What a shame! We just came back to Seattle after a long time away and was really looking forward to dining here. They served the BEST Cajun crawfish ever! :(All the best to you guys! So sad to see you go.

This is a must try if you love Cajun and Vietnamese cuisine. I love this place. Although the location is crummy since there’s no parking except on the street, I think that this a hidden gem and worth the struggle of trying to find parking. It does fusion so well with incorporating Cajun ingredients into Vietnamese dishes. I have loved everything that I’ve tried. They also have dishes that are either straight Viet or straight cajun. My favorites include the bun cajun and the étouffée. Also, if you like spicy then you’re in luck. They know spicy so if you order a 5 at most other places this is a 6 to a 7 in my opinion, but I love it. The staff can be a little slow with somethings like water refills, but I can say that I have enjoyed all of my experiences here. They are all very friendly. Highly recommend this to all.

I love food fusion! Had to try the Cajun crawfish phở and I got it spicy of course!!! Everything about this bowl was delicious except, surprisingly, the crawfish. The crawfish tasted idk. Old? Dirty? That’s rude but like muddy seafood so I did not eat it. I’ve only ever had it doused in Cajun seasoning so maybe that’s what it’s suppose to taste like?! Anywho, the sausage and shrimp were great! There were plenty of noodles and the broth. Oh the broth! Sooo full of flavor and peppery, loves it! And it comes out hot, hot, hot! Can’t wait to try the Cajun wings next time!

The Cajun phở is pretty good and worth a try, especially if you like spicy broth. I had the mild and could feel the heat. The portions are generous too with tons of sausage, shrimp and crawfish meat. Also tried the Cajun wings and they had a great crispy crust, though I didn’t taste much Cajun flavor. I prefer beef phở, but I might come back to try their other menu items.

I come here all the time. I love the taste and quality of the cajun phở. I ask them to take the sausage out and put some flank steak in instead. Some of the servers have a hard time with substitutions, so be prepared for that. The phở is absolutely delicious, though. Struggling with the server to get my phở exactly how I want it is worth whatever ends up coming out, because this stuff is good. And SUPER spicy, if you want that. I’m heading there again this weekend and I can’t wait. They also have beer, which is a plus. Everyone is super nice and the place is very clean.

I came here on a saturday for brunch, and there was no one there but us. I didn’t even see the worker, he was hiding behind the wall. Service here was good though, they were all nice! I was super hungover when i came here to eat, but i thought the phở was a little bland. I tried the crawfish phở, because it’s unusual and sounded cool. It was alright, they were not cheap with their crawfish though, which i thought was good! Maybe i’ll come here again when i’m not hungover.

Tried this place on a whim today. I had something totally new… the Étouffée. I would give the Étouffée a 4 because it was tasty, but I kind of wish it was a little bigger. I also ordered a Banh Mi, but I was just ok. Nothing outstanding. My daughter also got a kids phở, but it just didn’t really seem all that amazing. Looking around I kind of wish I would have gotten the broil plates because those looked really good. Over the place is nice if you sit out front, but the back can be a bit dark. I give this place a 3, my wife loved the Étouffée enough to give it a 4.

The wings were crispy and perfectly battered, with juicy insides. Perfection! And the sauce was SO tasty. I could eat three dozen, no kidding. I also ordered the Cajun Crawfish Phở in medium spiciness, and tried the étouffée and the gumbo. Of these three, the gumbo was my favorite. Although none were extraordinary, and I’d probably rate them 3* each. But 5* for the wings, for sure! And no wait/great service was nice too. Will be back again for the wings.

