I always went to the neighboring Vietnamese place but decided to give this place a try. I was not disappointed. The décor is just what you would expect in a Korean place, it isn’t fancy but it’s clean and the service is good. They must have one of the smallest kitchens in Seattle but they turn out delicious food. I’ve had the bi bim bop and tofu soup and both had great flavor. I had both in a stone pot which I would recommend even though you save a couple of dollars by getting it in q regular bowl. I have been here twice so far and I’m sure I’ll continue to visit. This spot is definitely worth a try.

First time in. I had the Shredded beef spicy soup. Y’all I’m so full. Very good. Service was authentically Asian which I love.

Food didn’t taste very good, despite the generous portions. In particular, the tofu soup lacks flavor and the short ribs were chewy and sweet… Price is pretty high for what it is and service was not particularly good either.

Good, solid food. I had combo 5 which was stone pot bibimbap + soondooboo. I chose chicken bibimbap and kimchi soondooboo. My mouth is watering a little bit thinking about the soondooboo. It came out hot and a little sour from the kimchi. There was plenty of the silky tofu and it was seasoned well. I added plenty of the red pepper paste to the bibimbap and enjoyed every bite with a little bit of veggies and some chicken. The portions are big and I couldn’t finish it all. I didn’t even touch any of the side dishes. Go hungry and ready to eat. The only minus is the pay street parking. Use pay by phone so you don’t go over

This restaurant has 4.5 star reviews so I wanted to try. We just ordered normal bimbibap and soonduboo, nothing fancy. It took them forever to bring us the dishes and the appetizers. We had to nudge them a few times for everything including water. When we asked to refill appetizer, they said only refill once allowed. I’ve never seen such kind of restaurant. Even the normal dishes don’t have a high quality compared to other Korean places. In the end we paid only 5% tips due to poor customer services.

Tried out Korean bamboo today for the first time. It took quite a while to get my food even though everyone in the restaurant already had food(3 other customers). I ordered soft tofu stew with veggies. The side salads were awesome! My soup had only onion in it, which I didn’t notice right away since I was trying to wait until it stopped boiling. When I did notice they remade it and I had to get it to go and when I got back to work I saw there were vegetables this time but like 3 pieces of carrot, a few zucchini and some cabbage. The flavor was excellent, but next time I will ask for extra veggies.

Spicy pork is great. Anything on the hot stone things are wonderful. Eat here if you want good food!

The waiter talked me into the green onion pancake. He admitted that the seafood pancake only had shrimp added to the mix. The onion pancake offered with the ban chan fair was bland and cold. My main dish was better. I would cut /prepare the pancake ½ the thickness. Addition of crab. calamari, scallops would be a true seafood pancake I also ordered the BBQ ribs. The portions are good. The potato ban chan was my favorite. I will be back to try the dumplings.

I have to give it a one star only because the food was very bland I don’t see anything exciting when it comes to the food so I hardly ate any of it but the place was packed with Koreans and I was probably the only American there so maybe call Koreans are used to that kind of food I am not so judge for yourself Will not go back just not into fish heads J

Was looking for a good Korean place in Seattle and was a little skeptical because of the very few reviews this place had, but it did not disappoint! The ban chan(side dishes) all happened to be favorites of mine. We ordered dol sot bibimbap and dukbokki with ramen. Both dishes were really good, but the dukbokki dish was amazing! The sauce was a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a legit Korean restaurant.

I had originally loved this place, as it was s decent Korean place located in Seattle and food was decent priced and portion. Their service also wasn’t so bad, but maybe because I was with friends. I came in by myself a couple days ago, I told my server I was by myself and he just pointed to a small table. Okay. I even had to grab a menu by myself because he took forever. This lady came out from the kitchen and asked what I wanted to order, I proceeded to order the pan fried gyoza for here, the dukbokki and had asked her to have the combo of the tofu soup togo and the spicy pork for HERE. She said okay. After 5 minutes, came out with Gyoza and 4 side dishes. I finished that within 1 minute. Waited another 15 minutes and she same out with all of my food togo. I was kind of irritated as the server had not paid any attention to me and she actually had my stuff I had ordered for here to be togo. So I just got up and paid and left. I don’t know why I even tipped 10%. They didn’t deserve any tips. Their food after eating it also made me really tired and sleepy, which I think has to do with msg. I’m not writing this out of hate, I’ve had the soups here once before and after, I had also get really tired. I would not be coming back here, thanks.

Three letters… YUM! Since moving to Portland I have missed great Korean foods. So I thought I’d give this place a try. We got there around noon and it was already packed. It’s small but they’re hustling. I don’t think the kitchen is equipped for the crowds because we waited 10 mins to sit and maybe 25 mins for our food. Seeing that most people were waiting for the food when we sat down, I knew we were gonna have to wait. Alright, that’s fine. My litmus test is yukejang, spicy beef soup with plenty of green onions, glass noodles, sprouts and kosari(fernbrake). If you have a cold or hangover, this is the soup you want. Last meal before electric chair? This is it for me. I asked for spicy, the waitress asked extra spicy. Sure why not? When the bowl was set in front, I knew this had a chance of being good. I was wrong, it was great! The bowl is usually in a big metal and that’s what it came in. There was lots of beef perfectly cooked which is a rarity these days. Spicy, yes but not that hot for me. And it was hot, temperature wise. It was probably best yukejang I’ve had in years. Put your perfectly cooked rice(also incredible how often they get this wrong) and mix it in the soup. Eat spoonful after spoonful of spicy hot soup. Wipe sweat, eat more soup. Feed the soul. It was so good I immediately texted my sister a picture to make her jealous! Looks like their speciality is soon tofu, soft tofu spicy stew. Kids had their bulgogi and bibimbop. Both were def good. But if you’re into soups, just order the yukejang. Try this place for lunch and feel lucky you have this place in your town.

