Gameworks is honestly much more underwhelming than what I remembered when I was a middle-schooler. They have a good selection of games and quite a bit of floor space though I am sad that their headline games have been removed. The reason this is a 2* review is, because I have experienced much better at Round 1 Arcade at Tukwila. Thought they don’t have a dedicated E-Sports area, every other aspect is above and beyond Gameworks and the E-Sports area is honestly a casual internet café. MANY of Gameworks’ games were out of service or damaged in crucial areas. If you want to play any rhythm games, be prepared for holes in the taiko drums, super loose buttons on beat games, and many more issues. Initial D and all the fighting games have super loose sticks and wheels. There just isn’t much that stands out about Gameworks because Round 1 has offered so much more and all the games function perfectly and look clean with on the spot technicians fixing any issues that pop up. I have NEVER seen anyone attempt to fix a machine at Gameworks and some have been out of order for over a month.

My son wanted to spend his birthday at gameworks and we got a great all day groupon so, why not? It has changed since I went there last which was 15 years ago. No more sky high ride/game which was a bummer. No more NASCAR line up on the wall game but they have replaced it with some other fun racing games. They have a lot of racing games here and some ticket games. The ticket games are actually pretty good and the prizes are not insanely expensive which is nice. Food, can’t speak for it since we went in on a week day and there were maybe 4 other people in there. The only bartender didn’t even come over at all so we left for Johnny Rocket’s down the street. Staff The guy that was working the counter when we got there was a tool. You could tell he was just going through the motions and had said his spiel at least a million times. I get it dude, I do it too but maybe a little less tude. There were not too many«broken games» which was nice and the kid had fun. I am not sure this is an all day place though.

Gameworks. They have games, booze, and snacks. Fun for a good time with a group of friends. Service is ok usually, though at times slow and scattered. Staff is usually decently friendly, but judging from some of the interactions with patrons I’ve seen I wouldn’t blame them for being a little fried. Great for happy hour, avoid at peak times unless that’s the only time you’re in town. Glad to have a spot for games close to home, especially with a bar!

Game works is a disappointing place to be at at 11pm. The staff look like they hate their job and reiterate every 5 – 10 mins that they’re closing at 1am. It’s a terrible environment to be in. There’s a groupon for $ 20 for all day game pass, which would make this place only somewhat worth it.

Old. Shabby. Games in disrepair. Dirty. TERRIBLE service. Such a waste of space in downtown Seattle.

Food took forever(25 min for a chicken Caesar and a chicken Caesar wrap). However, the food tasted ok, and they comped us for the meal and gave us cards for an hour of play.

This is probably the worst gameworks I’ve ever been in Not only is layout confusing, the employees must be hard of hearing an have poor eyesight. I arrived at 10pm and waited in the«restaurant» area. The waitress made eye contact with me a total of 5 times. She dismissed me when I tried to ask her if I needed to wait to be seated or sit myself down. There was a total of 8 people scattered throughout the floor at tables. I felt like an idiot just standing there alone
I don’t know what her deal was, but if I were her manager I’d have sent her packing a long time ago. No one greeted me. This place is a disgrace to customer service and the workers there need to be sat down and retrained.

Unless the only games you want to play are driving or shooting games it’s not worth it. There is not enough variety of games there. There are a few older arcade games like Pacman or a couple of fighting games. But for a place as big as Gameworks they have more than plenty of space to get rid of some of the old overly populated games and bring in a decent amount of different ones. We literally bought an all day pass. And we’re there for 3 hours before getting bored of what they had to offer. Also we got hungry and decided to split a app sampler in the bar. Needless to say the food was not great. And not that I expect amazing food from a big arcade. But for the sampler and 1 beer it was $ 30! That’s two meals somewhere else! We probably won’t be coming back anytime soon. Just not a lot of value in spending any money there!

Awesome place to go play some games and drink some beers. They have most arcade games including Quick Draw. They also have a complete PC gaming room and offer reasonably priced games. The food and Happy Hour are great and worth checking out. This is my go-to for after work drinks as the games help me forget about being an adult even if for only a few minutes. Iff you consider yourself a gamer, and like to drink while gaming, I highly recommend checking out Gameworks.

