George’s makes a perfect sandwich. With high quality meats and traditional toppings, I always enjoy any selection I choose to enjoy.

Every time I come here, I leave with a huge smile and an awesome sandwich. First off this place is so cute and the women who work there are the sweetest. Sandwiches are made to order, you can choose the bread, meat, and cheese. I always get all the toppings which includes mayo, veggies, and some kind of coleslaw. There are also a bunch of interesting polish snacks. I’ve only ever bought chocolate and cookie looking things, but I’m sure the other stuff is good too. +1 for great service +1 for tasty sandwiches +1 for decent sized sandwiches +1 for great price +1 for accepting credit card/near my house/made to order/etc

HUGE!!! CHEAP!!! DELICIOUS!!! Come here if you are looking for any of the previously listed adjectives. This place is really awesome. They have a lot of foreign cookies and stuff as well but in reality you’ll prolly just get their sandwich. They don’t have any room to sit so have a plan when you come here.

I was excited to try this place after reading the good reviews. I sure love a good sandwich. Unfortunately I must have ordered the wrong thing. My corned beef sandwich was dry and tasteless. The bread, lettuce, and tomato were very fresh, however, and the place smelled great.

Delicious. Must stop and devour a sandwich! Ordered the pastrami on French bread. $ 6 can’t beat the price. Ill be back for some full deli smoked meat!

I love my food. I love it so much that I generally want to hide my sandwich mastery from the world. If Seattle only knew just how good of a sandwich this little corner deli can make you, and for less than 10 bucks, then the Swedish hospital up the street would be checking in emergency patients for sandwich line related injuries. Have you ever scratched and clawed your way to the front of a line for a sandwich? Or do, you just wait patiently like every other shlub? The flavor profiles and the meat quality for the price are worth a good tussle. I am not saying I want to see a sandwich brawl at George’s, but it seems reasonable… Honestly. Why fight over jobs and women when there are sandwiches at George’s that taste this good? Their corned beef, for instance… Excuse me… I mean… The Reuben that exists because of their corned beef. Yes, the corned beef is lean and flavorful. But, realistically it’s the sauerkraut. These lovely polish ladies are masters of sauerkraut. They’ve developed a fermented flavor that is not too sweet, not too sour, not too anything. It’s just right. They’ve invented a perfect Rueben! Every George’s sandwich has a sauce, be it a mayonnaise, mustard, that is slightly elevated above other Delis. I don’t know how they do it but they do. The vegetables on the sandwiches are fresh and crunchy. The bread is good but not overwhelming which is what you want when you’ve figured out how to elevate deli meat to the next level. If you are about to die at a local hospital, get a sandwich at George’s. It’s a worthy last meal because, let’s be real, there is not a food out there that is better than a sandwich, and there is hardly a sandwich in Seattle that is better than a George’s sandwich.

Possibly the best sandwich I have ever had! The folks were very courteous and the service was quick. Cute store too.

The staff was friendly and warm, the food was delicious, and the price was low. What is there not to love with this little oasis of warm meaty magic. They have a large assortment of imported items that I could not help but add to my order.

I can’t say enough about this place. Anyone who doesn’t give this place 5 stars is a liar. Great imported Polish beers, snacks, cakes, and jars and jars of pickled goods. The sandwiches are incredible and if you don’t already know you better ask somebody. The reuben and hot pastrami are what I switch off between, but of course you can select any deli meat from their impressive meat case and pick up a loaf of rye or pumpernickel and do it yourself all week, but then you don’t have the lovely ladies who run the place making your sandwich with love as they do. Homemade potato salad also stands out as a hit. They serve homemade soups too but I haven’t tried them yet. This should be a destination for everyone, even though I say this with hesitation because it’s already busy enough there at lunch time. Always worth it though.

lunch food: roast beef sandwich. the portion is huge. definitely filled me up. you can customize the sandwich with bread, cheese, and toppings. ***4/5 service: it takes awhile for the sandwich to be made. its also a small store with… i want to say eastern european goods. ***3/5 value: better than the chain footlongs. all over a little bit over 6 bucks. if you pay by card, you have to pay the processing fee. its not that much, but if you have cash, pay cash. ***4/5

Great place to grab a cheap meal. The sandwiches are so big, they usually last 2 meals. The pastrami is really good and it’s easy to go crazy with the ingredients.

Great hole in a wall restaurant near downtown Seattle. I had the turkey sandwich on wheat bread. The sandwich is STACKED with turkey and I liked the cucumbers and Italian seasoning to round out the flavor. Dirt cheap as well. Forget about Subway and came here instead.

Great food! I called in ahead and made my own sandwich. I had a sandwich, a side of potato salad and a soda for $ 10.99! The ladies put a ton of meat in your sandwich which is awesome. This place is pretty tiny and the lunch rush can be pretty hectic, so I suggest calling them ahead so you don’t have to wait too long. The potato salad is amazing by the way!

So this is where I would have attached a photo of the delicious Reuben I ate… If I was able to control myself and slow down long enough to take a photo. I will say it like this, before I worked in Seattle a coworker at my old place of employment told me I needed to go here at some point in my life. Little did I know I would take a job 2 blocks from it! From cured meats done by hand, to imported goods from across eastern Europe, once you step in the front door of this Polish Deli it’s as if you stepped of the plane in Poland. Best Reuben I have ever had, loaded with a mountain of corn beef hash and sauerkraut. Worth a detour, but be prepared to wait in a line if you go right at lunch hour.

I’m so sad that I have walked past this place a gazillion times the past 2 years I’ve been working a block away from them! I’ve been missing out on one of the greatest delis on First Hill! Usually, if I’m in a mood for sandwiches, I usually head up the street to a certain sandwich chain joint or order delivery from another due to my laziness to leave my office. Thank goodness for summer weather getting me out to walk! You can get a gigantic sandwich for less than $ 6 that is loaded with a ton of meat and all the veggie toppings you want at no extra charge! The ladies who work the counter are super sweet and a riot! If you are in the area and want a great sandwich for lunch, this is the place to go! Joey Tribbianni would fully support their sandwiches here!

Love this place– stumbled upon it on a Tuesday afternoon. We didn’t know what to order so the gal at the counter suggested we pick a meat and they would make-up one. I had a pastrami sandwich with pepper jack cheese delicious German mustard lettuce tomato and a special touch. I added chips and a drink. Great little shop! The gals are so friendly!

Most people who already know this place know it’s amazing so for those who have never been I highly recommend it! It is so much more than a deli shop. The staff are fantastically awesome and super friendly. This place is only for orders to go and can be extremely busy during peek lunch hours so be ready to wait. However its worth the wait! Especially their potatoe salad! Heaven in a bowl I tell ya! Now stop reading these reviews and go check it out!

These guys make a mean sandwich. It’s close to Harborview Medical Center and is a nice place to grab lunch. Note that this is a little deli.

Depending on the time of day, this little deli could be jam packed with more people squeezing in every minute or totally empty where the ladies behind the counter will quickly help you out. The sandwiches are fat, filled with a generous portion of one or any combination of meat plus whatever veggies /condiments(mayo, mustard) you want. I get mine with everything, but it gets messy and soggy pretty fast. The ingredients aren’t evenly distributed on the bread, so that means humongous meaty center, and not as meaty perimeter. Sandwiches aren’t made super quick like Jimmy john style, but it gives you time to browse their wide variety of condiments, noodles, snacks, and plenty of other goods you won’t find at a regular grocery store.

They slang a large sandwich for cheap that tastes great but I keep coming back for their fine pierogi plate.
