Fantastic. Rivals anything I’ve had in France. Lovely place, worth the walk. Had the crunchy crème, fraise, chocolate croissant and beef curry(sounds strange but very yummy).

Really tasty! The quiche was a little loose; the rest of the pastries were delicious!

I gave three stars this time because the guy who worked here this morning had attitude and not very good on customer service. The pastry still very good.

I am just walking out of this bakery feeling mistreated. I am biting into the Beef Curry donut I just got. It tastes pretty good and the beef filling seems perfectly seasoned. Quite tasty; however, I will not go back to this bakery as they do not know how to treat customer and how to handle the busy store when there were only 6 customers in the store. The guy who makes coffee and handling cash today(May 11, 2016) is snappy and cranky at the best. It seems like he cannot handle stress very well. I asked one question, «where do we order?» because their setting is a bit confusing and no clear line up. He crankily yelled at me saying, «There is a lineup, all right? Just wait, I will call you!» I was like what the??? First of all, there was no physical line up. What he meant was there are people who came before me and supposedly I should know to just wander around and hang out aimlessly among these tall five guys? They were standing awkwardly here and there randomly in the store too. I orders from my group and was supposed to get 6 different types of donuts but I only got one and will get other food from somewhere else. Oh and funny thing is he was SUPERNICE to other guys.

Absolutely amazing custard bun. Light, airy, delicate, not too sweet. I’m just sad that I didn’t get there before they sold out of the crunchy custard bun…

Nothing against Chinese bakeries but sometimes I just don’t want traditional Chinese bakery items and want Japanese, Korean or Taiwanese bakery items(i.e. Paris Baguette, 85 Degrees Bakery)! Those type of bakeries are definitely hard to find in the Seattle area but randomly stumbled upon this Japanese bakery and instantly fell in love with their huge selection of bakery goods! I’ve only been here once and only had the strawberry fraise and it tasted super good! I’ll definitely want to come back to try out their other pastries!

Take your time when ordering a delicious bakery tasty treat. I rushed and ordered the Strawberry cake. It did not disappoint, but As I was eating it and drinking my Coffee I noticed more items that looked so much more tastier. They staff are friendly and its a intimate setting you get to know your neighbor rather quickly but it makes for interesting conversation.

I was looking forward to trying their matcha pastries, but sadly they ran out of almost everything by the time I got there(around 3:30pm). I managed to try the green tea macarons, which turned out to be great! Not too sweet, not too dry. Definitely recommend it.

I think I came at a bad time since it was nearly closing and so lot of the stuff sold out other than half of these macarons. I am very picky with my macarons since my first ones were in NYC so i was like welp, here goes nothing. Tried some before going to Fort St George and surprisingly they werent bad! Definitely more flavorful than the ones in Bakery Nouveau and Le Panier but I think I like the ones from Metropolitan Market the best from the ones in Seattle! Will come back next time to try what they’re better known for! Who knows I may change my mind? Teeheehee

There’s no Japanese bakery in Portland(that I’m aware of aside from farmers market Mio’s Delectable) but I’ve missed the savory and cheesecake kind. Here I got the Zen(green tea moose), Printemps(berry baked cream cheese cake), last of Mont Blanc(chestnut paste meringue) for sweets. Then crunchy cream(custard with corn flakes), azuki donut, and apple croissant like item for savory. Everything is reasonable price from $ 2.50– $ 4.50 so very reasonable! Drinks are matcha latte, hojicha latte, and drip espresso. My friend drove us around so these are for three people, and two sweets are gifts so I didn’t eat everything(laughs) The savory was moist and not too sweet. I loved each bite that melted in my mouth, and green tea latte had hint of bitterness which complimented well. My dessert is Printemps which I shared with my friend. It’s so pretty I could not resist to get one! We stayed chatting for two hours as we were both tired from the travel and finding parking. But we also wanted go to Uwajimaya so parking worked out fine, and it’s near Greyhound so perfect place to rest up before heading back to Portland. Will come back again for custard pastries.