Are you crazy for Cajun? No, Crazy Phở Cajun! It’s when you mix Vietnamese and Cajun cuisine, you get interesting spicy results! Off a tip I got from a Unilocal elite friend of mine, I decided to venture into the international district and check out Crazy Phở Cajun. I loved both cuisines individually, but what can you say about merging them together for a spicy kick? Inquiring minds wanted to know. More specifically, just my own. The concept of having Cajun inspired Vietnamese Phở intrigued me very much. And as such, I bookmarked this place to see what the deal this place was. It was a receptively small restaurant. The main set of tables were in the front, but they had more in the back, but we’re not occupied. Oh yeah, they have bathrooms for customer use. That was a big thumbs up. The overall experience here was good and positive. The only downside was that I should not have made the order medium spicy. Lesson learned. I could not even drink the broth after fishing out the meat and noodles. :( Crazy Phở Cajun is located at 3337th Street in the heart of the international district /Chinatown in Seattle, WA. The entire neighborhood is littered with pay street parking, so I had to drive around and see if there was any free spots, but unfortunately, I didn’t see any. :(I figured it was only prudent to spare a few $$ to check out this tasty menagerie of Cajun flavors with the subtle ambiance of Vietnamese food. I found space literally in front of the restaurant, so that was just perfect timing. :) They accept major credit cards, so that’s always a good positive thing. The prices here were good and reasonable. I stepped into Crazy Phở Cajun on a recent Tuesday in late April 2015. They were not busy at all, with a couple of tables occupied. I was shown to a table almost immediately and that’s great. The restaurant itself is clean, organized, and quite orderly. The entire time I was in crazy phở Cajun was under an hour for lunch, so that was great. The service here was typical, fast enough, and friendly. I asked the server if I could have the combination Phở with the Cajun inspired broth and he said there was no charge for doing so. I also ordered the summer rolls as well. The shrimp summer rolls were pretty good, as usual. I think it was freshly made, versus previously refrigerated. Time for the challenge. In my own personal quest to have Phở in all 50 states, I decided to pick this one to check off the list for WA, even though I also did Phở in Tacoma as well the previous day. I guess I’ll pick the more awesome one. I would surmise that this phở with Cajun aspirations seemed to have a realistic bite to it, but it didn’t seem to have the Cajun flavors I had been hoping for. It felt like there was just jalapeños in there for a hot mess. I’m no connoisseur, but maybe I’m wrong. It’s a challenge to merge awkward cuisines together, but crazy phở Cajun seem to make it work. The phở itself was good, just too spicy for my tastebuds. More reason to return to Seattle and retry again. I would recommend crazy phở Cajun to anyone who wishes to see and taste fusion of Vietnamese and Cajun cuisines together. Too bad, I wish I could get more dishes to try and sample. Oh well. Next time for sure. 4 stars, solid! Support local! B+

Very creative combination of Vietnamese & Cajun food! I’m excited that another phở place has been born in Chinatown! This place is right by Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot and the restaurant has a standing display board outside so that you can trip over it and have a tort claim against the restaurant(jk :)) My broseph and I went there on a weeknight a little after 8pm. The place was unsurprisingly empty but surprisingly spacious. The premises were also VERYCLEAN, which is atypical of a Vietnamese restaurant. I knew about the special cajun broth, thanks to my fellow Unilocal community, so I opted for the Cajun Phở. The broth had a spicy kick! Another thing I noticed when my phở arrived is that the ingredients inside the phở goodness were different — instead of the beef round steak, tendon, and tripe, they were replaced with crawfish, shrimp, and sausage! It was refreshing to eat a slightly mutated version of phở as the phở noodles were essentially the same. However, in situations such as these, I admit I am more old school than new and miss the meats, tendon, tripe, and other usual crap in my phở. I can see why other people would like this Cajun Phở though! I’m reserving my one star for next time. If the regular phở doesn’t disappoint, it’s getting 5 stars!

I love their unique name! I always drive pass this business when I’m in Chinatown and never gave it a chance until today. I ordered two pound crawfish with medium spice and gizzards. The gizzards are probably the best I’ve ever had. Usually, gizzards are chewy but this was not. It was cooked perfectly. Also, the dipping sauce that comes with just tops very thing off. Definitely a must appetizer to order. When the crawfish came out, it didn’t look like two pounds… But the taste and freshness made up for it. Kind of. Lol. The seasoning is very unique! Not your typical Cajun season. I would have to say it had an asian twist to it. The sauce was a little thick and had a Cajun curry taste to it. Sooo good!!! The medium star was a bit spicy for me but it was bearable. So if you’re not a fan of spicy and usually order three stars at a Thai restaurant, I would say order your broil mild.

