Clean environment that is very welcoming. Light jazz music playing in the background which was nice. The happy hour is a bargain you have to try. $ 5 house red, spicy tuna maki and Seattle maki. The food was very fresh and hit every taste palate. The staff are also very friendly and attentive. Definitely going here again in the near future.

I enjoy the happy hour often. Rolls, nigiri, sashimi, etc. great prices encourage you to be adventurous and try new dishes. The bar seat is the best because you can see the guys work. My favorite app is salt & pepper wings. The atmosphere is relaxed much like the block itself. Worth a try for sure.

I am a fan! *5 stars, 5 stars, 5 stars!* I came with 3 of my friends for lunch on a Friday afternoon and the restaurant was almost empty but that just means we get all the attention we need from our server(; Linda was our server that day and she gave us the best service we could get. Nothing but good vibes as she was super friendly and attentive to our table. We ordered a bunch of food; hamachi kama, takoyaki, salmon poke salad, miso soups, tom kha chicken, tropical roll, dynamite roll, Hailles comet, Oshinko, 2 spicy scallop hand rolls and one more roll I cannot remember. Everything was absolutely delicious. You could definitely tell that all the fish was of high quality and super fresh! My favorites were the hamachi kama, salmon poke salad and the Hailles Comet roll; those would definitely be my top recommendations. I can assure you, that you will not be disappointed one bit. I cannot wait to come back and try everything else they have on the menu!

The FW roll was delicious. It was overpriced, especially for lunch. They did not have lunch specials, and rolls were $ 14 – 17. I was the only person in there at 1:30, and they were not very attentive. I would come back for dinner.

Honestly surprised at the high ratings for this place. Food was subpar at best. I ordered the Lamb Rack Pistachou(pistachio?) and it tasted HORRIBLE in my opinion. The lamb was dry and it wasn’t tender or flavorful. Some people might like the charred flavor, but I don’t usually like it(tasted burnt to me). For the price of $ 30, I expected better quality of food. Tried to be adventurous and went out of my way to come here due to the reviews, but Jae’s Asian Bistro was a huge disappointment and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Come at your own risk and I hope you won’t have the same experience I had here. Customer service seemed pretty good at first when we arrived, but it went downhill from there. I made reservations for a party of 10 and they were able to accommodate us so that was great. I ran out of water and it took them about 30 minutes before someone finally came to refill my cup once. Took about an hour for our food to come out(Party of 10 w/food ordered @ 730 pm on a Sunday). None of the servers came to check on how our food turned out. My friends ordered a Chirashi bowl and they forgot to add wasabi. All our food arrived and we reminded them twice about the wasabi before it finally arrived. None of my friends enjoyed their food either(ranging from curry to sushi to udon). If you like Chirashi, you’re better off going to Musashi’s or another sushi place.

The service was really good, but could not make up for sub-par food: — found shell pieces in the king crab — chicken noodle dish was bland

Came here tonight for early dinner with the hubs and a friend with the intention of eating lightly… Not so much bcuz the food was phenomal as always. Had spicey tuna hand roll himachi Kama salmon nigiri seared salmon nigiri and a few different chefs choice nigiri which tasted sooo good and fresh. Jae finished our meal with a special deep fried selection he chose and a platter of sliced fruit I’ve never seen. tasted like a plum and grape in one super good. This is a must try peeps sit at the sushi bar and let jae spoil u with the best sushi creations. As always well worth the hour drive! another fabulous lunch date here… every single thing jae surprised us with was not only different then the last time but so fresh and delicious it would be so hard to ever pick a favorite! the hamachi kama is pretty much a standard item every time we are here a def fave. the seared cuddlefish? nigiri was so yummy hadn’t had it b4… our rolls were unique creations that were not smothered with sauce so we could truly appreciate the mild flavors of the fresh fish. for some reason the spicy tuna hand rolls extra delish today the flavors perfectly balanced. our server was so sweet and super attentive Thank u!

Jae’s Asian Bistro is a gem of the Madison Valley strip and of East Asian food in Seattle in general. I come here mainly for the sushi. The nigiri are fantastic across the board, but most exciting are the various house creation nigiri which are Jae-specific. Also incredibly good are the entrees(the halibut and black cod are among my favorites„ although I often forget to order these because the sushi is so good and fresh. In terms of the sushi, asking about what’s most fresh or recommended on that day is a good option. Can’t recommend this place enough.

