The woman who cut my hair there was completely incompetent. She couldn’t even make things even and straight and had NO idea what looks good. It made me look like I was wearing an old, cheap, and disheveled toupee. I had to go across the street to have another salon fix it afterward. To her credit, she said I didn’t have to pay because she could tell I wasn’t happy, but it was clear that she really didn’t know what she was doing. I mean REALLY.

Marcia provides great service and excellent haircuts. I was searching several hair salons around Ballard looking for a haircut on new years eve. Nobody was open, until I stumbled across Marcia’s business on Market St. She welcomed me in. I didn’t have any money on me(another story) so I attempted to leave without a haircut. Marcia was very friendly and gave me the haircut anyway. She said that I could pay her another time. I left feeling good and was back a few days later to pay up. Marcia was friendly and entertaining. From the quality of the haircut, I could tell she has been cutting hair for a while. This is what I like about Ballard.

Hair Done by Marcia is the best! — I was walking down Market St. and just happened to stumble upon this place. It’s directly across from Monkey Bridge. Marcia is great! — she took me in right away, and was very funny and educated me on the importance of brushing my hair vigorously. The place is reminiscent of a 70’s salon, complete with floral vinyl seating, old school hair curlers and a vibe that makes you feel really welcome. Marcia has been in Seattle for 35 years, lives close to her shoppe and seems to really care about her customers. If you need a haircut or a style or whatever, go and check this place out and say hi to Marcia for me!