I wanted to LOVE this place so badly. I am Cajun myself and I love phở so when I saw that there was a restaurant that served Cajun phở, I flipped out. I made my way to the ID as soon as I could. But there were definitely some issues with my experience here, both with the food and service. The restaurant itself is spacious and nicely-decorated, but strangely only about a quarter full on the weekend at lunch. My friend doesn’t eat beef so we asked the waitress if they could make Cajun phở with chicken. The waitress had no idea(she seemed to be new) but another person working in the restaurant shouted to us that the andouille has beef. Well, andouille by definition is usually a pork-only sausage so I thought that was strange so we asked the waitress for a few more minutes to browse the menu, since my friend had to reconsider his choice. The other person working in the restaurant(who seemed to be the manager– he was older and telling the younger server what to do) came to take our order a few minutes later and he seemed extremely rushed… even though the restaurant had only a few tables full. He kept cutting us off before we could finish ordering. I mean, he wasn’t outrightly rude but it did make us feel a little bit uncomfortable. We ordered fried jalapeños for an appetizer and they were served piping hot. Taste-wise, they were okay but nothing special. I ordered the Cajun bun(wasn’t in the mood for phở) and my friend ended up ordering the pork bun. The first thing I noticed is that my dish smelled extremely fishy. I’ve been eating seafood all my life and I know that –of course– seafood is going to smell a little bit fishy, even when cooked. But my dish smelled and tasted incredibly fishy and I know from experience that is usually a bad sign. It wasn’t a fish-sauce kind of fishy smell, it was much stronger and slightly different than that. I had a hard time eating more than a few bites of my dish. My friend had a better experience with his meal but I didn’t get a chance to taste it. There was a lot of meat in my dish, so it had that going for it. I didn’t have the best experience but it seems like most reviewers enjoyed the phở. I’m planning on giving this place another try but only so I can try the phở.

What an interesting combination! But in a way it makes sense with how both cuisines can have bold flavors. Husband had cajun phở while I ordered the cajun vermicelli. Both were interesting but in a good way! A bit sweet from the cajun mix — crawfish, shrimp, andoullie sausage — which paired well with the savory broth of the phở. It also works well with the nuoc mam(fish sauce) for the vermicelli bowl, since nuoc mam is also made with a bit of sugar. There was definitely plentiful seafood and meat too; they don’t skimp on that, which I really appreciate. Pretty tasty stuff, and I’d be interested to try other dishes next time we’re in the ID!

After a very long long walk in the cold, I was so happy to settle in to my seat at Crazy Phở Cajun for the much photographed bowl of Cajun Phở! It was so flavorful and had TONS of crawfish meat and sausage as well as some plump shrimp. The broth was a well made blend of cajun seasonings and the classic Vietnamese phở broth. I ordered medium spicy, which gave it a little kick, but next time I will get the spiciest option. I rarely drink broth after my noodles and goodies are gone, but I admittedly sipped on this shamelessly. My husband got the Bun Cajun, which had the same Cajun toppings as my phở, as well as fresh veggies and a luscious sweet and spicy sauce. I cannot even describe the flavor of this amazing sauce, but I was jealous of his food, and I am craving it as I write this! The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, and I especially love the cute older Viet lady who brought out our food. Will definitely be back and hopefully they do well at this location.

