Frustrated by my first experience with DSI. Was told a technician would be at my place between 9−10am Today. Technician showed up at 11;15, with his dog. No, your dog cannot come in my place. Is this standard practice? My building is pre-wired for Direct TV and I was quoted 20 minutes for install. It took over an hour for the technician to set TV up on two TVs. The technician went to «check on his dog» down in the truck and came back 30 minutes later, visibly frustrated by something. Anyway, the TV is set up and working now, but I looked at the invoice and it says two HD receivers, I was told on the phone I would be getting to HDDVR receivers I’m assuming now this means DSI will have to come back out, interrupt my work week, and swap the receivers? I’m giving DSI two stars because I have to give at least one, and the TV is working, so that’s something. I’m sure that I’am paying for two HDDVR’s so I’m expecting those be swapped in very quickly and I’ll be paying a prorated balance. Not a great start DSI… Editing my review, the frustration is on going and my problems are still not resolved. I noticed some of the channels we got were not working, I called Direct TV and they were able to fix that. I then spoke with Scott from DSI and he assured me he would take care of our issues. They have not been resolved and now I’m being told I need to pay to have the receivers switched even though it was their mistake? That’s not going to happen. Scott seems like a nice guy, and maybe the people who work for him are totally incompetent, but this is getting a little ridiculous. There is no way it is possibly as difficult as they are making things.

I’ve lived all over the country and this is the best TV set-up service I’ve had. I recently moved into a new apartment building where the cable had been damaged during construction. This was totally out of DSI’s control. Nonetheless, Jay Gordon, the owner, and his associate stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to personally diagnose the situation. When the problem was finally solved, Jay came back to set up my DIRECTV. DSI showed responsibility and attention to detail where my apartment simply did not. Their customer service is outstanding, and so is my DIRECTV! I highly recommend.
