«Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.» My biggest mistake of today: I accidentally parked in front of this shop. What ensued from a 5-minute mistake was an employee from Métier chasing after me into the pizza shop next door to knock me down a peg in front of other customers and the cashier and then, for whatever reason,(after fast walking to my car to move, mind you) finding the SAME employee aggressively trying to get my mother in the passenger seat of my car to roll down her window to accost her the same way. That’s the simple details. What you do not know is the hours before I made the critical mistake of accidentally parking here, I had just came out of a difficult 4-hour surgery(I am a veterinary nurse) which I then had to leave early to take my mother(the one you accosted) to the hospital because we have been undergoing a long battle with her health that has been putting strain on our family the past few weeks. I do not owe you these details but after the exhaustion and shambles I feel in today from my own struggles, I apologize for being drained and spaced out enough to park in your space for 5 minutes. I am sorry this caused you so much grief. My only advice is please remember we are all humans just trying to do our best. Next time, maybe be kinder. Next time, maybe fight the need to exercise power and aggressively accost people for small mistakes. I understand the establishment next door might be causing this repetitive problem for you. I, however, did not park in front of your shop to aggravate you or stunt your business. I live 2 blocks from your business. My partner and I had you bucket listed to try out soon. No longer is that the case. Product is one thing but there is no bigger selling point for a business than the people who care for it.

A very cute little multi-function coffee shop — part coffee shop, part specialty bicycle store, part gym with group classes offered. While their clientele is just about anyone, you get the true benefit of visiting Métier if you have a passion for cycling, as this place is really the bees knees. Gorgeous interiors, friendly staff, and a quality-stocked cycling section, Métier is a fun addition to the area!

Checked out Métier for the first time last week. Signed up for the 630a crossbar class. First off: I love 630am classes. 6 is tough to get out of bed for! Secondly, the class was challenging and fast paced. Boxing-inspired intervals that definitely kept you moving. Plus, the space is beautiful AND they have showers. I grabbed a coffee on the way out and it was on point. I’ll be back!

I had been hearing some murmurs about Métier through the vegan grapevine for the past month or so. Yesterday, I finally had the pleasure of checking out the café. As has been stated in prior reviews, the café portion of Métier shares an open space with the bicycle shop. In a Saturday afternoon, the vibe was very mellow and friendly. On the menu, there were a variety of vegan-friendly sweet or savory waffles, smoothies, and sandwiches, in addition to your standard coffee shop drink options. Additionally, there was a pastry case with a surprising number of vegan(including gluten-free vegan) options which, according to the person at the counter, rotate frequently. I ordered the savory chickpea-tempeh salad without cheese, and got a piece of iced blueberry lemon bread, a soft pretzel, and a piece of pear/walnut pie to go. When the waffle arrived, it was warm, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and loaded with goodies. The chickpea-tempeh salad was mild with a good balance of flavors. I cleaned my plate– nary a crumb left behind, though I was starving by the time I got to Capitol Hill to eat. On a normal day, I could easily have split this waffle with a friend and have been satisfied. I look forward to trying the other vegan-friendly options on future trips. What I appreciate most is that Métier offers plant-based options that don’t resort to using analogs for animal-based foods, favoring whole foods that are tasty in their own right. And the desserts(*ahem*, breakfast pastries) come in as a close second.

Attended their Cross Bar class this morning. I am in love with this place. They give classes that really focus on athletic bodies which I appreciate. Their space is beautiful and I love how multi-functional it is. Shop, fitness classes and café in ONE?! Yep. Their waffle menu looked fantastic and I highly anticipate coming back here soon either for breakfast, a class or both! They also have showers which is super helpful for those on the go as well!

Bike shop, café and training space. Where in Seattle can you find a place that has all of that under one roof? Why at Métier Racing & Coffee, of course! The shop itself is spacious with good natural lighting. Upon entering, you’ll notice a café area on your left and on the right, an area to shop for bike and fitness related gear. In addition to getting your grub on and shopping for that much needed foam roller, Métier also offers fitness classes. The group sessions are held in the back for the upper level, while the training area and locker rooms are right down the stairs. I have had the opportunity to try a few classes at Métier: GO Circuit Training: This is a small circuit training class where you will go over about 8 stations for 3 rounds. Such stations include redcore work(similar to TRX suspension training), medicine ball toss, battle ropes, jump ropes and weights. I got got a good workout out of that class. Vinyasa Yoga I feel like you can’t go wrong with many vinyasa classes but I love that the instructor took the time to ask the class if there was anything they wanted to focus on for the session. I have been prone to being tight around the shoulders and upper back so this was much appreciated. I can see myself hanging out here often and will have to try their offerings at the café during my next visit.

This place is amazing! The building and design is absolutely beautiful. I took a 60 minute yoga class taught by a wonderful instructor. I didn’t have a chance to try any of the food or beverages but I will definitely be back. The concept is really cool and I intend on taking more fitness and yoga classes there in the future.

Ok… here we go, Métier Racing and Coffee is the Sport Performance Store born out of Herriott Sports & Performance. The idea for the shop is in a league of it’s own and very well designed. From the show floor and café to the yoga rooms, spa, weight training and cross-fit rooms downstairs and the bicycle shop it has a very inviting aura. I can easily see it becoming a go-to spot here on capitol hill. The Chef Erik Cockrell and Manager for the F&B dept. seem to know their stuff well when it comes to the food and subsequent pairings off either coffee and or spirits. As a coffee and bicycle enthusiast I’ve often said«there is nothing better than seeing and smelling the mixtures of pro lithium grease and espresso, the combination of high performance cycling and state of the art coffee machines. I love it». All in all Café Métier and HSP are doing something great here. Sincerely, Chef Von Braun

My tea was awesome, a sort of chai type London Fog since there was no earl grey. I’m going to call it Chai Fog. The barista was generous to make it and also ate a hand pie, a little dry but the ingredients were to tempting to deny.