I’m so glad the owner decided to open a location in Seattle. I was already a big fan of the Federal Way location, and a closer restaurant to where I live makes it that much easier to enjoy the unique phở. I’ll start by saying that this will not be your typical phở experience if you decide to try the Cajun phở. It’s different, but not in a bad way. They do a fantastic job of taking an awesome dish(phở) and adding awesome meats(andouille sausage, crawfish, shrimp) to create something that’s both original and delicious. The meat is piled on heavy(always a big plus in my book), and the flavors all work together perfectly. You wouldn’t think it would work, but it makes sense considering both Vietnamese and Cajun food are influenced by French cuisine. The kicker for me, though, is when you order it spicy, it’s legitimately spicy, and I wholeheartedly appreciate that. In my opinion, the best way to eat it is spicy, and Crazy Phở Cajun knows how to do spicy. The new location has plenty of seating, which is great for big groups. There are big screen TVs, which can be distracting(or welcomed, if you want to catch a game), and the whole place is clean and well-lit. The service was friendly and quick, too. The prices for the dishes are a little more expensive than your typical ID prices, but it’s worth the extra few dollars for the experience. It’s not like you can find Cajun phở in many other places.

I love this place! The Vietnamese-Cajun fusion here is one of a kind. This restaurant just opened up a couple months ago and only heard of this place through a friend that went to their Federal Way establishment almost weekly. I decided to order the cajun phở per recommendation from my friend. They ask you what spice level you would prefer, mild or hot. I foolishly went for hot(I can’t handle spicy food). The Cajun phở came with a very generous amount of crawfish, shrimp and andouille. The broth was delicious and definitely did not need any sauce to improve the flavor. I do want to mention that after getting through half my bowl, I was drenched in sweat. I also ordered some egg rolls and the order came with three of them. Overall, pretty decent, the sour plum sauce that came with it was very good!

Phở + Cajun? You don’t hear about Vietnamese-Cajun fusion very often. Crazy Phở Cajun is located in International District and is about a 5 minute walk from the Int’l District tunnel station. You probably won’t miss it since their logo is extremely clear(and repeated 4 times on the building!). Once you enter it looks a little small but low and behold, there is a back area section that seats many more, especially big parties. The place is probably the cleanest phở place I have ever been to. It is more modern than Asian. People have been rumoring about the Cajun phở and gumbo so of course that is exactly what we had to order. Cajun phở — I can see why people like this! It is very different from your traditional beef or chicken phở. It has a broth that has a kick to it and is filled with crawfish, shrimp and andouille sausage. This place does not skimp out on the meat so you will get plenty of meat in your phở. I found the broth to have way more flavor than at other phở places. I found myself sipping on the broth more than before. The crawfish and shrimp are already peeled for you so all you picky/lazy eaters don’t have to worry about peeling anything. They are juicy, fresh and full of delicious flavor! The andouille sausage also has that perfect kick and is surprisingly good with phở. The first bite is interesting but you soon grow a strong liking for it. It’s piping hot which is perfect for the cold Winter days to come. Gumbo — It looks small in the dish, but there actually is quite a lot. The rice is buried underneath all that luscious sauce, crawfish and andouille sausage. The rice is perfectly puffed and the gumbo sauce is so luxuriously spicy with a kick. It’s nothing like I’ve ever had before and I kept going in for more. Everything here is so well seasoned and the portion size is plenty. Service — The family that owns this place are so sweet. They constantly would check up on us and smile. Service was spot on for us! Beyond just phở and gumbo, they have other Cajun + Vietnamese fusion dishes as well as crawfish by the lb! You have to order a minimum of 2 lbs but it looks so yummy! The people next to us ordered a lot and had these giant bowls filled with seafood. I was a little jealous. They also have some Cajun appetizers like Cajun fries and fried gizzards! If phở is not your thing, you’ll be sure to find something else that will satisfy your palette. The price is very fair, especially for Cajun fusion and seafood. It was about $ 22 for both dishes(phở size large). One star for originality, one star for service, two stars for taste/flavor and one star for cleanliness. The bathrooms here are gorgeous. They are the most beautiful bathrooms I have ever seen at a phở place. The tiger striped sinks are completely eye catching(go check them out!). For a unique spin on food this place gets 5 stars in my book. I hope to be back on another cold day to warm my belly up with some serious spice.

