Came here for the first time with a Groupon for bottomless mimosas at brunch. Was not disappointed. Take a look at the menu when you will find something for every foodie. So solid food options, including eggs Benedict, beet salad, stuffed French toast, and lots of burger options. Even happy hour will keep you occupied, with $ 2 tacos or $ 8 for a burger and tallboy. Ambience is cool, service is consistent, portions are fair, etc. Probably want to make a reservation during peak hours, just to be safe. Nice little outdoor patio is great for warm weather visits.

I live down in Mt. Baker and drove all the way to Fremont because I was craving a burger. Uneeda Burger — right up Fremont Ave from Hunger — was closed because their computer system was down, so we strolled down the road to grab a bite here at Hunger. We got seated right away, and they even made room for us on the then– crowded patio because we wanted to eat outdoors. Since I knew I was in that part of the city for a burger, it didn’t take me too long to order. Our server was friendly, took our order promptly, and(and I give her big props for this, since it’s not always a given when ordering a burger) didn’t forget to ask how I wanted it cooked. I told her«Medium Rare.» The food took the better part of an hour to show up, despite the fact that over the course of that hour the restaurant had, for the most part, cleared out. Two of us at the table had ordered burgers, both mid-rare, and both came out totally well-done: brown and crumbly without a hint of pink. They season their fries and, I think their ketchup, with some smokey spice — kind of tastes like powdered adobo, or something — which I’m not a big fan of, but I can’t really knock them for, as it’s just a matter of personal preference. I can and will knock them, though, for the fact that the fries were luke-warm, and that most of mine were brown little stubbies — it seemed like my fries had been scraped from the bottom of a once-full warming tray. Bummer. It’s a nice setting to eat outdoors on a beautiful day, and the server was friendly and prompt, managing to keep our waters full throughout our time there, but the kitchen was unforgivably slow given that almost no one in the restaurant was around to be putting orders in at the same time as us, and that the food was so poor.

This place gets 1 star because our server and bartender were very friendly and accommodating, but I was VERY disappointed in the food and drink — especially for the price. While the restaurant has a trendy vibe and friendly service, the food was just really bad. Our beers were not only flat, but our french dips had little to no flavor. There are a lot of really cute places to eat in Fremont, this is not one I would recommend.

Had the shrimp and grits… good but grits needed a bit more cheese in them. my hubby had the burger, that was just ok… fries were good. The menu was ok, but they were out of quite a few things citing they were changing the menu to fall soon. Well… honestly. I was a chef for many years. you keep everything on until you change the menu.

I’ve been here twice — at different times of day, different days, different guests. I have to say they are well-named — Hunger… you definitely leave hungry. Both times I’ve come, our party left hungry — when we come for Sunday brunch, we were seated, and only then told that the breakfast menu had stopped and they wouldn’t serve lunch for another 30mins. We asked if we could get something simple, and after much discussion in the kitchen, our server returned to say we’d have to sit and wait for 45 minutes before we could even order — 30 minutes until ‘lunch’ began, and then another 15 mins while they prepped for orders. Once we came for dinner, and were told that we HAD to sit at the high chairs by the bar. One of our party was in great pain and could not manage those chairs. Although the restaurant was deserted, they made a great fuss about our desire to sit at a ‘normal’ table. Then they came back after a while and told us they weren’t ready to start serving dinner yet, and we’d have to wait at least 15 minutes(possibly more — they weren’t sure) until we could even place an order. If you aren’t ready to feed people, why are your doors open and your staff seating people??? Just stay closed until you are ready to actually SERVE people!!!

I’ve been here more times than I care to count, but the truth is you can’t find better pub food and service in Fremont — or maybe Seattle. Get the fries(made with crack, I assume), the chicken caprese sandwich, or the burger. Expect the service to be stellar. Man-friend and I went for dinner tonight with our pup and the intention of sitting on the patio, «braving» the sprinkling rain because we are true Seattle-ites now. Cue torrential downpour. Server ushers us and our canine indoors. And our dinner came with a treat for the hound, too. This place is almost never full, and it concerns me a bit that this doesn’t bode well for business. And I think I mentioned the crack-fries, so it’s safe to assume I would need rehab if they closed. Ain’t nobody got time for dat. Maybe you guys just haven’t been told to go here yet, but I’m here to tell y’all to get with the program. The chicken caprese program. Oh, and if brunch is more your cup of mimosa, they’ve got you covered in that arena, too.

