Glazed Sugar & Polish

Alas, I have to change my rating for Glazed. Melissa got later and later making it to my appointment times. My last appointment she forgot about me entirely, and had to race in from home. She did not offer a reduction in the price for forgetting my appointment or being 20 minutes late, which I think she should have. It’s OK with me if people are late every now and then, but consistently being late is disrespectful of other people’s time. I have since had to find other sugar-​ers, and in comparison Melissa does a good job and her prices are great, but my schedule is tight and I need reliability.

Went to see Melissa for the first time last night and she was fantastic! Super gentle and very thorough. Definitely will be returning — my skin didn’t have that «fun» red tinge that you can get with waxing this morning. Highly recommend — she’s got great technique and makes you feel very comfortable.

Hair Removal 101: make it fast, make it clean, keep the conversation going.
My first sugaring experience was a fail on all accounts. Having waxed for over four years, I wanted to give a sugared brazilian a fair trial. Waxing tends to be traumatic in nature, but it has always been an efficient and cost-​effective solution to hair removal in delicate areas. Sugaring claims to be a more natural and cleanly alternative, but if there’s humidity (as apparently there was in my case) prepare to have your vagina splattered and ripped at with a sweet syrupy mess. Sugar coating or not, it’s still quite painful.
Same day appointment– yes! Glazed is located above the pilates studio near Mioposto (enter the studio and go upstairs) with ample street parking available. Melissa is sweet and informative, cash or check only. The sugaring room is tidy and hygienic. I wanted to like sugaring, but the affair quickly turned into a caramelized disaster of runny, sugary, hair-​ridden sauce flying about. And it hurt.
I truly don’t want to discredit her efforts, and I do want to support small business owners. After all she was diligently laboring over my southern regions for OVER AN HOUR. She remained patient and professional throughout the hot mess, only excusing herself from the room once to take a moment to compose herself. Maybe on a drier day it could have been a dream, it was a rare 70 degree Seattle day. By the end of the first hour Melissa was tired too, the conversation had stopped, and she had changed gloves and sugar globs three times in an attempt to keep the stuff from melting and goobering everywhere. She really tried, but It was not pretty. She did give me a discount for the hassle and in the end, the hair was mostly removed. Painfully.
Bottom line: wax on!!!

Melissa is great! I didn’t want too much of my brows to disappear or have a permanent surprised look, and she shaped them just how I wanted them.
Melissa’s technique is excellent and less painful than the usual waxing you’re used to.
I’ve only been to Glazed once, but I am a convert. Will definitely go back!

Melissa is a talented sugarist (sorry if that’s the wrong term) and a very pleasant person with competitive prices (I checked around and she’s the most reasonably priced sugarist I found.) I had first visit with Melissa at Glazed Sugar and Polish as well as my first experience with sugaring. I found sugaring to be far superior to waxing, especially in the delicate brazilian area… less pain (by half at least) less mess, less time on the table and no chemicals. If you’re a wax person who hasn’t considered sugaring, I speak from experience when I say you’d be crazy to go back to waxing after having tried sugaring.
Not to echo the other reviews but Melissa is a gem of a gal, she is very good at her job and puts you at complete ease, especially for a first timer. Her workspace is in a lovely neighborhood, in a beautiful old brick building and is very clean and tidy.
I am very happy I have found Glazed Sugar and Polish and am a happy customer who will definitely be going back here for all my sugaring needs. Thanks Melissa!

Very thorough and compared to waxing, the pain factor is minimal.

Melissa is wonderful and makes you feel comfortable easily. I’ve gone to her about 6 times now and she gets quicker every time as she learns your body. She doesn’t leave any hairs that could possibly come out. Sugaring with Melissa is the way to go!

I’ve been twice now and I have to agree that Melissa is attentive and makes the whole experience comfortable. Plus sugaring is way better than waxing!

Melissa at Glazed is amazing! She is friendly; detail oriented and offers very competitive pricing. I used to be a dedicated waxer until I found sugaring at Glazed… I know it sounds a little bizarre, but I feel like sugaring with Melissa changed my life. Or at least the way I think about hair removal! It’s practically painless, feels very clean and you don’t have to worry about that terrible anticipation of when the strip of paper is about to rip the hair from your pores. My skin has never been smoother or more hair free and I actually enjoy the time I spend lying on the table chatting with Melissa.