I used to live in this neighborhood and would frequent Jae’s because it was delicious and convenient. I’ve since moved and it’s been 5+ years since I’ve lived in Seattle. In the mean time, I’ve eaten sushi all over the country(and the world!) and I realize how great this place truly is. Last weekend I flew in from CHICAGO just to have dinner at Jae’s. Seriously flew in on a Saturday with a mid-Westerner friend who needed to know what real sushi was and back home on Sunday evening; worth every moment and dollar spent! Do yourself a favor, sit at the sushi bar and order omakase — you simply cannot go wrong. Creative and traditional, super fresh fish, excellent service and reasonably priced for exceptional sushi!

So I found my other sushi go to in Madison when I can’t get a table at nishino. The service is good. The fish is good. The dishes are innovative and creative. Why is this not like nishino. The variety in fish, oysters and food. Especially the fish, I like my Saba. Although they did make a pretty good Agi, if only the fish was sliced a little finer to bring out the flavor and texture. Overall not a bad place and on the list for a redo.

Whenever sushi comes to mind, I think Jae’s. The quality of their fish is fresh, clean and authentic to taste. I recommend sitting at the sushi bar if you want the full experience. You’ll have the chance to meet the owner, Jae, who’s really great to talk to while you’re eating. I almost always order the salmon poke salad, calamari, and their Pad Thai is seriously to good to pass up. If you’re not looking forward to spending much, come in during their happy hour. They have a large variety of food and sushi priced at $ 4-$ 5 that you won’t find at many sushi restaurants. The food is amazing, the staff is very quick and friendly and I always leave wishing I had another bowl of the salmon poke. Seriously, it’s that good.

What isn’t there to say abouts Jaes, Jae and the staff are friendly, courteous, and they have their cute little quircks, which makes it a family like operated place. I’ve experienced about all the craziness of dining at Jaes because Im a regular client and it doesn’t fall short of the usual and unusual norms of hospitality. I assure you that the happy hour is an awesome deal with the quality that you get. There’s sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and also for the not so converts of the raw side they have an array of asian cooked items as well. I see a lot of regulars and diners of Jaes that posted some of my favorite pics so be sure to check them out and definitely ask for Jaes omakase and Feng’s kickn homemade potstickers. So check Jae’s out and pull up a seat at the bar and you won’t be disappointed! :)

What could I say about this place that hasn’t been said? This is my favorite restaurant for sushi in Seattle. My two favorite dishes are the salmon poke salad and the calamari. Both are amazing and are available during happy hour. The service is fantastic as well. If you sit at the bar, you have the option to order from Jae himself. He’s a great chef and you could have a great conversation with him. The servers are also extremely friendly. I usually drink a ton of water when I eat and they’re quick to deliver and checked in on my table every chance they got. I would definitely recommend Jae’s! If you haven’t tried now, try asap!

Best fresh sushi you’ll ever get, and the happy hour is a good deal! Happy hour is 5 – 7 everyday but Sunday, with good portions suiting that term, «happy» hour. Uni with qual eggs here are to die for! All of the kitchen food are good as well. Mussels, spring rolls, noodle bowl beef, beef lotus salad, steamed oysters, etc. All to my liking! Anyone into sushi and Vietnamese, Thai, or Korean food should come and try this place out, you will not regret it :)

What I liked about Jae’s is that even though it’s Pan-Asian, they didn’t add a lot of frills in their sushi. Their speciality rolls got a little frilly but nothing too wild like Japonessa or Umi style. We came on a Friday night and it was reasonably busy but we got a table immediately. The two of us shared the Westport roll(Seared albacore, roasted shallots, mayo sauce, cilantro, cumber, avocado), the Vietnamese spring rolls with shrimp and a nigiri platter of tamago, salmon, uni and albacore. The fish was fresh and the slices were big. I like it when the slices are way bigger than the rice and this was no exception. The uni was good but not as fatty as some other places I’ve had it at. The Westport roll and spring rolls were also good. The Westport roll didn’t get too frilly and the seared albacore was yum. The service here is pretty good and the prices are about what you expect for the food and atmosphere. Some of the rolls and seafood were more in the high teens but there’s plenty of dishes for less as well. All in all, I enjoyed my meal at Jae’s and would come back!