Pretty cool coffee shop but easily missed, look for a black building from the street. The latte i got here was pretty good. They don’t have their own beans but they rotate through a couple different ones. On the wall they had Sightglass, Elm, Slate and Temple. They also have a selection of beer and some food. The space is a shared with a bicycle shop so you have people coming to get coffee and also to check out bikes. Métier has a really chill and relaxed atmosphere. They also have a gym and a yoga studio in the store as well but I only saw those areas briefly. The gym membership is $$$$. This place is really active, people are constantly coming and going. I don’t think this would be the best location if you are looking to study/work but if you are looking to meet a friend for a cup of coffee or a beer you should definitely check this place out.

This place is fantastic! Exactly what Capitol Hill needs– beautiful space, delicious coffee, friendly service and great group classes including Redcord — a training system using suspension exercises that is amazing for athletes of all calibers(and those looking to get in shape as well!) This spot is not to be missed.

No place in Seattle works the body, mind, and soul quite like an experience at Métier. Drop in and find out for yourself how much the owners care about delivering a quality customer experience, and one that will draw you back and will ignite an urge to tell your friends. The café features a simple, reasonably priced menu. It provides an airy, roomy, feel-good space to sip a hot latté or down a chilly microbrew, always with uniquely tasty offerings. The interior design team got this one right. It produced a creatively reconfigured environment that doesn’t hide the feeling that building once served as an auto repair shop, but now with completely different functionality. Feel free to let your curiosity wander, especially about what happens behind the sliding doors in the rear of the main floor, in the open floor gym. You’ll discover red cords there dangling from the overhead rafters. That is for, yes, Red Cord strength and conditioning training — an alternative to the boot campy type of exercise regimens that many establishments offer. This one focuses narrowly on micro abdominal development for balance, posture, injury protection and fitness suitable for not just cycling, but also golf, skiing, tennis and just about any sport demanding core conditioning. Classes are conducted by Todd Herriott in a one size fits all atmosphere. He knows his stuff. He was the strength and conditioning guru for the BMC Cycling Team in 2011, the year it surfaced the winner of the Tour de France, Cadel Evans. He’s easy going, fun-having and very helpful to first timers. I’ve participated reularly in Todd’s classes and can attest that faithful engagment will offer you a very positive boost in your fitness level. Don’t drive/walk/ride by! Stop in!!!

Awesome GO Circuit Training class with Jordan just this morning! I’ve tried the Redcord classes with Todd, the owner and it’s a must try class for sure! You can really tell that Todd is passionate about his business and people. He knows what he’s doing. Such a great café area to hangout anytime of the day as well.

Definitely a fan of this place. I love the space — it’s safe to say that you won’t find another like it nearby. You have a bike store on one side and a café in the other. There was a good amount of natural light coming in from the windows and the tables were nicely arranged(they weren’t close together so you had your privacy). I only stopped in for a quick Americano, which was absolutely delicious, but I will definitely come back in the future to sit down in the space. The folks working behind the counter are some of the friendliest people I’ve met working in a café in a while. I recommend checking out this space for yourself!

i have been racing bikes and drinking coffee for more than 20 yrs i have been in vey few places that offer the quick efficient customer service that i have experience shopping here twice now. had trouble with gloves, the owner himself noted that i was in line and exchanged them immediately high end bikes and high end bike wear in one place with excellent service in the middle of seattle and they make an excellent espresso!

Top notch bike shop, with great gear and people and a refreshing lack of pretentiousness commonly found at other shops of this caliber. They sell high-end gear and this comes at a higher price point, but it is worth it, especially on those soggy Seattle days. David«Rocket» Richter set me up with an amazing bike fit as well as a tough, but professional Moxy fitness test. My bike fits and rides like a dream and I am now nailing my zones during my training rides. This is my goto shop and hangout place in Seattle. Don’t forget to try the coffee, waffles and whatever craft brew they have on tap.

This is a fantastic place with awesome coffee selections, featuring the two best Seattle roasters and two of the best Cali roasters! Also you don’t have to be a bike geek to go here. Just go, have coffee and an awesome $ 6 waffle and check out some bike gear! Great place with a beautiful espresso machine and awesome staff!

Pretty cool space. It’s a coffee shop, with a full bar… inside a bike shop… that has a gym beneath it but they don’t call it a gym and they don’t sell bikes. So, let me try again, I think they fix bikes(and sell merchandise at the same time– serious bikers’ clothing– all the tight clothes) and also promote some kind of fitness on the bottom floor, all the while, they have a coffee bar, beer on tap and a full alcohol bar. All this in one space, yep. I just came here for coffee and to get some work done and it has a pretty cool vibe. The coffee was delicious(elm roaster’s) and they have a few snacks/pastries, but not much. I don’t think they sell any other food. It is just a bit loud when they are fixing bikes so it’s not the best place to get work done. They also have a large screen projecting bike races and all that. Nice, big, clean restrooms. Good wifi. Bar has around 10 seats, and the space has around 8 – 10 tables.

New«lifestyle» place offering coffee, bikes, yoga, and training stuff. Beautifully remodeled — worth a visit only to take a look. The friendly owners and staff were very welcoming when we stumbled in looking for an alternative to the yummy sugar rush at General Porpoise across the street. Coffee was very good; baked goods made inhouse were healthy and tasty, if maybe a bit small for the price(though that, too, fits the concept of health). Lots of bike gear and wood keep it feeling cozy even though the space is big enough to hold events. Apparently, they also serve brewskis. Not sure how that fits into the health dynamic. This street is turning into a foodie hub, and Métier has the potential to become a nice community gathering spot.
