I just happened to stumble upon this coffee shop while killing time before my hair appointment. Great taste and flavor. I’m very particular with my mocha breve and they make it really good even when it’s decaf, which can be a hit or miss with the taste.

This is definitely one of my go to coffee shops in the University District. For me, whenever I go to a coffee shop I go because it’s either interesting in terms of looks, or a recommendation. In this case it was both. The shop itself has tons of places to sit, has wifi, overall good vibes, and a really cool bathroom actually(which you wouldn’t expect to care about as much until you go in there) As for the coffee, I enjoy the Café Latte and Mocha the most. The Lattes are smooth, rich, and sweet from the milk without tasting like there was artificial sweeteners. I usually add simple syrup to my latte but at Herkimer there’s no need. The Mocha is to die for if you’re just dipping your toes in drinking coffee. Even if you’re a coffee drinker, it’s nice to spice things up with it as well. The baristas are incredibly nice, always joking around and just generally making my morning coffee a better experience overall. Been coming back for more, and will keep doing so! Love you Herkimer!

I get my coffee here almost every day! I love the coffee and how fast the service is! They have the nicest baristas and they quickly learned my name and drink! I love seeing them everyday! Also, their manager is super nice and awesome!

Earthy espresso flavor. Overall temperature of my triple shot 12oz vanilla latte was a little cool and I’m not one that likes scalded milk either. Barista knew his equipment with La Marzocco and Mazzer equipment. None of that fully automated stuff you see everywhere else.

Delicious coffee Caveat: .25 credit card transaction fee, which they don’t tell you about

Great find in Seattle! No line and carefully hand crafted. Good prices and a cozy spot. Beautiful coffee art. Friendly baristas. Need to come back again!

So glad that this place is so close to my apartment! The multiple times I’ve been here, it’s never been crowded and it’s always super relaxing to walk in here. The staff is pretty friendly in the afternoon, but the staff in the morning fluctuates. The americano I got here was pretty good, but you HAVE to get a cappuccino here! It’s definitely one of the smoothest and creamiest I’ve had in the area :) This place isn’t a bad place to study especially since they play good music, but it’s definitely not study music since they play it kind of loud. Still, I love the relaxing atmosphere here and I’ll definitely be back since it’s so close to where I live!

Great coffee — rude service this morning by both workers. Won’t be back but it was nice to see what all the hype was about! My cap was fantastic!

Among the best espresso shops in the entire city. They produce delicious lattes consistently and have a limited, but tasty choice of baked goods. It’s hard to find coffee this good in Manhattan!

Came in since the reviews were so good and I was nearby. Very smooth coffee, which I like. My cappuccino was lovely and creamy. Had wifi so I got some work done. Nice jazz playing in the background. Not a huge menu but what was available was really good. Got the chocolate w raspberry glaze donut from Might O which was to die for! Lots of regulars came in and they were often greeted by name – exactly what you want in a neighborhood coffee shop. Loved it and will definitely be back.

Tiny shop, incredibly rude baristas, and the coffee wasn’t memorable.

Good coffee! I got the iced vanilla latte on a sunny day and it was the perfect spot to cool down. They have a very cool industrial feel. The barista was friendly and they had smaller tables for 2 and maybe one larger table for bigger groups. Also had a couple of tables outside for patio seating. I think they wholesale their cold brew!

A decent place doesn’t require you to wear headphone but provides better music that you are able to relax and focus on your work.

Can’t say enough about this place. Stopped by this place to get coffee and get some work done. When we first came in, we were warmly greeted by the barista. We conveniently found a table and plugs for our laptops. After we got our stuff settled on a table, we went to order some coffee. The barista were very cheerful and helpful. He suggested variety of drinks for us to try, since it is our first time been to this place. I ordered Ice-Mocha and Cinnamon roll(best heated). The place overall is quite and clean. I love the fact that their bathroom is so clean that i can say that it is one of the cleanest public bathrooms i ever seen. Definitely recommend this place.

Great place to get some work done in a quiet and calm environment. It’s also very very clean. Even the bathroom is spotless! They do not have the largest variety of food or drinks but they have good coffee, tea, and some pastries. There is street parking, it was free(Saturday). The barista was very friendly too. Good customer service! I will definitely come back to this place soon!

Based on another tip I ordered two Americanos(rather than the drip) and a trail cookie. Everything was top-notch! The barista was super nice and helpful. The store itself is rather small if you wanted it to be a workspace for the day but all in all it was a great experience and I would return if I was in the area.

A hip coffee shop off the Ave that is perfect for getting work done and catching up with friends. My coffee was great and prices were pretty normal, probably even on the less expensive side. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come to this coffee shop, but if you’re in the U District and want to get away from the Starbucks and the students this is the perfect spot. It has a streamlined and clean interior and really polite and nice baristas!

Every Seattleite has a favorite coffee shop that is not Starbucks; this is mine. I spent a good portion of my summer here working on medical school applications or reading and immediately fell in love with the café. The ambiance, music selection, friendly baristas, and most importantly, superior espresso drinks kept me coming back. My drink of choice is either a mocha or nonfat vanilla latte. In the summer, the air conditioning is on a bit high so bring a jacket if you are planning on staying in the café for a while. Otherwise, pastries are discounted after 4pm so sit yourself down for a relaxing cup of coffee and a good book. Return: always whenever possible!

Delicious coffee, friendly staff, not too loud, and good wifi. Really all you can ask for from a coffee shop. Also, their pastries get discounted after 4 pm.

I’ll save you my sad tale of woe, of driving to Herkimer Coffee in Phinney for the occasional genius latte, subjecting myself to the rabid ticket happy ire of the Seattle Parking Enforcement authorities,(gulp, how much was this latte combined with ticket combo worth?) only to find out that all along, I had a Herkimer right up the street in NE Seattle. Well, my only regret is fossil fuel waste, because this coffee is worth a drive around town for. Smooth, strong, perfect creama, nice ambiance and baristas that know their stuff. Nice, not cloyingly sweet mochas. Mighty Donuts and a small, well edited baked goods collection and free-wifi, along with a good but small little set up for working remotely. Downsides: no way to warm up the baked goods(sniff-sniff) and a european customer service vibe(none too obsequious.) Also, this location is smaller than the more roomy Phinney set up, and has minimal outlets, should you need to charge up. One of my two favorite spots for a near perfect latte in the NE of Seattle, and while I won’t assert that I still won’t garner a ticket from that determined swarm of blue and white Seattle meter maids, at least I am now leaving a smaller carbon footprint.
