Dr. Garnett is a fantastic surgeon. I first met him when I was at Swedish for my first stay back in April. When I was first admitted on 4 – 13(Friday the 13th!), the doctors at Swedish thought I would need immediate surgery. I felt A LOT better the next day, so upon discussing things with Dr. Garnett on Saturday, we decided to put off surgery at the time. Fast forward a little more than a month later, and I found myself back in the hospital for the same reason, only the pain was a million times worse. I was in so much pain, I was delirious. I have no recollection of Dr. Garnett coming to see me on 5 – 22 and little recollection of speaking with him and the rest of the surgical staff on 5 – 23 before and after my surgery. But he was there, he was there for quite some time and he and Erik discussed things and they made the best decision for me. Dr. Garnett did a great job in taking out the bad stuff and sewing me back up. He checked in often with me during my stay at Swedish on First Hill and answered all of my questions easily and with confidence. He’s well respected at Swedish in Ballard and is often called upon for emergencies. After I got out of the hospital, I set up an appointment to see him a few days later. He checked everything out and advised me of the best way to care for my incision. Also, at one point, I was at home in the evening(it was about 8:30pm) and was running a fever. A fever is never good, but we had been told to call if this happened. Erik called the main office number and it was directed to an answering service. The lady took my info and Dr. Garnett called back right away. Talk about service! I had no problem at all making any of my follow-up appointments, and I had several. I also had no problem with calling and getting a refill on my pain pills. Dr. Garnett is very friendly and doesn’t beat around the bush. He’s blunt and to the point and is honest with his answers. I would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone.
