HORRIBLE! These guys scammed my elderly mom to pay $ 1,600 for REPAIR! All that was wrong was a broken cable. Three months later, the garage door wouldn’t shut all the way due to an install problem. A part actually fell off while operating it. The only recourse is to pay an additional $ 89 to get them to fix what they did wrong in the first place. I hired someone else! I always try to resolve with a company prior to writing a negative review. The rep offered to let me talk to the owner’s son but he wouldn’t pick up the phone. Whereas what they did was most probably legal, it’s a ripoff. I had a similar door installed for less than the repair job. Nobody who had another quote and associated warranty from a reputable garage door installer/​repair company would ever deal with these guys. They are only in business because too many people don’t read these reviews BEFORE calling. Thanks Unilocal

We were talked into buying their «full meal deal» and were told «you won’t have any problems for years.» Within months we had sticking and stopping of the door; a bang as the door closed. We called them back. They charged us another $ 100 for tightening the brackets (which should have been done right the first time).
Their customer service is very poor.
I would not recommend them to anyone.

If I could give a zero I would! SCAM! They installed our garage door and in 7 mo they have had to come out 5 times and each time we have had to pay 89.00 plus parts and labor. Stay away from this company they do not follow through with the warranty. We are extremely frustrated and will be reporting them.

Stay away! This feels like a scam. I received a coupon in the mail with several different offers. When the technician came to my house he looked at my garage door for less than 5 minutes and then said that the only fix was purchasing and installing a new motor. I didn’t want to install a new motor, and mentioned that another garage door service was able to work on the door and fix it in the past. I was told that my only option was to purchase and install a new motor and then he charged me a $ 89 service call fee, without doing any work on my door. I asked if we changed our mind and decided to install a new motor in the next week, would they credit the $ 89 service fee. His response, «No, the work has to be done now.» To add insult to injury, no work was done, but he spent the next 15 minutes in my garage trying to figure out how to get his IPad to run my credit card.

THESE GUYS ARE TERRIBLE– THE ABSOLUTE WORST! They didn’t do what they said they would, and once they have your money– good luck getting them to uphold their warranty.

Buyer Beware! From my experience today: This is a bad business that is not reputable. Nice young guy came out and told me that he as well as all of the field technicians are now independent agents for this company. The CSR on the phone in the call center in TX should have informed us of this — number one. We were told by the CSR that for a field technician to come out it would be about $ 50.00 or so but because we had our automatic garage door opener installed by them originally (back in 2006) they would give us discount so that it would only cost us $ 39.95. When the field technician came out he told me that we required to pay the service fee which was just for him to show up and that the work would be entirely extra. Mistake by the CSR number two: This was never explained to us over the the phone as it should have been before the technician even showed up to our home. When I told the technician that we would not agree to the high priced estimate to have the work done (which he could not tell us what needed to be fixed or not until we paid the $ 39.95 visit fee anyway) this wouldn’t help us – talk about a rip off!
Anyway, the technician called the CSR/​Dispatcher to explain my displeasure and that we had not agreed verbally or in writing to pay for the service visit fee. He them gave the phone to me and I spoke with the CSR/​Dispatcher from the call center in TX somewhere. This guy tried to intimidate me into paying the fee and tried to wheel and deal me into paying for the work etc) I was not intimated as I am an experienced CSR myself and I know how to deal with this kind of
un-​professionalism and discourtesy.
He played the call back for me with very poor sound fidelity saying that I could hear where we had agreed to the fee. I never heard this in the recording — saying that we agreed to anything. I told him this as well and that he kept interrupting so that I couldn’t even hear the playback of the call properly: mistake number three. I told him that he was giving me the worst customer service that I had encounter in a long time and that I wanted the call escalated to a supervisor which he would not do: mistake number four. I then asked if he was the business owner — he would not answer. Mistake number five. He was talking over me and being rude, not helpful and discourteous, to put it nicely. I told him that I would let my displeasure be know on the many consumer review sites like Unilocal etc… As well as contact my State Attorney General’s office – (the consumer fraud division) — which I will do. The CSR/​Dispatcher then proceeded to yell at me and told me to go ahead, he didn’t care. Well, the company’s owner should care because this cretin is gonna cost him or her their business! Anyway, the technician was a nice chap who tried to be helpful but the CSR/​Dispatcher lost the sale and a good customer: Mistake number six (big time!). I don’t blame the technician who, he told me, is leaving this crummy company and starting his own business. Good for him: I’ll do business with him but not these losers and nor should you! (Note: The technician told me that the call centers in TX and CA get nothing but complaints from customers calling in) Hey, Mr. or Ms. Business owner Wake Up!

WARNING! This operation is a joke & a scam. I am a real estate broker and had a client that needed a replacement remote for an odd brand of door opener. I called Seattle Overhead Door to see if they could provide a solution (apparently they are the same company as Garage Door Service Co.?). They said they could send out a person to program a generic remote. They said it was an $ 89.00 service call and the remote was $ 39.00. I called the client to check their schedule then called back. I saw an online coupon for a $ 29.00 service call. I mentioned this to the person and they quoted back to me that my client was receiving two remotes and he would honor the $ 29.00 coupon and made it sound like my total would be well under $ 100.00. When the person finally showed up at my client’s house at 6:30 p.m. the price of the remotes was $ 49.00 EACH, there was a $ 29.00 service call PLUS AN $ 89.00 PROGRAMMING fee that was news to me after two previous phone calls. My client was deeply frustrated so I went ahead and paid over $ 200 after «negotiating» down to $ 44.00 for each of the remotes with the used car salesman-​like technician.

Beware: The repairman OVER quoted me initially to repair broken garage door springs.
I was gathering estimates for said repair. Other quotes were ball-​parking at about $ 250. This repairman initially quoted me the same repair for about $ 350!
Of cause I balked at his offer. He immediately acted like one of those AGGRESSIVE, FAST-​TALKING stereotypical used cars salesmen that most people find distasteful.
«How much money do we need to agree on to make the repair right now?» he demanded to know. He insisted on «closing» the deal and wanted to make the repair right then and there.
I did not like this guy one bit.
