Metropolitan Landscape and Construction

Unfortunately, it looks like my experience is a common one. Two months of email and phone calls, basically begging someone to respond to me, I got someone to come to do the work I requested. I paid for 4 hours of work through the BuyWithMe, I have no idea if the work took that long or if I would be able to use the 2^nd of the two vouchers for other work. I called to find out and never heard back. I was so fed up, I gave up trying. For the price, I got what I wanted done that day, and hired another landscaper for the other work. It’s really a shame, as I wanted a landscaper who I could build a long-​term relationship with, I have a lot of projects around the house. I thought this voucher would be a way to assess their abilities for a reasonable price before commiting. The work they did was fine, but the process was so frustrating, they lost a customer.

I, too, got the shaft from this company. But I am a persistent broad, so I dug around and found the owner on Facebook and let my feelings be known.
He didn’t reply for a long time.
Yesterday I got a response.
I have to say, I feel bad for the guy. BuyWithMe gave us both the shaft. For one thing, he agreed to 100 deals and they they sold 600 (in May). Then, unbeknownst to him the fine print allowed them to run it a second time in June.
I won’t go into all the details, but let’s just say BuyWithMe probably closed down (sold out to
) for good reason.
In fact, come to think of it, I have bought several deals from BuyWithMe and there was a problem with every single one. Coincidence? Probably not.
So, I never got any work done, but I am giving the business 3 stars because at least he took the time to write me a detailed explanation and an apology.

As of right now my rating is a 0, I have left multiple messages and gotten no response. Unfortunately I also purchased the deal in MAY and still haven’t gotten a callback to any of my messages.

I also purchased a voucher that I couldn’t redeem because nobody ever bothered to return my e-​mails and couldn’t leave a message because the voicemail was full. Luckily, I was able to get a refund from DealSwarm. I explained how I was so disappointed in this company and they were great about giving me a refund. I hate to give bad reviews on small businesses, but in this case I had to.

I bought the BuyWithMe coupon in May, hoping to get some help with our yard by August… but we have yet to actually connect with these people. We contacted BuyWithMe and they said they’d pass along our frustrations. We get «mailbox is full» message, so cannot even get someone to cancel on us! Really disappointed – Hope we can get a hold of someone before the coupon expires in November, but I’m not holding my breath!

So disappointing. Bought the BuyWith Me deal in June, they offered it in May and then again in June. Had I read these reviews I wouldn’t have bothered. I needed someone desperately who could do things that I couldn’t, someone who also had vision. Weeks of emailing I finally got a reply and a date for them to see my property, they didn’t show. They didn’t show the following week for the date that was scheduled to do the work either. After another week of daily calling I txt msg Matt, the owner, who immediately responded and they set up a time to come by. They changed the time 2 times and then said they would add extra work time for no charge. Matt came out, looked around and said he would write it up and have Jen, his secretary, call me with a time. That was 3 weeks ago. I’m now getting a refund from BuyWithMe. I really needed the work and am horribly disapointed. How can you expect to stay in business when you treat people like that???
Obviously, customer service is not at the top of their list… :(

Absolutely horrible. Listen, I get it. You do a deal and it means you’re swarmed. That’s OK, I’m pretty patient but really, this was so bad that it goes way beyond just being busy.
It took forever to get an appointment scheduled and on the day they were supposed to show up I called 5 or more times when they were late, eventually they showed up 4 hours late. When they did weed my yard there wasn’t a single area that was actually weeded. I had hoped to have a weed free yard so I could spread mulch but sadly there were too many weeds left everywhere to do that. They were supposed to come back to actually do the work as promised just last Friday but of course this time they never showed. Their voicemail boxes are full and no one returns calls as others have mentioned.
I have a massive landscape job in my backyard that I was hoping to do this year or next and was looking forward to seeing if this was the company. I guess it’s good that I know that they aren’t. Their quotes are massively inaccurate, they are impossible to get in touch with and the quality of work is beyond poor. In the end stay away from this company, deal or not because really, no one should have to put up with this.
For other deal purchasers (yes, they posted another deal 3 weeks after the first one even though they couldn’t or wouldn’t keep up with the first deal offer) the deal sites are giving refunds for these because they’ve heard so many complaints. Sad.

I’ve had the same experience as the others. Matt, dude — you need to follow up with people! Matt came out, took a look and said he’d email us am estimate… that was 6 weeks ago! I got a few follow up calls from a 916# asking why we haven’t scheduled and I explained we were waiting on the estimate. The last call was 2 weeks ago and I was told we would have it by Monday. Nothing came. The prices are great but since I haven’t seen it in writing I don’t believe it and looking at the other reviews I’m glad I didn’t have them rip up my lawn and then never return. Super disappointed. And please stop calling to follow up and then not DO anything! Oh and stop running more deals if you can’t help the people that purchased the last one.

I purchased the BuyWithMe deal in May and had a little trouble reaching them at first, but Matt did show up to check out my yard and was able to schedule the work the week I requested. They had to reschedule once but showed up the next day as promised and completed the job. They also added an extra 30 minutes of work for the inconvenience of having to reschedule.
I was pleased with the quality of the work and ultimately it was a good deal. The company has clearly been overwhelmed by the response to the BuyWithMe deal, and the owner was very apologetic and said he hoped to be able to make it up to everyone.

I have never been so disappointed in a merchant. I purchased a «voucher» for their services through «DealSwarm» over 5 weeks ago and have still not been able to obtain services. We have scheduled appointments twice with them, only to have them «no show.» The last time, (Monday) my husband and I received 2 totally different messages as to why no one showed up for our 9:00 AM appointment (one was that their truck broke down and the other was that they had double booked that day). They told us they would call back to reschedule and we still haven’t heard back from them.
Needless to say, I can’t review their actual landscaping service, because they haven’t showed up yet. It’s a shame, because they seem genuine and I really wanted to support a local company (based out of Ballard).

Totally impressed. We gave these guys ripped out pictures from five different magazines with various plants and back-​yard designs. They showed up the next day with a truck full of plants that were litterally exactly what we wanted. Mind readers… The first full bloom we had in our back yard was amazing. I had to just pull up a chair and sob a little… for there were no more back yards to conquer…