My friend and I decided to try this place because we both love soft tofu soup. The restaurant has a cute, homey vibe. We walked in around 8:10 p.m. and the hostess made sure we knew they would be closing at 9 before seating us. We both opted for the combo BBQ meat and tofu soup. He got the short rib with mixed tofu and I got the spicy pork with mixed tofu. We both thought the meat was fairly good, but the soft tofu was very disappointing. It didn’t come with an egg(my favorite part!) like at most places and the soup just tasted watery and diluted. There was also not as much seafood and meat in the soup as compared to other places. The side dishes were good(they were happy to give us a refill), and the service was just fine. Though the BBQ meat was A-OK, I probably won’t be back because when I get Korean, I’m almost always craving tofu. I suppose I should add a disclaimer that my standard is relatively high because I was spoiled by LA Koreatown for 4 years. Sorry, Korean Bamboo, I really hoped I would like you. For now, Green House in U-district is going to remain my favorite tofu spot in Seattle!

Authentic Korean food in the heart of Seattle?! SOLD! If you live in the Belltown/downtown/Capitol Hill area, Korean Bamboo is the way to go. They have the typical tofu soup, hot stone plates, bibimbap, seafood pancake, & the plethora of side dishes which is complimentary(of course)! We ordered the spicy pork hot stone plate, kimchi tofu soup with pork, seafood pancake and hot stone bibimbap! All these selections were top notch and I would order over and over again if I could! ^0^

Very authentic. Not covered up with a bunch of Hondasi and msg. The food was very good and prices reasonsable for the location. I wouldnt nominate the cook for a James Beard but for being a typical Korean lunch joint, I would rank it amongst the best in the area. If you werw comparing it to something in K town in LA, it’s probably just a standard but for Seattle, it holds its own against any other lunch spot. Being from Portland which lacks good Korean, it was a Godsend. Very nice couple.

I was really sad when Black Bamboo closed, but am really glad Korean Bamboo opened up in its place. This is another small family run joint that serves amazing Korean food and some Chinese inspired Korean food. The portions here are huge and the service is amazing. As a regular customer, they really go out of their way to remember how you like your food and customize for you(for me I don’t like things too spicy nor too sour so they always adjust their sweet and sour pork to my tastes)!! It’s really nice that they take time on slower services to ask you how your day is going, how the food or ask what they can do to improve the dish and if there’s a dish you would like to see. The small things like this just show that they really care about what they do here. Some of my favorites include the tansuyuk(sweet and sour pork), dolsot bibimbap(hot stone mix rice), and galbi tang(short rib soup). Everything I’ve tried here has been amazing and fresh. They aren’t too skimpy with their complimentary banchan and always refill them when asked! The amazing food and homey atmosphere keep me coming back for more!

I think I might have found my go to place for Korean food in this area! Awesome little place in belltown. The side dishes were great and I liked all of them. I got a seafood tofu stew and it was served in a bigger than normal bowl which was great. It doesn’t have a good variety of seafood but I didn’t even mind that. The entrée deals are a great deal. My bf got the entrée deal with a tofu stew and short ribs and short ribs were delicious. We also got a seafood pancake and that was one of the best seafood pancake I’ve had in awhile! Very oily though, probably why it was so good. The squid stone pot is also amazing! The sauce is a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Service can be slow when they are busy but the staff is all pretty nice. Overall, loved everything and will definitely be coming back more often!

Best korean food in this area. Prices are super cheap and food is delicious. For the first time in my life, I ate all the banchan because I got everything that I liked. Inside is very warm and cozy. When I’m back in Seattle and in the mood for Korean(which is every other day), I will come back here and stuff myself.

This place is a bit pricey(but because we’re by Amazon and lake union). Their side dishes were BOMB! Especially the Korean pancakes. Oh man, they made that crispy! And the potatoes, oh my god, they got the taste right! I ordered the soon-du-bu(the dumpling soup with veggie dumplings – vegetarian style). It was good but SUPERSPICY. Too spicy. I know, it’s sad, I’m Korean and I can’t eat spicy or too much acidic food due to my health issues. So I would recommend telling them to tune it down a bit… Maybe they made it that spicy because they saw that I’m Korean and thought I can handle it. Anyways, very spicy but good. They give you a lot of food too. Make sure to get their lunch specials because it’s cheaper :)

While not the same the same as Black Bamboo, I enjoyed the experience of it’s Korean replacement. I think they are making a mistake with their«Chinese Inspired Korean Dishes» and some of their sides such as scallion pancakes need improvements. However, the staff are as nice as the people they are replacing, the authentic dishes are really good for Belltown. I will be going back. Also a suggestion to them, drop Dr. Phil from the TV and replace the best of the 90 and early 2000 music. Get some K-Pop and some Korean dramas(or something better then Dr. Phil.