This arcade is pretty one dimensional. The entire first floor is basically all racing games and a couple of other games where you can earn tickets, but as with any other arcade, it’s pretty much impossible to get enough tickets to redeem anything«cool». The second floor is also filled with the same games — all shooting games. Other than the special games like DDR, skeeball, claw machines and stuff like that, this place will get boring pretty quickly.

DONOTWASTEYOURTIME. SOOUTDATED, DIRTY, ANDGROSS. My boyfriend and I were in Seattle for a week. We had went here because it was close to our hotel, and thought it would be fun– like a Dave & Busters. We went there at about 730pm, and purchased the 3 hrs unlimited game cards for $ 22/each. Not bad. It was a Wednesday night, so there were only a handful of other people in the place. We walked around a little, and played one or two games before eating. The menu at the restaurant looked decent; standard food. Burgers, nachos, wings, etc. We got the deep fried mac & cheese, I had the BBQ Chicken Sandwich and my boyfriend got the Philly CheeseSteak and asked for fried onions on it. We were expecting the mac & cheese balls to be basically macaroni and oozey cheese. NOPE. It was basically macaroni salad fried in a ball. They weren’t hot, there was NO cheese, and had some salami in it or something. Not good. As for our main dishes, after our first bites we looked at each other and thought WTF. There was NOFLAVOR at all in either of our dishes. Like, none whatsoever. And the Philly didn’t have the onions on it. And the fries? They tasted like instant potatoes covered in salt and freezer burn(except instant potatoes have more flavor than these). We couldn’t even finish half of our dishes. When we were waiting for the bill, my boyfriend spotted a mouse near the door way to the kitchen area. I couldn’t believe it. When the waiter came over, my boyfriend said«Hey uhh… you know you have mice in here?» The waiter responded«Oh hahahahaha yeah man you saw one? I know. We had the exterminator here a couple times but I don’t know. There’s a couple of em we see running around here.» Our mouths literally DROPPED. We regrettably paid $ 65 for the crappy food and went to play some video games. All of the arcade games are SO old and outdated. Literally they are probably all from the mid 90s/early 00s. A handful of them didn’t even work. and the ones that did were pretty unbearable. I can’t believe we wasted over $ 100 at this place. We should have really just walked out without paying for the poor excuse of the food and took an L on the $ 44 for the 3 hours of games. If we realized how terrible the games were, we probably would have.

I love this place. The vibe is wonderful and it’s cool how you can order your food/drinks and still be able to play games. The best part is the top floor has a computer gaming room. I was so excited I got to play LOL on my vacation. The service were all friendly. I won a domo pig there. Really fun place to hang out with friends or just to meet new people.

Underwhelming at best. My SO and I had purchased groupons for Gameworks and had not gone out in a few weeks so we were ready to drink, eat, and game! When you walk in, the bar is on the left with tables and booths for you to eat and drink there. The kitchen is upstairs and you can eat up there, normally, but they had it closed for the 3 hours we were there for a ‘special engagement’. The waitresses ended up having to walk up and down the flight of stairs with trays of food for everyone eating, making the food take longer than usual to come out. We ordered two personal flatbreads off of the happy hour menu as well as a brisket cheesy tater tot dish and spinach artichoke dip. The spinach artichoke dip was the only thing I enjoyed besides the tater tots and even the tater tots weren’t that good! Because I don’t eat meat, I asked for the meat on the side. When it came out, the cheese was under the tots and it was clear that this wasn’t very fresh. I didn’t care because I knew that even if we talked to our waitress about it, the replacement tots would be the same. The flatbreads, both, were terrible. Really. Dry, flavorless, just not good! My boyfriend said that this was the worst flatbread he’s ever had. I mean, I don’t expect amazing food from Gameworks, but something palatable for $ 5 would be nice. Thank goodness for happy hour pricing or I would really be pissed about wasting my money. I would rather have 3 delicious bites for $ 5 than a bigger flatbread that tastes like pure flour. Last but not least, our server, along with all of the other servers that I saw, were fckng grimacing like we had personally punched their little sisters in the face. What in the hell did we do to make you refuse to smile? I understand people have bad days and I see that, I respect that. But when I am trying to joke around, lighten the mood, shoot you a smile, and you’re still scowling like the restaurant has played Lady Gaga’s «Poker Face» on repeat for the last 2 years… Man, gtfo! Get a different job. You’re a business that overcharges for bad food and have waiters that don’t know how to sell customers that crap. I guess there are people out there that enjoy bad service but they normally go into the experience expecting that I, however, did not expect to be treated like an unwelcome guest and I don’t pay for that! So, Gameworks, eff of. Your games were lame, like any average arcade, your employees don’t give a sht and neither do I. Buh bye.

