I would give a zero if I could. Worst fade I’ve ever had, even showed a picture before I got cut of how I wanted it. Pretty much gave me a Mohawk on one side and a low fade on the other. Visible lines on back and no blending. Place is a joke…

My boyfriend went in to get a haircut, and I went with him. I’m essentially his consultant(his words), and I normally help him articulate to the stylist what he wants done to his hair. The young lady took him to his chair and I began to follow, but quickly realized that there was nowhere for me to sit and join them, so I hung back. She began asking all the usual questions about a hair cut, and my boyfriend quickly answered with, «My girlfriend knows more than me, can she come – « First unfortunate thing; she cut him off, saying«I’m just going to go with ½ inch,» when in the beginning my boyfriend said 1 inch to 1 ½ inches. I knew right then he was pissed lol. Haircut continues, my boyfriend is agreeing to all she is asking just so it can be over with. I keep peaking over, it hardly looks like she’s cutting anything off at all. She gets to his sideburns, and asks if he wants anything done to them… He says that he likes them cut into a point, she suggests putting a little product on them and they’ll go into a point naturally??? She then proceeds to say, again, «I’m just going to do this,» and cuts them straight across on the bottom… Uhhhh… By the end he pretty much had a bowl cut lol. So we ended up going back home and I finished cutting it. The reason we went to a salon in the first place is because I don’t feel experienced enough with cutting a man’s hair to the length my boyfriend wanted it. But I tried my best, and it still looked better than what she did. TL;DR — the girl didn’t listen at all and did whatever she wanted. No good.

Another glowing review for Yoseph! He is very very talented, and would do fine in any salon he chose to work at. Lucky for me he chooses HairMasters in Ballinger, and I have had the good fortune of being his client for the past year. He is so professional and personable, remembers everyone’s name and what’s going on in their lives(makes me feel good) but on top of that, he really knows his craft. My tight curly hair can be a challenge to train, but I was always happy when I got home from an appointment with him. Makes me sad that I have now moved out of the area. I hope I can find someone in my new neighborhood who is half as good as Yoseph!

Yosef is a great hair artist. He listens and does exactly what I want. I’ve been a client over 1.5 years and have always been thrilled at the outcome. Even though Hairmasters is low price, the quality and professionalism is high quality.

This review is for Yoseph who cuts the hair of my husband, son, and even my personal trainer(who recommended him to us). Yoseph is a talented, and kind person, and always makes everyone look good! I recommend him highly, and advise all to make an appointment in advance because he’s really good, and often booked.

I must put a disclaimer on this 4 stars. I would give 5 stars for Yoseph and Nusrat. Who are two of the best hair stylists I have ever been too. Yoseph cuts my husbands hair and sons hair. He does a great job and is great about taking walk ins and fitting you in quickly between appointments. Nusrat is amazing. She blows any hair stylist I have ever been too out of the water. I have tons of fine, pin straight hair and she can shape it into a bob that looks great and stays that way. She takes her time and makes it perfect every time. I have never been disappointed. She will check with you through out the cut to makes sure you are pleased. I am a huge fan. One day when I really needed a cut and Nusrat was not available I decided to try out the new younger gal they have there. It was bad, really bad. She did not listen to my requests at all — I even asked her mid way through the cut to take another 2 inches off she said to me «oh don’t worry your hair is wavy it will shorten up after it dries» as I stated above I have pin straight hair — it wont even hold a curl. This is terrifying to hear from someone who has their hands on your hair. I ended up with one of the worst hair styles I have ever had. I walked out looking 10 years older and very upset. One time my husband walked in and Yoseph wasn’t there so this same gal cut his hair — half way through the cut she said to him«I have no clue what I’m doing». Scary. Long story short — this place is great if you go to the right stylist.

