 90 minute massage. I went in the middle of my work day and really didn’t want to back to work.

This business is located in the therapists home. Although a bit odd at first, It’s a cute, quirky place. The set up in the basement is professional.
I get massages 1/​month or more and this massage was just Ok. It was fairly light didn’t feel very therapeutic… in fact, it almost tickled at moments. Especially for the large muscles, it was as if someone was just rubbing on sunscreen or something… no pressure at all. Considering that they prices are similar to «deep tissue» massages, that was disappointing. The one thing I did notice was a musty smell all over which was probably from whatever she was using as a massage cream. I noticed it during the massage and thought it was something in the room but It was all over my body after. I needed to go home and take a shower.

More than just a «feel good» massage, this was a therapeutic experience that also felt very good. Nancy’s expert bodywork felt effective on a deep level (including releasing toxins) but was never painful. I was awed by her deep knowledge of the body’s connective tissue and appreciated the grounded lightness of being she offers. She’s a gem. I have already made my next appointment for next steps in healing.

It’s been over two weeks since my massage from Nancy and I am still feeling the benefits – by far the most effective massage I have ever received.
Nancy’s home is very welcoming and she has a very clean and spacious room for massage. I explained that I had been in a car accident and I spent a lot of time on the computer during our pre-​massage chat. She focused only on the areas of concern, which I appreciated.
I liked the convenience of online booking. The Unilocal deal is a steal. I am already looking forward to my next massage!

Finally, I am on the path to structural wellness and living without discomfort after discovering Nancy! On the weekends I like to overcompensate for being desk-​bound during the week by engaging in intensive hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, etc. However, my poor muscles sometimes hate me afterwards, leading to cumulative stressed areas in my body. Foolishly hoping that these trouble spots would magically disappear over time, I have at times neglected these sports-​related issues, occasionally trying various modalities in moments of desperation without much in the way of substantive results.
Thank goodness Nancy answered when I dialed her in desperation this weekend, realizing that my lower back and hip felt like an arthritic 90 year old’s! And bless her heart for fitting me into her schedule when she realized I was in serious discomfort.
Upon arriving at her house, in which she has a lovely, clean, spacious work studio, I immediately felt comfortable and welcome. Nancy herself is an extremely good listener, and I felt myself relaxing as I discussed my issue. She seemed extremely present and focused on what I was saying, and this attention carried through to the actual massage. I was extremely interested to see what her technique would be like since she incorporates structural integrative techniques into her massage, and I was very happily surprised!
In the past, I have tried everything from rolfing to therapeutic massage (aka painful massage with prejudice) to chiropractics, and in the past I often left those other practitioners’ sessions feeling literally bruised and figuratively traumatized. Other practitioners seemed to try to manhandle or power through trouble spots without addressing the underlying issues creating the problems.
For once, that was not the case with Nancy. I am amazed at how she was able to create positive improvements in my mobility and decrease my pain through working on complementary areas in various parts of my body. She was extremely gentle as she coaxed the various lines of muscles into letting go of their tension — all in a very comforting manner. And while she was unable to magically fix ALL of my sports issues in a single session, I am incredibly amazed at the increased range of motion and pain relief I experienced after just one session. I will definitely be back to see her, and I highly recommend her to others!

I wanted to take a few minutes to write a thoughtful review. After a long tense month at work, I called Nancy to book a last minute appointment hoping she had availability. Luckily, she had a time available. At that time, she encouraged me to use the Unilocal offer as a new customer.
The studio in her home was warm and welcoming. A proper meditative mood was set with the music, a water feature and lighting. Nancy’s experience and skill was evident from the start. After a short chat about my body’s needs, she began the massage. I have to tell you — this was the most relaxing and most effective massage I have ever experienced. It transcends massage in its results — true structural integration bodywork. I left her table feeling better than I had in years. My posture improved after the time she took to work my neck, shoulders and chest. My legs still feel amazing and now are planted directly below my knees (not turned out slightly as they had been).
I cannot recommend Nancy highly enough. She’s a pleasure to speak with and very skilled therapist. I will absolutely make another appointment to have her work more on my lower body.

Not what I expected or previously experienced from massage therapy but truly amazing. It was like the pain in my upper body kept falling off exponentially after the massage and by the time I went to bed that night, the pain was gone. This morning I’ve had twinges but it’s because I’m not breathing and I’m slouching forward –crumpling in on my self. As soon as I get a twinge I stop everything, roll my shoulders back and take some nice deep breaths and voila! no more pain.
Nancy realigned me so that I can listen to my body and heal myself –yay!

Thanks to Tippr, I had the pleasure of meeting Nancy. She works from home in Fremont. Although I had very little time yet needed a massage pretty badly before my flight, she was very understanding and accommodating. When I arrived at her house, I was welcomed by Nancy, a flock of crows, chickens, squirrels, a friendly cat, and an old dog. (Later, she also showed me a bunch of chicks, and they were super adorable!) The house was very warm and inviting, and I felt immediately relaxed.
Once I filled out intake forms, Nancy examined my posture and asked questions about my medical history. I really appreciated the fact that she did throughly check how I was standing. (How many massage therapists would do that??)
Her massaging technique was quite different from what I’m used to. I felt like she was isolating each muscle and restoring its proper movement. It took me awhile to feel rubbed down and decompressed for some reason, but boy did I feel amazing afterward!!! She used real coconut oil on me, so I smelt amazing after the massage.
Whenever I get a massage, it usually is a 60-​minute one, but her 90-​minute massage is well worth the money!