I assume the only reason this place stays in business is due to location. I keep coming back yet always leave wondering why. 1. Draft beer poured in a plastic cup was $ 7.33 2. Make sure you special order silverware or bring your own. 3. If there are more than 2 people sitting at the bar, allow for longer time to get service from the 2 bartenders. 4. They may want to invest in receiving cable or digital signal as the lack of reception looked like their rabbit ears were out of tune. Other than that, I always enjoy the diluted cheese whiz sauce on my nachos. See ya next year Game Works as I doubt I will remember why I wrote this.

SOWORTHIT if you go on Thursday after 5 for the $ 10 unlimited deal. My only experience with Gameworks is the one in Las Vegas. The one there isn’t the best and is usually filled with kids. I don’t think they have an unlimited deal like this one does but I haven’t been there for years so I can’t say for sure. It was pretty empty on the day we went which we enjoyed. We didn’t have to wait in any lines to try out the games. There were a LOT of games and sometimes multiple machines of the same game. There were some games that were out of order, but it didn’t affect our moods. I think because there wasn’t a lot of people, we didn’t get hot — until we played DDR of course. We also got Shocktop from the bar and luckily on happy hour so the drinks were only $ 3 each. Some games have cup holders but for the most part most of the games have small tables nearby to put your drinks down. We didn’t get any food as we were saving our stomachs for sushi. I don’t think I would ever order food here though because the reviews here speak poorly of the food. My only complaint was that the staff were kind of short with us. The staff told us that ticketed games don’t work for the unlimited deal but we were still able to play skeeball and tickets came out? Maybe a glitch in the system. We just left the tickets on the machine because we didn’t care to get prizes or anything. We had such a blast here. I think we got our money and entertainment’s worth on the cheap. If you have $ 10 to spare and you happen to be free on Thursday, come here!

Service is slow no matter where you go: restaurant, ticket redemption, customer service. I am disappointed with our visit. Many machines were out of order or just took your tokens without giving tickets earned. When I went to the customer service desk to let them know, the employee had an attitude, rolling her eyes, no smile whatsoever and was not very communicative. I stood there for a long time and no type of update of whether someone was coming to see about my concern. It seems they are understaffed. I don’t think I will come back here anytime soon.

This place was a shit show. We arrived and stopped at the bar where we received quick service. We bought the $ 37 dollar +$ 2 for a «card activation fee.» This had 140 – 180 points(can’t recall) on the card. Some games were as much as 25 points and most no lower than 5 points. Wish I could play the games we intended but they allow people to camp out on games FOREVER so that you don’t even get a chance. It wouldn’t be half bad if the games we did play actually lasted longer than 1 minute. Most machines didn’t spit out tickets and we probably lost 40+ alone on the machine scanning our points but the game not playing. There were so many machines down, too. You could only load your card at a couple stands(one of which was down) or the cashier. GameWorks…stop trying to be Dave and Busters. It isn’t working.

