Saw doc Driscoll because of an unexplained loss of appetite & weight loss. In the past 10 years I’ve used Dr. Driscoll for gastro check ups & in every case he has been outstanding. Personally I’d rather have an excellent doctor who honestly gives his opinion, than one who has a bedside manner & agrees with everything I’ve heard or read about doing my own research. During this visit he found two ulcers formed in my esophagus & stomach and a nodule in my lung. Once he found out of my repetited use of a popular aspirin/acetomenephin pill for headaches, Exced, he straight forward looked me in the eye & said STOP taking them. No bedside manners. .. just the truth about my condition. That is what I pay him for. Both he & I are grumpy old men. Deal with it.

Was referred to Dr. Driscoll by my primary physician at Swedish West Seattle. As requested i arrived at my appt 15 minutes early. Small waiting room with 4 people sitting waiting. Receptionist doesnt look up at me but states i’ll be with u in a minute. She isnt helping anyone else, but i literally STAND there for 8 minutes waiting to check in for my appt. Not. happy… Finally get called and taken to an exam room and wait for the dr to come in for approx 26 minutes.(The nurse did tell me they were running late though) Despite that, Dr. Driscoll asked alot of questions, was truly interested and engaged during my visit. At the end of my visit I felt confident we were on the same page and that my concerns were heard, addressed and the prescribed course of treatment was appropriate based on research and discussions with my primary care physician as well as with Dr. Driscoll.

Absolutely wonderful doctor. I’ve been seeing him for almost a year and he has been patient, clever and resourceful. Dr. Driscoll regularly proves why he’s a highly respected and recommended specialist. He is witty, considerate and very thorough in his explanation of medicines and treatments. He doesn’t sugar coat anything, which I respect and desire in a doctor, but it is something some people don’t have a thick enough skin for.

Extremely poor bedside manner — moving on! I was referred to Dr. Driscoll by my primary physician, whose opinion I trust. When I saw him in his office, Dr. Driscoll seemed very kind and caring — great! HOWEVER, when I tried to discuss my treatment after a procedure and during a subsequent phone conversation, he was abrupt and abrasive — terrible! I asked about a treatment option I had researched, and he said he didn’t think it would work, but he’d write me a prescription if I wanted to waste my money on it.(!!!) His tone was very critical and his lack of patience and compassion was astounding. I have a chronic condition and quickly decided I can’t go through life dealing with this type of personality. Adiós! P. S. The«waste of money» prescription worked like a miracle, and my new doctor is absolutely wonderful!