Cab dropped us off in front of this place, a couple steps from hotel hotel hostel; a few friends and me just hit back to civilization after a week of backpacking in Hoh and then near Rainer… I needed a drink, and a bite, the patio and inside of this spot seemed funky, but a different type of funk than I was experiencing; first my crew needed to check into the hostel, hose down and change clothes… «we’ll be back» ~Ah-nald Fresh and clean i pop back in and grab a seat at the bar, friends lamed out. :p place noticeably quieter and I quickly notice, tho barely 11, staff seems to be resigned that herds have thinned, gonna be a dead night, will prob close b4 midnight… sigh… I happened to sit next to a staffer settling her tabs, etc… Nicole? Carol? Can’t recall but she was damn helpful. Gave me the low down on the late night happy hour and menu 9pm till close and a few food and drink suggestions… I tried the blood and sand made with scotch, pretty close to my preferred drinks with bourbon; perfectly done not overly sweet, but I shoulda requested it on the rocks since martini glasses seem all«sex and the city» to me now, ruined. I scarfed down blt and beef sliders, fries and shrimp taco. Maybe I shoulda added extras to the sliders($ 1 ea for cheese avocado, other stuff) as nada came across as epic and worth a re-up. Fries were pretty good and I liked the doing sauces that came with, over just ketchup; these things come seasoned in more than just salt, a nice change but wish I’d gotten a heads up. Skip the shrimp tacos, chef work on those… My stars here are based on service vs food, tho one bonus point for the drink. Hard not to give good service when a place is empty, but staff didn’t just ignore me while they were shutting things down… And not only did Misty? Paula? Whatever… give me recommendations for this place, she gave me a list of other spots to try in the neighborhood, like written on actual paper, to make sure I get the most out of my two night stay in the area. This is THE place to have brunch on Sunday Funday in Fremont. The music is always bumping, the peeps on the patio are super fun, $ 15BOTTOMLESSMIMOSA, and the food is perfect for hangovers(I go benedicts usually and fellow veggies, the new mushroom gravy is bomb). The service is a whole ‘nother paragraph. Absolutely what service should be. Fast, accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, and just all around cool people you want to be friends with. There is this adorable waitress with long brown hair who works every brunch. I think my boyfriend and I are both a little in love with her. She somehow works the entire patio by herself, has engaging conversations with every group, and makes sure I never see the bottom of my mimosa glass. She’s a gem and you should definitely sit in her section. I’ve heard from a friend that dinner isn’t as on point. She said the effortlessly cool thing they got going on at brunch doesn’t transfer to night very well. I can’t say either way, but I can heartily recommend brunch.

Coming from another city w amazing food(Portland!!!) I looked at the patio hoppin w fun music and fun people I was like YES! Looked at the Unilocal reviews and was like ooh… still looked so fun couldn’t help it. Service?! These people are adorable and never stop moving. Food chicken. And waffles and we did the fries w eyes… healthy I know. It was fabulous! We had fun and bottomless mimosas and are stuffed!!!

Excited to check out Fremont Sunday market! We walked around neighborhood afterwards and found«Hunger Bar & Grill». Score! We were craving burger so settled in here! We sat on the patio, greeted by waitress that just started today two hours ago! I asked if the burger came with fries for 12 bucks, she answered I have no idea but can find out. She came back with yes, so I ordered house burger and my friend ordered donut burger. We got our food and started to eat. We both asked for medium well done and got rare burgers! The waitress did not come back to check on our food, so flagged them done to return our burgers! 30 mins later we got house burger back then 45 mins later we got donut burger back in box for us to take go! Moral of story do not order a burger from this place unless you got plenty of time and not hungry!

Happy hour rules, especially because they reverse it! The fried fresh mozzerella was delectable and the dipping sauce was refreshingly unique and delish. Had the caprese chicken sammich and I would order it 12 times over — so good! Fries with their 20 spices were a bit too spicy for me.

I rarely write reviews, and having bartended for over 11 years, am exceptionally patient with and understanding of the challenges and problems that servers and bartenders might face during a busy shift. But they should change the name of this place to «Thirsty,» because I have rarely experienced slower service. I came for brunch with two other friends. We arrived near the end of brunch, and the restaurant was nearly empty. We ordered three bloody marys from the sever, and while there were perhaps one other table inside and two people at the bar, the bartender – an awkward looking kid with glasses – had almost no drink orders coming in. Yet, it took about 25 minutes for him to make three drinks. It might have been slightly more understandable had he been making them fresh, but this was basically about transferring ice, vodka, and bloody mary mix from their respective containers into three pint glasses. We sat at our table watching him in near silence most of that time, because at some point what was tragic and annoying became comic. One of my friends and I have both bartended for over 11 years and have never seen anyone move so slowly. It’s hard to say whether this was deliberate or not. When someone moves that slowly, you wonder whether it takes a concerted effort or whether it comes naturally. Half the time he spent«making» our drinks was actually taken up by holding an empty pint glass or one filled with ice will talking to his friend at the bar. He seemed like he couldn’t care less that he was making drinks for customers. The other half seemed to be spent in confused contemplation, presumably deciding whether or not he would attempt the next stage of salting the rim or transferring bloody mary mix into the glass. I can’t think of any reason why someone would move that slowly other than a simple lack of caring and attention. What was even more astounding is that our server never reproached him for taking so long. I can’t imagine any server not getting pissed off at a bartender who leaves her table waiting for drinks for nearly a half hour. After all, his snail’s pace is affecting her tip. Eventually, she dropped off our drinks without as much as an apology or hint of acknowledgement that we’d just lost precious minutes of our lives to a bartender who couldn’t care less. I’ve worked plenty of insanely busy brunch shifts during which the sheer volume of orders makes it nearly impossible to get drinks out quickly enough. I know what it’s like to be «in the weeds.» But this bartender was not in the weeds. He was on lounging around on a neatly mowed grassy lawn. It must have been nice where he was…

