Reasonably priced, small menu but for the price everything was okay so far. Good alternative to McDos, the cheeseburger even reminded me of the old ones of McD(if you can remember the times when you could taste real meat in it). The shakes were also okay. We went here after the cinema, so it was pretty late during the week and it wasn’t crowded. There were some«strange» people there so I was happy to leave after a few minutes.

Seattle’s «In-N-Out»? LOL I am not even an In-N-Out fangirl, but Dick’s is not even CLOSE. Service is lousy — dirty tables, cashiers are short with you/unwelcoming, and worst of all, you can’t request ANY changes because everything is pre-made already. Want a double but don’t like veggies? Too bad. Watching your calories so don’t want mayo/cheese? Too bad. And don’t even dream of ordering anything protein style. Completely disregarding all of these negatives, I sucked it up and ordered a burger because«Hey, it’s gotta be better at least than McDonald’s!». Wrong. Unfortunately, the bun was stale and the patties weren’t juicy at all. Pro: since everything is pre-made, the service was extremely quick. Useful if you are famished(or really high) and a few minutes sounds like a long time.

Honestly I could have gone to McDonald’s for a better burger. The staff was nice, but we were all distracted by the intoxicated teenagers who were running around yelling barefoot and half naked. It’s a standard set up for a fast food joint, plus some sleeping homeless people. All the burgers are pre-made, which for me is already concerning, but we ate here regardless because it was allegedly«comparable to in n out». As a native Californian I was offended that a burger place this foul was even mentioned in the same sentence let alone compared to in n out. On top of that, condiments were 5 cents extra for less than a normal packet size. Would never come here again and I definitely left with a bad stomach ache.

Consistency is key, and Dick’s has it down pat. For it’s dining category of fast, cheap, tasty burgers fries and shakes, Dick’s is a winner! I understand the cash only business model. It’s easier and faster to choose only one payment option. I don’t think people can complain about the fact they only take cash and charge for condiments. People, it’s 50 cents for ketchup and a few bucks for a burger! That is still cheaper than a McDonalds, and better tasting too! Classic drive-ins were before my time, but I know what the food tasted like then, and still does. I try and make this a stop every time I visit the Emerald City. Thank you Dick Spady for creating your burger joint and keeping it consistent! You will be missed.

Came here again in a sober state of mind. Still great, cheap, greasy, delicious burger goodness.

I thought the food was okay. I really enjoyed the relish on their burgers & I liked the buns. The staff was super friendly.

This place is awful, especially at night. I mean, it’s nothing compared to the location on Broadway. This particular location has no authenticity or character like the other one does. The food is definitely good, hence the 2 stars. I came here with some buddies on a Saturday night, which is undoubtably busy, but the service was just awful. I get it, cheap burgers are great, but cheap attitudes from employees, and wild customers who behave like animals(no offense to animals who have more class). Nah, I’m staying away from this place, at least on the weekend nights.

I’ve done a review for another Dick’s Drive-In and I think all the Dick’s are consistent in what they offer so I’ll copy & paste my review below. The only difference is that this Dick’s has a dine in area where you don’t have to go back to your car to sit and there’s restrooms provided inside. Quite a catchy name for an establishment, I love it; it gets people talking which is a great marketing strategy although I doubt that was on purpose… or was it? This is one of those places that Seattleite would tell tourists to try out because it is the«In N Out» of Washington. In N Out is still better in my opinion, but to each their own. The menu is nice and simple, just a couple basic burgers options, natural cut fries, and shakes. I think there’s a slight ice cream menu too, but the whole menu probably has less than 15 items listed. Notice, it’s Dick’s Drive-IN, not Dick’s Drive THRU so you will have to park your car and walk inside to order. There usually is a line. The line don’t go too fast, just because there’s usually a lot of people which just means they do a great job staying busy, but once you get up to order, your order does get to you fast. There is also a provided parking lot so makes it really easy if you were to drive to get here. This isn’t a high end, cook your meat to your own preference type of place. In fact, you can’t special order anything which doesn’t bother me because I like everything on my burger anyways. It’s fast food, convenient if you are in the area and want a cheap bite or is done partying in Cap Hill and want to walk to get some food to satisfy your drunkenness. I noticed that the only burger with that yummy special sauce is the deluxe burger so that’s all I get, the fries are so so, shakes are typical strawberry/chocolate/vanilla shakes, & ice cream are good. Condiments like ketchup, mustard, tarter, and onions are 5 cents extra. Overall, I think Dick’s does a great job is what it does which is providing cheap and fast food. Oh yeah, CASHONLY. Tell me about your experience if you’ve been here or is going to after reading this review:)