I signed up on Unilocal first time ever to leave this review. I have tried to take my boys in to get a cut 3 times now all 3 times only one woman in the shop playing on her phone(no customers) every time we have gone in she tells us that it will be over an hour and has an appointment in 5 min. Exact same words all 3 times. This time I left my car parked in front walked across parking lot to drug store came back 20 min later looked in window and still no customers and woman playing on her phone. Never again. Shame it’s the closest place to my house.

I don’t really care for salons, but I was overdue for a haircut and this place was close and convenient. I told the guy(Joseph?) I wanted it short and tapered, like an early 60s style. Like a lot of «barbers» these days, he was shy about cutting it short, even though I repeatedly told him how I wanted it. What part of «short» don’t you understand? Eventually I got tired of trying to explain to him that some men like their hair short, the concept seemed to be foreign or unseemly to him. To top it off, he trimmed off my «widow’s peak»(for those who don’t know, a «widow’s peak» is where your hairline comes to a point in the middle of the hairline in front). WTF? I couldn’t believe it, he just did it before I could object. Prices high, quality low.

Great cut from Kendra, friendly, quick, professional! She also recommended a few products for my hair. I haven’t been here since Charlie left, but I will come back to see Kendra soon. I made an appointment, although they are not required.

Love this place! I go here every other Tuesday and get my haircut by Yoseph. Since the first time I went, Yoseph cut my hair and did such a great job. Since then, I have never went anywhere else for a haircut. Yoseph has always cut my hair the way I like it without asking how to cut it, he just knows at this point. Thank you for your service Yoseph! I am happy to continue having my hair cut by you!

It was the closest place to where I live so one day I walked in to get my hair buzzed off with a trimmer that would take about five minutes at most. The stylist said there were two people coming in at ten o’clock who had appointments and she could fit me in if I waited thirty minutes. It was only six minutes to ten o’clock and I didn’t feel like waiting thirty more minutes for a five minute haircut. The preference for appointments over the walk-ins(who are allegedly welcome) earns this place one more star. Being open on a Monday earns a star, the third star is just the benefit of doubt because I have yet to get my hair cut there.

Worst hair cut I have ever had by leaps and bounds. Had to re-trim some of it(the places that could be fixed) and waiting for the rest to grow out. One side of the back is ½ inch higher than the other. Get what you pay for I guess…

Ditto on Charlie: I usually go to high-priced salons and end up paying a fortune, but Charlie came very recommended to me, so I gave her a try when I was in a pinch. She did a great job, and I will be going back! The price was 1/3−¼ what I normally pay.

Yoseph is the man. He is a great stylist who is very detail oriented and makes sure your hair is perfect. He remembers his customer and treats them like family. He is the reason I go back there time and time again. It is worth calling ahead and making an appointment as he does get pretty busy with his repeat customers.

I have to give a shout out to Charlie(a woman) at the Ballinger Way Hairmasters. I have normally avoided chain hairstyling places like the plague, but I heard good things about Charlie and decided to give her a try. She is WONDERFUL! Very talented and she really listens to what you want and also offers her own opinion — stuff I associate with much higher priced salons. I have seen her twice so far and I will definitely be going back. I took my 9-yr-old son to see her too and she gave him a great haircut — maybe the best ever. I am very happy!

Should change name to «Hair Maybes». My wife literally had to tell the girl to stop because even though she gave exact instructions on how she wanted her hair trimmed, the«stylist» did her own thing and royally screwed up. Me? I liked my upside down mop look better. I could stick my head in a blender and get a better haircut. Pass.

Worst hair cut ever! The whole experience was painful. You know when you are going to get a bad hair cut from the first two minutes you sit down. Now I feel like I should shave my head, my girlfriend tried to fix it, but didn’t want to mess it up further. I look like slingblade. One of those men’s haircuts where they cut the back up way to high on the neck. When the hair person was done there was hair everywhere. The robe was only half length and went down to about mid thigh. When we were finished the hair lady pulled the robe off and the hair went all in my lap and all over my body and shoes.
