Friendly barbers, very high quality work. Both my sons get excellent cuts — better than any salon and less expensive. One son has thick, straight hair; the other has tight curls. Not all barbers do straight hair. Ask for Jason, if you need one. You can call ahead for an appt. or walk-in.

This is the worse barbershop ever! It’s listed as open at 7 am to 7 pm, I tried to take my son last week to get his hair cut and no one was there at 7 am. I left and came back around 8:30 still no one was there. How do you have a business and it states the times you are open but actually NOONE is there? I’ve lived all over this country and never experienced such unprofessionalism in a black owned business, thus is my hometown and theses black men can’t seem to get it together. No wonder they are taking over the CENTRALDISTRICT!

They scheduled a 8:30am appointment and no one showed. I called and no one answered, I ended up waiting 45 minutes and no one answered. I now have to stay late at work and I have no haircut to show for it. Horrible Service.

We like this place — they are friendly and efficient and very good with my 2.5 year old son … not over the top on the kid stuff(though they do give him a cushion so he sits high enough and have a kid friendly cover), but, they know how to cut hair and they make him feel both safe and important. We get compliments on his cut all the time. Affordable quality, I recommend it.

I went here once before I got my hair cut and it was coo but I went last week with my wife and kids the first problem I had was there was people not even getting a hair cut taking the seats one lady act like she didnt want to move her purse so my kids can sit down second I’m business minded so when you enter a business you should greet some one when they walk in which they didnt and only looked at me like I didnt belong and then the business says walk ins to but told me to come back tomorrow. I just feel they are hella rude and i wont beback back

We have only been here twice and we drive from Bellevue, we only let Chris cut our kids hair. We have not been disappointed if you are looking for someone to serve you tea and crumpets go somewhere else this is simply what it is A BARBERSHOP! The cut for our little guy was $ 15 which to some may be too much but all honestly is what you will pay here in Bellevue or other Tacoma/Seattle locations. Chris is good about giving you his number to call for an appointment or check if it is a long wait. This place is not fancy, not catering just a shop to come in get your cut, line up and be out. My older boys prefer Standing on Top in Bellevue which is a much«classier» ambience but we like to bring our younger boys to earls as they have been the only ones to not mess their hair up. I don’t mind it’s location and think Earl is a nice guy. Nothing exciting but gets the job done.

Where do I even begin with this place. I grew up in the central District of Seattle so I was fimiliar with seeing Earls name in the facts(local paper), I’ve also heard horror stories from time to time about this place, but yet I still decided to give them a try. I currently reside in Bothell, WA kind of a drive to the CD so when I called several days ahead of time to make an appt I expected just that, what I recieved was completely different. :(i brought my son 2yrs of age and my husband for a hair cut and a razor line up i was very specific over the phone that my husband only prefers the razor and his exact words were«I got you no problem«, however we get there there is only one barber by the name of Black who was al by himself with about 6 clients waiting in line, I advised him we have a 10 am appt he said so do they its gonig to be an hour. I then asked where was Earl he said that he never showed and he doesnt have a phone to call him on. I was appauled, we proceeded to wait, and wait and wait, an 1 ½ later we were next. So my son started to cry during his haircut and would not sit still we had to hold his head just to get it cut which is normal for us nothing new, however for«Black» it was fairly new he butchered my sons hair and tried to blame it on me wanting an intricate hair cut of just a fohawk long on top short on the sides. In the end he made it look presentable but it was a process. So my husband was next I told him he only likes the straight razors clippers dont really work on his line, he said I dont do razors sorry. At this point I was so pissed off all I could do was slam down $ 10.00 for my sons haircut and walk out. I am very disappointed in how we were treated it was very unprofessional and typical of an African American shop when i told him i chose to come here because of the Unilocal reviews he proceeded to tell me, «im not even going to lie to you thats all family praising us on there». I looked at him with disgust. Earls will never go anywhere running his business like that he will remain a typical«black» hair shop. they will never ever ever get my business again. :(

Best cut since I’ve been in the Seattle area. Quick, prompt, and professional service. In and out in about 30 minutes. 20 bucks out the door.

My hubby clearly loves his haircut from Earl’s. In the past few days since the cut, he’s been arbitrarily commenting about Earl’s: «You know, I really like that place…» or «I’m glad I found Earl’s» or he’ll run his hand over his head, «They really did do a good job…» Earl’s certainly left a very positive impression, one I didn’t hear after other shops, even places like Weldon. And that kind of lasting satisfaction is definitely ‘as good as it gets.’ I’m disappointed at the earlier review’s fallacious attribution of an imperfect haircut to race. Oh, the power of an illusion…

Great hair cut and great atmosphere.\ Drove up to Seattle from Portland to visit a friend for the weekend and needed a hair cut real bad, found Earl on Google and gave him a call… he was very nice and professional and scheduled me right away to come in for a quick buzz. Ill recommend the place to anybody that wants a good hair cut in the Seattle area. Tony

Don’t go if you have hair longer than ¼″ on any part of your head. Also don’t go if you want scissors used on your head. Haircut wasn’t bad other than being extremely short compared to how I normally have it. However I’m white and this is a black barber shop, so they probably don’t have a lot of experience cutting hair like mine.

Walk-in, $ 20, was in and out, and they did a great job. I wasn’t in the mood for chit chat(generally not when I am getting my hairs did) but they were friendly. I’m certain they would chat it up if you’re that type of person. A bit spendy for a simple trim, but the precision and efficiency of the barber was totally worth it. It is also conveniently located next to a liquor store.