There was nothing wrong with our pastries, they just weren’t that great. We chose the custard-filled and red bean-filled pastries. Both were beautiful, but neither had the YUM factor we were looking for.

Really lovely bakery, especially love their bacon cheese twisty thingy. Macaroons are good but small – might be the only place to get a real curry bun in town. HOWEVER – hours are not until 6:00, only until 5 most days, 4 on Sundays or until they decide they are closing the doors. Your best chance at a tasty pastry is going in the morning or early/afternoon.

I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop in and pick up something for later. This is a small shop with a few seats and a small area to eat by the windows in the front by the door and the side. The two young women in there were very polite and helpful. I found a nice Green Tea Matcha roll which was really good! They also had an Azuki as well as a Green Tea with melon. Their Panatonne is amazing and has a nice taste to it too! They had some savory items such as Pesto Bacon, Mustard Bacon and Beef Curry and Olive Sticks. I cannot wait to come back here and try some more of their baked goods!

«Boutique bakery/café with a touch of class.» Chinatown is a well-known haven for baked goods, sweet pastries, and savory buns. There is one place that has successfully stood out among the packs of traditional bakeries. Fuji bakery is strategically located across from the old Uwajimaya building. The outside is simply decorated and the interior layout is reminiscent of a small French style bakery. I was immediately greeted upon entering by an attendant. The main case display contains intricately decorated pastries and quickly deciding on a selection was challenging. There were croissants, panettone, donuts, etc. The bakery also serves espresso and cappuccino. I opted for the azuki donuts. The dough was light and fried to perfection. The red bean filling was not too sweet and the texture was an excellent match to the light dough. Between the convenient location, friendly staff, and pastry selection, this place definitely leaves a sweet impression. I’ll be returning to try out the other pastries.

I stopped by while in Chinatown and ordered a couple pastries to-go. I chose the matcha green tea pastry, chocolate raspberry croissant, azuki red bean pastry, and the pear pastry. They all need to be warmed up, or they will not be good. All of them were too hard to eat, especially the matcha green tea, which was the least enjoyable. The croissant was good, but could have been better if warmed up. I would only buy the pastries if I have a microwave or toaster to heat them up.

We stumbled upon this place on Sunday and we were pleasantly surprised. It’s quite small inside. They have a nice selection of sweet and savory pastries. Our favorites were the Panettone and Fraise. The Bacon Epi seemed over baked, it was hard. Can’t wait to come back and try some of their other goodies!

Despite the fact that it is in Chinatown(and their Japanese name). The way they design their little space café and decorate their pastries I couldn’t tell if it is French bakery or Asian. As I heard from a friend, this place is the cleanest business around there which checked by food restaurant security! I had also try their original place in Bellevue but seem like in Chinatown, they look more fresh and well decorated. Tip: should try their curry beef ball, strawberry tart, and especially their coffee so so good!

I absolutely ADORE fuji bakery. The people who work the are always charming and willing to help. I’m a bit indecisive but all the times I’ve been there I have received excellent customer service and the employees will give you their honest opinion. I’ve only tried a handful of pastries– mainly the ones that aren’t in the fridge(but they’ve all been delicious!). Macaroons are a little pricy, $ 2 for a tiny one. So I probably won’t be buying those anytime soon. However everything else is definitely worth a try. The salmon brioche is a must: creamy salmon filling baked into beautifully baked bread. Try the milk sticks; they’re SOGOOD. Try to come early as things sell out fast!

I’m really glad that they are now open on Sundays. I have tried quite a few items here and most things are just OK. The matcha melon pan is a bit dry. The macarons are more crunchy than chewy and the green tea mousse cake is pretty flavorless. The salmon brioche is not bad and I like their azuki bun. I also really like their matcha and hojicha lattes. Their crunchy cream donut is really, really good and so is the beef curry.
