Things have changed here lately. There is only ever one employee, she said that the other one quit and she’s the only one. The last two times I tried coming here, they were closed even though the store hours they post on their window says they should be open. When I do go, there’s always a big wait and the last time I made an appointment it didn’t get started until an hour after the set time. What’s the point! You can’t even go with a girlfriend to get your nails done because there is only one worker!

I’d gotten my nails done yesterday. It was my first time there. I didn’t catch his name but he was a middle aged man. Anyways, I feel as if he did such an incredible job! He was very thorough while doing every little detail and was super friendly! The shop if fairly small and they don’t get as much service as they should. I definitely wanna tell other people to try this place out because it’s quite small but very cozy. I’ll be coming back in.

This is the place I go to for my pedicures and shellac manicures. Vivian is the owner and her brother Justin both do nails. They are a great duo! I initially saw Vivian my first time for a pedicure and shellac manicure. I was very satisfied with what I left the salon with! I’ve seen Justin a few times as well but I believe his specialty is acrylics and technical nail designs! Vivian also does waxing. Eyebrows and upper lip. She does a great job! Never leaving me with thin eyebrows like many other Vietnamese shops do. There’s side parking and bus stop near this shop. I’d definitely make an appointment if you don’t want to wait. I get lucky and never have to because I try to go when people are working.

Staff is amazing they take their time and do a great job! No hopping around between customers :-) if I could more stars I would. I drive from Shoreline to the south end just for their great service!

I am very particular about my pedicures and they both do an amazing job! Both have done my pedicures but I prefer Justin. The reason why I like them so much is because they don’t just cut your cuticles… they also make sure to remove all hangnails EVERYTIME. They don’t rush through your service because someone has walked through the door because they will let them know how long it will be before they will get serviced. I deducted one star because they hardly ever ANSWERTHEPHONE!

This was my first time getting a pedi and a mani and I was very skeptical on letting someone touch my toes. My pedicure was very nice and attentively done and my mani was done nicely as well! Justin did my nails and he gave me massages on my legs and hands. I will definitely come back here because it was enjoyable and my toes and nails came out very nice. And I know what nice nails look like because I’m Vietnamese(ha ha)

I just drove off like a minute ago from this place first off they don’t know how to pick up there phone second off they have only 1 customer and I’m waiting for my turn and I’m sitting there for like almost and hour and a half and than when it’s my turn this guy goes in the back room and I’m still waiting. Like really? Ever heard of customer service? So I’m like fuck it I’m not going to deal with this crap fact that they just wasted my time.

I am going to give this place 4 stars because they are by far. the most attentive nail/waxing salon in the Columbia City area. Since the new ownership, the service here has improved tremendously. I would have never gone to Hollywood Nails prior to the ownership change. I only come here for waxing(lips and eyebrows). I have also gotten pedi and mani services from here. Both of which were beyond satisfactory. The owner is a very nice lady who takes great time with her customer. You can get a pedicure here and they will take the time to perfect your little toes/hands. Any place that will take 1+ hour to do a basic mani and pedi receives 4 stars in my book. I usually get my nails done by the boy(her cousin) and waxing done by the boss lady herself. I have never left unsatisfied/unhappy. Her cousin(the boy) usually does my nails and if there is anything that I can vouch for, it’s his level of service. He is very attentive and detail oriented. I’ve actually have struck a conversation with her about this. Her logic on why she only employs family member is because they will take the time out to provide excellent service in order to keep the business and customer happy/coming back. The one star deduction is due to the fact that they charge .50 cents for using your debit card.

I used to like this place. I’m not sure what happened. My last pedicure looked like crap after just a week. What’s worse, is that my cuticles were mangled during my manicure, so they ended up tearing and bleeding later on. That, for me, is unforgivable.

As the weather turns warmer and the shoes get more open toed I decided that it was time to pamper my little piggies with some TLC. Having received somewhat of a subpar experience a few weeks ago from another salon made me appreciate how well of a job Hollywood did on my nails. The pedicure was painfree and turned out beautifully. My manicure was equally as beautiful and for a total price of $ 37 it can’t be beat. On the downside of things the place was kind of shabby. The girls who worked there were constantly chatting which was kind of annoying and made me question how focused they were on my nails. My friend was unfortunate to not have the same experience and left wanting more. I really think that it depends on who you get when you go there. Hopefully the next time I go back I will be lucky enough to get the same lady again!

Yes, this is a cheap nail salon on Rainier. But I got a totally acceptable pedicure from a guy who did not hurt me and made sure that what he was doing was OK with me each step of the way, at a base price of $ 17($ 20 total for the French). The surroundings were a bit cluttered, but appeared clean. The staff who weren’t busy were chatting and having lunch with their kids on the empty pedicure chairs toward the back. I appreciate a job well done, and I appreciate also that these families work hard in questionable conditions(toxic fumes and feet! fun!) for prices that kinda tear the precious veil off the whole spa atmosphere concept. Yeah, it’s going to be hit and miss, so I’m glad I got a hit!

see Ariel’s review. It really IS ghetto-fab.

This is my favorite ghetto-fab nail shop on Rainier. Granted, you have your pick of low-price nail places in this neighborhood, but weirdly, this is one of the few open on Sunday, which is what first pulled me in. But then I stayed for the cheap prices($ 20 for a spa pedi) and easy parking. Service is competent(but not at all chatty — I think the manager is the only one fluent in English) and they do a great job with the toe-bling like little rhinestones or tiny painted flowers. They can be aggressive with the toenail poking and cutting, so don’t be afraid to let them know if they’re hurting you.
