I wasn’t about to come here, you see. I read up on some reviews and one that stuck out was Chrysta S. Her ordeal sounded unconscionable. She was charged for a moldy sandwich for christ sake!!! What was I to do? It was late, I needed a drink to take the edge off but my options were limited. Despite Chrysta’s review, I forged through the front door and took a seat at the bar. I don’t remember the barkeep’s name, Sal maybe? Beau? Clint? I can’t be sure. I ordered up Beam neat. I politely asked the barkeep what the situation was with rumors of moldy bread circling these parts. He looked at me as if he’d been touched by the archangel of death. He took a step back, lips quivering, eyes beginning to water– And that’s when I woke up. I never actually went to the bar that night! I passed out in my apartment complex’s lobby — I never got past the front door! Gee golly!!! Anyway, I walked back up to my apartment, turned on Desperate Housewives, poured myself a scotch and took my pants off. I don’t watch TV with pants… too restrictive. Oh, GLC. Yeah that is some good stuff. I like the taps.

ADDTHISTOTHETOPWIFIBARSOFSEATTLE. My vegan friend and I had some work to do so we met up here. Our server Nick was fun and attentive and the food was amazing(especially the Picard sandwich!) They had free WiFi, an excellent selection of beer and vegan food, Nintendo games, and an eclectic mix of music. A few years back we had a negative experience here(posted by Joe) due to a grumpy server. We decided to come back and try it again now that he’s gone. and I’m so glad we did! We will be back again soon. Thank you Nick for the excellent service!!!

GREAT vegetarian options(even for those who don’t like Field Roast) with some of the best grungy dive bar feels I’ve seen in Seattle.

Vegetarian everything and it’s all amazing. The atmosphere is perfect for after work hang outs — grungy vibe with fun wall art.

Its a nice place. I was only there once but the food was nice and the servers were attentive. Its definitely a little dark in there though, but very quiet when I was there. Maybe the time — 3:00pm and the party goers hadn’t yet come in to get drunk ;) Jokes apart though, if I’m in Georgetown for whatever reason, I’m happy to check it out or visit once in a couple of months maybe. But I won’t go out of my way to come here. If you live in the area though, sure — go check it out :)

This was my worst restaurant experience. I felt compelled to contact the health department. The employees were rude the food was basic things you can get at the store: field roast, bread, lettuce, and tomato. When I pointed out mold on the bread I was humiliated and mocked and was still charged for the mediocre moldy sandwich.

Georgetown Liquor Company is a curious name for a dive bar located down by the train tracks, off the beaten path, that serves up Vegetarian vittles. I wanted to check out their brunch that’s only offered on weekends. The address is listed as being on Airport Way but the front door is actually around the back on Lucille and 8th Ave. I got the Chick-non Fried Steak. It comes with some delicious crispy potatoes and your choice of bread. So of course ya boy had to get biscuits. The gravy was tasty and smooth. The biscuits kinda tasted canned but in a good way. The fried patty that was supposed to be the star of the plate, was kinda tough but had good flavor. My babygirl got the Hogthrob’s Breakfast sammich which was pretty good as well, with faux ham and a homemade tofu«egg». They have several sides including tempeh bacon and Vegan sausage. It’s probably Lightlife brand but it’s cooked well and tastes good. Their coffee was terrible. I normally sip as much coffee when theirs unlimited refills as I can but one cup was more than enough. At $ 2.50 a cup, it’s quite pricey for Yuban or Maxwell House. It’s not the first place I would head to for brunch but their Vegan options are plentiful. Besides, how many brunch places can you order a cocktail or beer at 10am and the bartender won’t give you a dirty look? In fact you’ll probably receive a high five for keeping the party going from the night before. Sure it’s dingy & dark but it’s quite unique as well. They even have old school video game consoles that you can play to pass some time. Brunch, booze, and video games. Sounds like a great Sunday morning to me!