The concept is interesting but I’m not sure about the execution. We ordered Cajun phở and expected a combination of some cajun boil + phở. However other than the replacement of beef with andouille sausage and crawfish, it was not much different from normal phở. The broth didn’t have enough cajun spices but had excess of pepper. It wasn’t flavorful enough to be either phở or cajun phở. Tip: Order the spicy level if you like your phở spicy because medium didn’t even have a kick.

Huh. What a surprise. Wasn’t expecting that at all. I am talking about the style of food, not just the fact that I mistook a large orange slice for squash in the shrimp boil. and put the whole thing in my mouth… Lots of tables, so that’s a plus there. The owner is interested in your food experience, which is cool. On a personal note, I was pretty delighted with my friend who said that he would partake in shrimp with the heads on more than anything. I appreciate eating with people that can eat food beyond standard processing i.e. friends that aren’t horrified that fish have EYES and can be served with them still in their lil ol’ heads. SHRIMPHEADSLURPERS: UNITE! I had the Cajun Phở and it was ONPOINT. Like an assembly line, I would flick the andouille sausage into my friend’s bowl while I ate, but the rest was absolutely to my liking. Salty, flavor-slapped, with plenty of crawfish plus a couple of shrimp swimming around in the broth and noodles. We had the small size, so we could have the… …2 lb shrimp boil.(It’s a min 2lb order of any seafood you choose) The sauce was light and orange-y(yeah, I know. ORANGES) with onions, potatoes and corn cob chunks mixed with the whole prawns. Unlike my favorite Cajun seafood place, it was surprising in that it lacked garlic and was so light. The only Debbie Downer? That would be the étouffée :/They pour a gallon of sweet chili sauce into the étouffée. If you don’t know what sweet chili sauce is, it’s a TON of garlic, red pepper flake… and the entire C&H sugar cane crop in a single bottle. It is SO sweet, and étouffée is not meant to be sweet. Crazy Phở Cajun… don’t fix what isn’t broken. Sweet étouffée is an oxymoron. We each had a beer, and think our bill was about $ 68. Not cheap, but I have a high threshold when it comes to seafood. They’re doing it, and doing it well here. LL Cool J would approve.

it’s Cajunnnnnn! it’s phở! It’s both!!! And it’s crazy good! Eeeee. I was so excited when I first got to try their food in Federal way location. Kind of bummed because its a 45 minutes drive. Got sad when I couldn’t return. Let’s face it. I drive for work 9 – 5 some days. Other days, I cab/über it everywhere since parking in downtown seattle cost a fortune! Driving that far down only happened when I go to Portland. Even then I’m obsessed with trains! My love affair was ended short. And then! It happened. It finally happen. They brought their famous phở, famous Cajun, famous Vietnamese dishes and all of their goodness to Seattle! it is now 10 minutes drive from me. And it is so good. Let the love affair begins again! Weeeeee. Décor– pretty big and roomy! You can’t miss it. It’s just a block before the famous Vietnamese place I love. Will this place give them a run for their money? We’ll have to wait and see! What to get? Try them all. Gumbo — amazing! Well made! Tasty! shelffishy, meaty! Spicy! Everything in one bowl. And it is super filling. Shrimp boil — got this medium. Love the shrimp. They were big and with roe! Aka eggs. Many pregnant shrimps were in my boil. So much roe! I’m getting it extra crazy and extra spicy next time. This had barely any heat. Or flavoring. I think they went a little too light on me. Crazy Cajun phở — I love getting to eat my crawfish without having to work for it. This was exactly that. The broth was a little too salty/Cajun-y for me but it was good. I’m gonna check and see if they have different type of noodles next time. Overall, it was great. Day 3 of opening. Service wasn’t too slow or too fast. The place is big. Quite roomy and wasn’t crowded yet. Now I just need to pick what to try next time! Definitely having that gumbo again. I know that much :)