Limp fries. Extremely soggy lettuce. Charged for condiments. First time here and didn’t know it was cash only. Cashier made me go to atm and wait in line again with 10 people in front of me. Thanks dicks but no thanks

This was such a disappointment. I mean, this is their version of In&Out? You have to be kidding right? McDonalds double cheeseburger and fries are way better. I ordered their Deluxe specials and fries. Fries were burnt, and the beef were burnt too. It was well done overcooked meat. The only good part was the fresh buns. Overall, this was part of my bucketlist for my visit in Seattle, WA. Will I recommend this place, no but if you would like to check it out then go for it. Ohh yeah, CASHONLY.

I love Dicks! Either getting dicks post sporting event or in the effort to bring me back to life on night when I’ve probably had one too many! I generally get a cheeseburger, fries w/tartar and a chocolate shake– it’s nothing fancy, but it always hits the spot. Their slogan, «taste makes the difference,» is on point. Dicks you are tasty!

Got a lot of food, for a decent price, open late, and I have to say it’s gonna keep you satisfied after all of the other restaurants are closed down! The shakes are thick, and the burgers are better than average, I think you’ll enjoy the fact that the condiments are easy to grab and quick to enjoy!

We stopped here as our first place to eat in Seattle. It was Saturday night and all the restaurants were booked. It’s just fast food and pretty cheap. The fries are gross. There is some homeless man with a cat on a leash outside and then a homeless guy came in while we were eating… The were harmless And what’s up with them charging for ketchup???

First of all, it’s a Dick’s so you can’t go wrong. All the Dick’s are consistent and delicious. This is the only location where you can sit and eat your burger haul! The rest are all drive ins only. They have an ATM machine(as it is always cash only) near the restrooms. It is near the Seattle Center so you have a mixture of people from bums, to the rich folks. The food at every dicks is consistent so one isn’t better than the other, unless you consider having a dining area better. So if you’re out, enjoying a show at the Key, wandering around, barhopping, or just plain ol’ hungry and you want a place to sit down and eat your burgers, then come to this location!

Came in here and after placing my order, was told they only accept cash. Would have been great to know before standing in line for fifteen minutes. They don’t have an ATM and since I wasn’t familiar with the area, couldn’t find one. The attitude of the cashier wasn’t the best either. After seeing the menu and what the food looked like, I have no desire to return. I have no idea what draws people to Dick’s.

Considering the long lines that Dick’s regularly attracted during my week stay in Seattle I expected to be blown away by a local culinary delight. Alas, their food was only slightly above average. The burgers and fries were fine, certainly better than the offerings at most fast food joints, but couldn’t hold a candle to the menu at my beloved 5 Guys. The thick vanilla milkshake was the highlight of my meal; I am something of a milkshake connoisseur and have sampled shakes from all over the country. I was annoyed by Dick’s policy of charging extra for condiments. I had no problem with the cost, spending an extra five cents per dollop wouldn’t set me back much, but only after sitting down at my booth did I realize that I was in dire need of ketchup. I didn’t feel like standing in another fifteen-minute line just so I could order some condiments so I was forced to choke down my fries without the aid of a dipping sauce. What an inconvenience! After leaving the restaurant, I took an Über back to my hotel and the driver explained to me how the cost of living in Seattle has gone up because many high-tech companies with deep pockets have relocated to the Emerald City. Big businesses with a huge number of white collar employees like Amazon and Microsoft have driven up the cost of real estate and now the middle and lower classes are struggling to pay their bills. I guess Seattleeites are trying to make money any way they can, even by charging an extra fee per Dixie cup of ketchup.