Came here after having a few drinks at Fremont Brewery. Overall, the food isn’t bad. I ordered the BBQ pork sandwich, which was pretty flavorful and packed between pretzel buns. The fries were also pretty good as well in the beginning — deep fried with lots of salt! After a while though, I did feel like I had to keep on drinking water because I was getting thirsty. Thankfully, they give you a big glass bottle so that you can self-serve without asking for more(I did appreciate this a lot). One thing I don’t get is why the $ 6 happy hour burgers are only available at the bar? The patio is like literally outside… is it that big of a deal? Not too many places that I’ve been to usually do that type of HH setup. The HH menu was a little confusing in that on the left side it said(paraphrasing) «At the bar — Burger for $ 6» and on the right side it said«At the bar or the patio — Burger and a Drink for $ 8.» Turns out the Burger + Drink is only available at the bar, even though everything else on the right side of the page is available at both the bar and the patio. Are you lost yet? I was when I initially tried to place an order. To sum things up, food is 3.5−4 stars, but they might benefit by going a little bit easier on the salt. The HH drink menu looks pretty good, so I’ll have to probably check this place out again in the future.

Came in from DC on business and some old friends and neighbors suggested that I go here and I am glad that we did. I love going to places where the food is well made from scratch. The house burger was amazing the avocado was perfectly ripened(a pet peeve of mine) and the bacon… Did I say bacon was flavorful without being overpowering. The seasoning was spot on without being too salty which is a problem with most restaurants… But shut the front door the seasoning on the fries was the most outrageous things I have had in a while. It’s a 20 seasoning spice mix that I think they should put in bottles and place on the table! The selection of local brews was very satisfying, the music selection, and vintage music posters were great. The environment is the kind of place that you want to go and relax, unwind and just have fun. I will be going to back to Freemont for business and I will be back for seconds. Cheers!

Used to have great food, now it’s pretty generic and overpriced. Service definitely seemed like they were trying but even basically empty everything was still painfully slow(I’d fault the kitchen over our server). The ribeye was terrible, although to be fair I’ve heard their other steaks are better. Overall there’s just no reason to go here, unless you want super generic/overpriced(3 shrimp in an almost $ 20 appetizer??).

I said I would go back for updates :) and I kept to my word. I am upping my review to 4 stars :) Bottomless Mimosas once again — crushed it and so worth it. Had the pulled pork sandwich — pretty freaking amazing. pork was super good and the pretzel bun was quite the delight. Homemade hot sauce — sold! fries were awesome as they were super crispy which i’m into. Roommate had the BLT benedict — that was awesome — I tried it — not salty at all. Other friend had the bacon wrapped pancakes — he said it was so worth it.

Really great happy hour menu. Get the ceviche and fresh made tortilla chips, deeeeelish! IPA was pretty good, they were all out of the Black Butte Porter :( It was a beautiful sunny day in May, patio was best spot to be. Working on turning this pale skin to cinnamon. Can’t get any better than this!

We stopped into Hunger for brunch on Sunday after we had been to the Fremont Market. We just moved to Seattle so we don’t have the old Hunger to compare it too. Which is fine by me. We liked this Hunger. We will definitely be back for brunch. The $ 15 for all you can drink Mimosas is enough of a draw(I can drink A LOT of Mimosas on a Sunday Funday) but the food was the star of the show. My husband had some sort of blueberry muffin, bacon and egg that I though sounded very suspicious on the menu. And then it arrived and I smelled it… and then he gave me a taste! Why oh why didn’t I order that??? Don’t get me wrong, my benedict was perfectly fine but oh, that bluberryeggbacon cup! Divine! I really liked the potatoes that came with our meal too, they were extra salty and crunchy, just the way I like them. Our service was great, servers were very friendly and attentive. I could definitely while away a couple of hours on a Sunday sitting on their patio with a Mimosa in hand. Thanks, Hunger, we’ll be back!

I wanted to try this place out a couple weeks ago after a friend mentioned it but it was closed. I guess they were remodeling? I dont know. walked by just recently and saw they were opened up again so my boyfriend and I went to check it out a couple days later. The food and drinks were outstanding! Especially considering the manhattahn my bf had and my martini were only 5 dollars on happy hour. There wasn’t any food on happy hour but we had the crab ceviche and brussell sprouts. Both were exactly what we were looking for and still close to happy hour price. About $ 15 for both. If I was hungrier I would have gone for the donut burger. Omg! Our bartender was a pretty awesome guy too. Friendly and made great drinks. Thanks Wakeen! We will be back.
