I contacted Kerf on a whim last summer after seeing so many lovely pins on pinterest. I have a mid-​century house that needed a new bathroom and couldn’t find a vanity I wanted. They responded so quickly and had ideas to me super fast! It was a wonderful experience and everyone was responsive. They were always so nice when I popped by their shop too, which I recommend to anyone considering using them. The process is a unique one and the shop is impressive. This is high quality workmanship! Since last summer, I hired them again to build my kitchen cabinets. I can’t even put into words how beautiful they look. My kitchen looks modern and fresh, but still suitable for a 1950s house. The design process was thoughtful and easy. Thank you so much!

Fastidious, detail-​oriented and people-​centered design.
I was fortunate enough to observe the office culture, watching them share a communal lunch and seeing dogs running around. It is clear that people love to work here, and that they love making client kitchen/​furniture dreams come true.
I have a heinously uneven kitchen floor and the installation team worked tirelessly to ensure the cabinets were level. You don’t see that — ever. Any other installer would have just thrown the cabinets in, dusted off their hands, and moved on to the next job.
I would use them again and again!

We wanted to have an built-​in office setup built for an upstairs bedroom, and have a couple of custom credenzas built. We talked to three different cabinet makers, but ultimately chose Kerf to do our work. Why? Because we like their design concepts, which are very unique.
They were fairly easy to deal with, very informal, but knowledgeable and experienced. We got some good advice, and the final work was excellent. I only wish we’d had them build a credenza for our TV – we bought one at Crate and Barrel last fall, and now wish we hadn’t.

We’re the proud owners of four custom pieces of furniture designed by Nath Hartman, owner with his wife Kate of Kerf Design.
His designs are modern, clean lined, beautiful and very functional pieces, exquisitely crafted of architectural plywood with colorful, laminate surfaces that are durable and easy to clean. We have a T. V cabinet, a display cabinet, a custom display and paper drawer and a shoe storage entry table. Someday we’ll have a kitchen designed and made by them I hope.

So happy with the modern, custom-​built vanity they made us. Could not be more pleased with the look of the piece. What we got from them was well above the quality of anything I’ve seen in any shop I’m familiar with, and the price was under what I would expect to pay for something like that. (If anything, I came away from the experience working with them feeling that they could have reasonably charged us more than they did.) Also, I found the owner and other workers to be friendly and easy to communicate with.

In addition to great looking furniture, Kerf makes an amazing product that can withstand abuse. My coffee table of seven years and many spills looks just like the day I got it, wipes clean with a wet cloth… good as new. Everyone should have some Kerf.
