The Fitzgerald, a Flatiron Properties building, is located on a quiet residential street in Upper Queen Anne. I would give it four stars for location. Trader Joe’s is barely a half-block away, and the building is located near all the convenient things on Upper QA: bus stops, the library, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Kerry Park is about 3 blocks away. The building itself is a little shabby, but not too scruffy. The laundry room, hallways, and the storage area were kept clean, and maintenance of the common areas was fairly timely. The only bad thing I can say about it is that rent and other fees are far above market price for what the apartments are actually worth. When we lived there, the small one bedrooms went for $ 1150 per month– and they were so small that they had no closets. The laundry($ 1.50 per wash, $ 1.50 per dry) was more expensive than anywhere else I have seen in Queen Anne. Parking & storage were expensive too, although I convinced them to give us a free storage space since our apartments had no closets. So, basically our apartment was cozy/tiny, in an ok building in a great location, but it cost waaaaay too much for what it was. And, as of yesterday we have moved to a bigger, nicer place, for $ 300 less a month, with not one but FOUR closets! And if you’re looking here, I bet you could probably do better, too.