Went here to meet a friend for happy hour. Loved that it’s a dive tavern that is funky and fun and serves… all vegetarian food! Yay!!! Thank you for giving us a fun, lowkey place where my veggie friends and I can order anything off the menu! The nachos were truly among the best I’ve ever had. I plan to go here often.

Currently waiting for over 20 minutes just for drinks. Only three tables in the whole place. Not even trying food, we wouldn’t get it before they close.

Good service, AMAZING comfort food, totally unique(has old school video games!), good beer selection, perfectly dive-y, great prices. I love this place. It’s unassuming and definitely underrated. If you don’t know yet, you’ll know after eating here that vegan doesn’t mean boring, gross, or unsatisfying. I dare you to hate it.

The food is great here, ESPECIALLY for vegan/vegetarian food. Great field roast sandwiches. I’ve been going here for years, and they are incredibly consistent, it’s always really good. Drinks are great too(caipirihnas!) The atmosphere is good and they generally have good music playing which is rare to find.

I came here last night with my roommate and my girlfriend. The bartender Corey provided more than excellent service and the food was fantastic. I would definitely be coming back here and be recommending it to my friends.

I’ve been here enough times over the years that I’ve had almost everything on the menu. For the most part, it’s all good. The breakfast burrito I most recently had clearly lost a fight with a microwave. It had that very distinct texture that only a microwave can provide. UGH! I really enjoy the sandwiches. The art on the walls rotates with different artists and if you see something you can’t live without you can buy it! One of my favourite aspects is the video games, which are provided at no cost. Service is usually good. Sometimes it’s a bit slow for no apparent reason, but it’s always friendly.

I love this bar. The food, drinks and service are all amazing. The bar tenders are extremely friendly and the drinks are actually reasonably priced. As a previous vegan, I love that they always clarify to see if you want vegan or just vegetarian.

This is a cool divey bar, old looking building, dark inside, but I like it! Wasn’t busy when we came in, the 3 of us got a booth and the bartender came over to get our drinks and provide us with some menus pretty quickly. Of course, we started off with some beers and got the vegan artichoke dip as an appetizer.(one of us is vegan) For us non-veganers, it tasted fabulous, and I would totally get it again. Hummus like consistency, «cheezy», great pita bread to spread it on and a good sized appetizer. The 3 of us couldnt even finish it and we were slathering on the dip pretty thick too! As for my main, I got the«Wrap of Khan»: a delicious wrap filled with super flavorful field roast, tomatoes, some tasty spices(kinda like taco seasoning). Seemed like the filling was cooked to order as it was super hot like it came off the pan! Yum! Huge wrap and came with chips & salsa as a side too! It was so filling! They have a good selection of hot sauces too, thanks to one of my friends, she mentioned to try the«Aardvark» one… flavorful but SPICY! My nose just started to sweat as I am typing this. Anyways, I liked this place, cool, chill, relaxed, dark, great place to have a drink, great vegan food, and lastly they have old skool Nintendo and Sega up front you can play! WHAT!!! There’s a list of games they have for each console, all you need to do is go towards the back and ask the bartender which game you want. Service was great, the bartender was our waiter and he was super cool and personable to chat with. I’m sure Ill be back!

It was new years day and I went with a group down to Georgetown. Stopped by for an early dinner and loved their food. As vegetarians the food was awesome and a nice selection of beers on tap. Looking forward to going back!

