The foods pretty tasty and the coffee’s not bad. Don’t be surprised if they burn the first attempt at your sandwich or attempt to argue with you when they bring out a wrong order.

The pastries are delicious, the coffee is wonderful and the service is great. I’ll definitely be going back. Plus, their prices are really fair. It’s kid friendly too, which makes it an instant favorite.

Awesome place when I visited Seattle for the first time. The price was cheap and the place was quite. And it’s just a few steps away from the Woodland Park Zoo so that’s a plus for me. Definitely would visit this place next time I’m in Seattle!

Went here the other day. Conveniently located next to the bus stop where it comes every 15 minutes! Anyways, cute little place with really nice baristas. I had the green tea latte, green tea muffin with azuki beans which was amazing, and took home some macarons. Great selection of pastries and high quality drinks. Awesome place to study or chill. Will definitely be back soon.

I just stopped by here the first time today, and I loved their latte. All their baked goods looked delicious, but I only tried their green tea muffin. It’s a quiet-ish place conducive for studying but it also has a warm and pleasant vibe. The perfect balance of non-hipster yet still quaint enough to feel welcome.

This is my go to café in the phinney area. I first discovered this café in college — started as a place to get coffee with a date outside of the U district and soon became a study spot. Street parking is plentiful and free. Nice, quiet and charming ambience. Friendly staff and dog friendly :) Excellent pastries! I love their azuki bean green tea muffin. Their pastries have a Japanese-French fusion. Good coffee(they also sell bags of stumptown coffee) and very good place to grab a tea(ask for the tea list) with a light lunch! This neighborhood is very walkable and quiet. Also near the woodland park zoo!

I recently met a friend here for a coffee date and I fell in love with their charm. Cozy inside with tasty coffee/tea drinks and beautifully made Japanese-and-French inspired pastries. My soy vanilla latte was nicely made, not cloyingly sweet. The Swiss and bacon quiche was good, albeit a little small for the price. The savoury croissant with caramelized onions and Swiss though? Whew! Excellent stuff. I bought an almond chocolate croissant for my MIL who raved about it. Next time I visit, I’ll pick up an assortment of those beautiful macarons and a green tea latte for my husband who loves those. The barista behind the counter was super-friendly and so was the cashier. Tables were a little neglected though and could have done with a wipe-down. Parking is limited to street only. Directly in front of the café, it’s a bus stop. Because of its proximity to the zoo, there isn’t a lot of parking when the weather is nice.

If you, like me, enjoy your mouth being tantalized by flavors so rich and indulgent that you’ll consider emptying your bank account in order to have another fork full of deliciousness. Moist Basque cakes make you wonder, who are the Basques and why is their cake so mysterious and satisfying. Maybe you’re a croissant person? Buy a bag full because you’ll want more after you’ve left and this place sells out fast. Do your mouth a favor and rush to savor the flavor of Fresh Flours!

Another great coffee joint in Seattle!(: Lots of space for those who want to study or catch up with friends. I ordered the earl grey tea latte with vanilla(aka London Fog) and it was amazing! The barista is quick and super kind.

Its not a surprise that this cute French bakery with some Japanese touches and inspired goodies is owned by Japanese people. I ordered their ham and cheese crosissant and it was very very good. I would consider myself a bit of an expert on French pastries as I worked in the first French bakery in Seattle in the 80s and made authentic french baked goods and breads there. I also travel regularly to Paris and have lived there. I am a foodie that loves pastries and croissants as well as traveling often to Japan where they do have French bakeries with great flair and they do it well. Would I consider the ham and cheese croissant as authentic as a French bakeries in Paris, no but it was still very good had creamy cheese and cheddar type cheese mixed in with the ham and it was almost as good as the real thing so that’s giving a high complement. It would have been excellent heated up the croissantto make it even more flaky and crunchy and I was eager to try the other pastries. Unfortunately they were out of their onion croissant and their quiches which I would’ve tried to be nice if they sold little small salads to go with their pastries. I will definitely be back if in the area.

I haven’t had a bad pastry from this spot. I’d recommend the Basque Cakes. The quiche are phenomenal — great flavors and really filling. The chai wasn’t anything special(not much flavor) but the green tea latte was legit.

Coffee here is weak. Last time I queried as to how many shots were in a 12 oz. drink. The answer was two. So much better coffee in the neighborhood.

After a friend introduced me to Fresh Flours in Ballard a few weeks back, I’ve wanted to try this one and I’m glad I finally did. Similar menu, same great coffee, and fantastic bakery items just like Ballard, but with more space, more sun, and it never feels as packed. The drip coffee is wonderful, and any of the pastries will work well, but this time I went for the goat cheese and tomato croissant, which was absolutely delectable. The only downside to a coffee shop this good: while the drip is great, there’s no French press option…

New bakery and coffee shop on Beacon Hill. They have two other locations. This weekend was their soft opening and thus far we gave enjoyed their Stumptown espresso and all but two of their macaroon flavors. Best so far? Yuzu, no question. The location has lots of windows some indoor seating and hopefully outdoor too. I’ll update as we eat our way through the offerings. Off to a great start and glad to have them in neighborhood!

So quaint. So open. Lots of open seating with natural lighting facing the passersby on Phinney Ridge’s main stretch. If you like ‘cute’ goodies, this is the place to be. While I was a bit disappointed by their Earl grey macaron that tasted like it was filled with straight up butter, the pot of tea was happily provided by attentive baristas. Free wi-fi. Fre bathroom use. Great place to crack open your laptop and work /study. Families and 20 something hipsters. My kind of place.

I come here for two things: the green tea latte and pear Danish. I can’t get enough of either. In fact I was reluctant to mention the pear Danish here on Unilocal because I didn’t want people buying it all out before me, which already happened enough times! It’s better than any other pear Danish I’ve had anywhere else. The green tea latte is a must here and highly recommended. Also a good thing to note is that at 4:00, all pastries are half off!

Let’s start by talking about one of my fav things: matcha. Matcha green tea latte, matcha macaron, matcha pound cake, matcha cookies. Love it. I started out with the green tea macaron, which was light and texture was good, but not one of the best I’ve ever had. I also ordered a green tea latte, which was creamy and not too sweet. but I would have preferred the drink completely unsweetened, however, the matcha comes from a sweetened premade blend. Not matcha, I ordered the twice baked almost croissant. This was delicious, and if it was heated up, it would be even more amazing. I’ll have to ask and see if they do that next time. This is also a great place to study. They have the main café area, where you order, but there’s also a side room, that’s nice a quiet, with plenty of tables and chairs. Overall, I really enjoyed Fresh Flours and plan to be back soon to try all things matcha(+ another twice baked almond croissant)!

I came specifically to try out the special Japanese pastries. Felt there was more azuki than matcha items but both good