I don’t understand how anyone stays in here for more than an hour. It was so hot and uncomfortable. It almost seemed like a hazard. We paid $ 18 for 2 of the weakest Moscow Mules I’ve ever had. Could not taste any alcohol and I watched them make them– bottom shelf vodka. I guess that’s what you get from the bar inside Gameworks but geez. And not a smile to be seen from any bartender. Bathrooms are upstairs and require a code to get in. Bathrooms could use some upkeep. I could see it being fun here for kids and we did have a good time– for about an hour. Sweating the whole time and wondering how people stay longer.

I used to go here frequent before I found Round 1, but it’s still nice to have an excuse to visit Downtown Seattle once every while. I usually only make my way here on Thursday nights when they have their unlimited game play for $ 10, it’s $ 2 extra if you need a card to get started with or lost your card which ugh is always my case. Gameworks is pretty huge with 2 floors of games and a bar area where you can order drinks and food. I think you can also walk around with a drink in your hand. The $ 10 unlimited play doesn’t work on ticketed games though, but it makes sense. Ain’t nobody going to give you unlimited free tickets to win prizes right? There’s quite a variety with games here; shooting, fighting, air hockey, DDR(dance dance revolution), etc. Tell me about your experience if you’ve been here or is going to after reading this review:)

The menu at the Gameworks restaurant has changed for the better. Their sections are a lot more mature and pro-foodie. It is a decent spot to chill and relax with friends or to wait for your kids as they play in the game room. The beer selection is very good and reasonably priced. I highly recommend you give it a try, it won’t disappoint.

D&B who?! Gameworks is sooooo much better — and bonus, most of the games actually work. Yup, you heard it! This two story extra large locale, right in the heart of downtown Seattle, offers something a little bit different to do, particularly if you’re a local or are visiting for an extended stay. The ONLY time to go in my opinion is on Thursday between 5pm-close, when Game Cards are ONLY10 bucks for all you can play video games(doesn’t inc. ticket or token games). Oh, what luck that we just happened to visit on a Thursday and found this amazeballs deal = otherwise buying points can be rather expensive and the $ spent adds up quickly(can easily drop $ 50 p/p). Hubster and I went through all of the series of the Zombie 3DFPS — cool! GWs has many other cool games from OG Cruis’n USA car racing to an almost life-size Operation board(that is impossible to «operate» on). Neato. And, it is 18(why not 21?) and over after 10pm so no screaming kiddos to compete with. Lol. ;) They have a full bar and offer food(didn’t eat). The drinks are average price($ 5.25 for Coors Light, $ 6 for Absolut and cranberry), but… the bar service is definitely lacking in quality. The«tenders» seem more interesting in standing at the end of the bar chatting with other employees and regular patrons than serving peeps(like me) at the other end… so the long-ish wait can be a bit irritating. I wanna play! Wah!!! «Can Johnny can out and join me?» Note: You have to get a code for the bathroom — keeps loiters out. [152 in 2015]

Popped in here with some coworkers on a Thursday night during a business trip in Seattle. Walked the floor, checked out the games and then settled down at a table by the bar. Waited and waited and waited. A group of servers stood next to the bar(4 of them) talking with each other, horsing around and at one point a server squirted another server with the hose drink dispenser. This pretty much kept up the whole night, meanwhile customers were ignored. Just when we were about to leave, DJ whirled in and saved the day! He really hustled and seemed to be taking care of EVERYONE’s tables while the staff just joked around with each other. He was really friendly despite the heavy load of trying to take care of everyone. DJ = 5 stars Gameworks = 2 Gameworks definitely has the potential for awesomeness, but more people than DJ need to give a damn.

This place reminds me of the old Playdium, that used to exist in Canada. There are lots of entertaining games. But I personally think its quite expensive. The place is spacious and quite clean. Not sure if its because I am coming here really late at night, its actually not that busy. I am not into playing the games where you win tokens and redeem the token for prizes. But they do have a few of those kind of token games but not a lot. In terms of just fun interactive games they have quite a few. They have the classic shooting hoops to shoot games to racing etc. This would be a great youngster hangout place especially they open late. As well, they are located in a pretty hot downtown location.