Disclaimer: Star rating would be a 4 for food, really enjoyed our food! 3 stars is because of service, super not OK service. I live in Georgetown and hadn’t been here in years. Called ahead to make sure they have gluten-free now and the woman on the phone said of course, we need to add that to the website. We sat down and waited, waited and waited. Finally we just got up and got our own menus. After waiting a while longer, the boyfriend went out for a smoke and then the waitress finally came over(I must mention they weren’t all that busy) we ordered our food and the waitress actually acted angry when I started to ask questions about their gluten free options. Like is your salad dressing gluten free, and if the menu has a gf next to it, does that mean it can be made gluten free or is it already gluten free. Pretty standard questions, nothing to strange. A friend of ours joined us and after about 10 mins he finally just went up and ordered his own beer because our waitress never came back. Or food arrived and it was all top notch :) Boyfriend had the nachos and I had tamales. Which were both filling and tasty no complaints on the food. Our bill wasn’t overly priced either 2 beers, nachos, tamales and a side of chips and salsa for under $ 30 bucks. We were done and ready to leave, after 20 or 30 mins of waiting I finally just got up and asked for a box for our leftovers. Couldn’t find our waitress so I asked another woman who was working. Now I usually am an OK tipper but after speaking with our table we all decided since our server pretty much never spoke to us and she was rather rude, she didn’t need a big tip and we left.(I know bad karma, but still) as we were walking to the car another woman who was working(could be a manager, maybe the owner) actually came up to me and asked me why my tip was small. I was rather caught off guard and flabbergasted tipping is optional! I realize that its polite to tip, and I’m sorry if we offended her, but to come and find me after we had left the establishment seems rather unprofessional. Plus the service was seriously some of the worst I’ve had, I figured it was and off night and was planning on coming back, but after she chased us down I don’t really want to go come back. If you go beware, the people that run the join may chase you down if you don’t tip!

Georgetown Liquor Company is awwwwesome! Great strong drinks, friendly staff, delicious vegetarian food, a relaxed atmosphere, decent prices, and good tunes. I had the best portobello mushroom sandwich here. I’ve been visiting Seattle for about two weeks now and have eaten here twice. Keep in mind that I’m a meat eater, but am totally satisfied eating just veggies here. Again… I can’t rave enough about that shroomy sandwich. Lol! Their loaded potato soup is pretty darn tasty too, as well as the polenta appetizer. My friend ordered the reuben one day and the meatloaf the next time. I really couldn’t tell it was vegetarian. All the food was terrific and I felt healthy grubbing down!!! Oh… and definitely try their pickled vegetables. They go perfect with a bloody mary! Best pickled veggies I’ve ever had. No joke. I’ll be sure to go back a couple more times before I head home.

One of those funky cool little corner bars that’s doing it right. Actually, I can’t even review it as a bar, because we were here for brunch. But it’s pretty clear that the bar part is working at least as well as the brunch part – and the brunch part is working very well. You walk into a cool misshapen triangular space in a very old building and there are booths along one wall, some tables, some pinball machines, some video games, and a bar along the back. Nothing’s expensive, nothing’s overly nice, it’s just a well-executed place to have some drinks and some food and some fun. The prices they pass along to you are similarly reasonable. We had biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, a coffee, and a beer, and it all came to $ 28. Very, very reasonable. They offer bloody marys; there’s a full bar. But my friend decided she wanted a beer. The food was good for sure – tasted pretty scratch made throughout. If there’s already starch on the plate, they replace the toast with fresh fruit, and the fruit is actually good. They upsold me on adding some vegan sausage on the side. This was totally unnecessary. I have plenty much appetite, but I couldn’t have finished the main plate anyway, let alone with the side added. The potatoes are perfectly cooked with plenty of flavor – the kitchen really knows what’s up here. The place is in a truly old building, which has pluses and minuses. The front room is charming; the bathroom feels like a grotty old warehouse. The toilet is pretty rickety, and you’re walking by mop buckets and down a ramp past an industrial sink to get to it. Nothing unkempt or unclean, just beat-up. One note; if you love chipper, outgoing service, this place will be a bit on the reserved side for you. We were there for a leisurely meal and a chat; since it wasn’t busy, we hung out for a bit. We never got any more conversation than the absolute bare minimum required to get our food and drink orders down on the pad. She was pleasant, and nice, and really good, but I don’t know if I’ve ever had a waitress who spoke less. We waited half an hour for our plates to be cleared and get our check, but we weren’t in a hurry, and she was handling a dozen tables by herself. This is not a demerit at all, but folks who get annoyed by trivial things in restaurant service might want to look elsewhere. The drink selections and prices all looked to be right on with the quality and prices of the food. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anybody who likes a good casual breakfast or drinks place, especially if they like to save a couple bucks.