I never give out 1 stars but I must. I’m always on the hunt for a good burger. I was discussing Freddy’s burgers with someone. She preferred Dicks. Upon bouncing around The Queen Anne Area I seen dicks burgers. The prices alone should of reflected the quality of burger I was about to receive. It was small. The meat was tasteless with no flavor. And dry. They add condiments to it for a reason. Plus the fact it’s been sitting under a heat lamp. If I wanted that I could of gone to McDonald’s. Paid for a fry which was tiny. And a shake that was nothing to write home about. To serve a good burger it should be put on a grill, and made to order. This isn’t a one size fits all society when it comes to burgers. I definitely don’t mind waiting while my burger is freshly grilled and Is served piping hot and dripping grease. I tried it and will be passing on it in the future. Save your pennies and go elsewhere.

Always a good idea. My go to is a strawberry shake, greasy fries, and a dicks deluxe. Best late night snack available to all. Busy but lines go quickly. Nice having parking and a booth or table option at the facility, and it is not a drive through or outside stand. Staff love their job(or it seems like it!). Buy a shirt, I love the 12th man one that they brought out in ’14. There are pan handlers outside frequently, but they’re harmless.

Dicks is a great burger joint. Simple as that. A simple burger, good fries and amazing shakes. Since I was introduced to Dicks a few years ago, I now make sure it is a must go to stop when visiting Seattle. I always look forward to stopping there. Pros– Seating at this location. Others have standing only room. This Dicks has a full sit down lobby. Real 100% beef,(albeit pre-made burgers) never frozen. Potatoes hand cut daily for the fries. Shakes individually whipped when ordered. Old school shakes are hard to come by now. Price is super cheap considering what most other places charge for a burger. Cons– No substitutions. For picky eaters this can be a problem. The burgers are pre-made, so there are no changes. Ketchup will also cost you $ 0.05 Cash only(There is an ATM on site, but still…) Although there are police on patrol as security at night in the restaurant, they don’t do anything about the homeless guys outside the entrance asking for money.

Anybody want some Dicks? Any takers? Okay, so I kept hearing that Dick’s is the In-n-Out of Seattle. So when I planned a trip to Seattle I knew I had to try some Dicks.(heh heh) First of all, the name itself is just asking for a million innuedos and I kinda like that. Came here for late dinner after visitng Kerry Park. They’re open till 2am! So that was definitely a plus! The menu was simple. Ended up getting a deluxe burger, fries, and a chocolate shake. But forreals? You want me to pay for condiments? What kind of sick joke is this? Whatevs, I splurged the whole .05 cents each for a ketchup, tartar sauce and onions. Finally bit into my first Dick’s burger and it wasn’t bad. In fact it was pretty freakin’ good. The patty was moist but their fries were lacking. It was soggy and super brown in color. It just looked like it was sitting there for awhile. I did not see any freshness although they claim their fries are fresh. Also I don’t see the appeal in the tartar sauce. I love tartar sauce but this one was just not that great and it didn’t really go with anything but my boyfriend thought the tartar sauce and the burger were a match made in heaven. My boyfriend loved Dicks(heh heh) so much that he insisted we get it 3 times during our trip. –______– Alright but enough dickin’ around, this whole Dick’s compared to In-n-Out biz I just don’t get. Yes, they’re both a burger joint and yes they both have simplistic menus. But dude, hands down In-n-Out all the way! Sorry, guys As good as Dick’s was, In-n-Out will always be #1 in my heart.
