This place has a true pub feel, a no frills take-it-or-leave-it vibe. It also has some amazing live music for either free or cheap. I’ve been in there a few times and listened to a celtic music jam circle. Nothing better than a pint and some irish fiddle, truly magical.

We may have as well been out side. In the middle of winter(less than 40 fahrenheit /5 Celsius) you don’t leave the front door open to cool the bar! We all had to rug up as if we were outside. This was a conscious decision by the people running the bar. Won’t come here again. At least in winter!

Man, these guys just seem to draw the off crowd, charge covers on the wrong night(just pay the band! We will make it up in booze). It’s a longer term resident and the only Irish pub on Ballard Ave but doesnt clean up like you’d think. Great locale. And I’m a sucker for Irish pubs. Just something off about it. Good option for live music whenever.

Came to Conor Byrne for a show Friday night. Nice venue, nice stage setup at the back, great location. The problem came when we sat at the bar. There were 3 other people at the bar and maybe 10 people total in the place. Not once the entire night(3 hours) did the bartender offer us a drink. Each time we had to walk to the register and wait to be called on to order drinks. The two bartenders clearly hated their jobs, hated the customers and didn’t want to be there.

Cool small place, but it can get very hot and if there’s a decent crowd(50 plus) it can get tight

Sometimes I forget about Conor’s, since it’s been there so long, like an old friend. But recently I escaped for a dose of reality after an «Are you kidding me?» disappointing dinner at Stoneburner. Conor’s is always friendly and without an ounce of pretension, not easy to find on Ballard Avenue these days. It’s clearly the best place to drink a Guinness in town, and they also make a mean Moscow Mule. I’m glad I remembered it’s also a haven away from the hipsters. So drop in if you are looking for a comfortable place to to relax.

So we arrived, had many a Guinness, but apparently they will not serve an Irish car bomb here. 0 stars.

This place is pretty darn cool. We went for a Bluegrass/Old Time Music night. The music was great all night. In fact it really drew in people that were just walking by. There really weren’t many people there at all though. The one bar tender had no problem holding the place down. We did get hungry and had to bail for tacos. We will definitely be back again.

I especially love the Monday night Bluegrass Jam-great place to meet friends and see fun, live music during the week.

Came here on a a Friday night. $ 8 cover and the horrendous music started after we paid for our $ 6.60 beers. The place cleared out so fast once the music started. It really was some of the worst music I’ve ever heard. I hope it’s not like this every weekend, but I won’t gone back to find out.

This was a great time on Halloween night. Went to a bar next door trying to charge $ 10 cover; we said eff that and came here, which was a monumentally great decision. Crowded, but not too uncomfortably so, good drinks, and in the middle of it all, a full-on marching band comes in, surrounds the pool tables and gave a great show! Later a regular band took the stage, and it was quite entertaining.

Great place. Open mic on Sundays are awesome, such an awesome line up of local musicians. It might be hard to get into the list of performers since it’s pretty popular. And as someone who doesn’t drink, this place has the best homemade ginger ale. Obsessed.

Heard a band playing and dropped in. Sounds great in here. Homemade ginger ale. Wow. The band just played a funky version of a Nine inch nails song.

Wow, so glad I stopped in! This place has lots on tap and a really relaxing vibe. Seemed like a lot of the«proper» locals and not the pretentious Balladites.(whatever that means; you know what it means) There’s live music pretty often, so stop in and make some cool music-minded friends, the bartender was cool. there’s really nothing much to eat, but they will let you bring stuff in from the outside. So total win.

I’ve been coming here off and on for many years now, and still have yet to feel the traditional warmth that other Irish pubs are intrinsically known for. I believe it stems from the overwhelming Victorian layout with a grand bar to the left and stage in the back with tall ceilings and dark wood which leaves it feeling cold and gravely lacking any intimacy. Also, the staff can be a bit slow and ineffective at times, even as much as never hearing of the common cocktail you’re attempting to order. Ambiance aside, the music is the main reason to show up. Connor Byrnes is renowned for its long history of Irish folk singers coming from around the globe, choosing to play here over all other venues. That alone, is worth the step inside!

Stopped by here not too long ago for a show. This place is pretty good by my book! The staff was friendly and they had a few ciders to choose from, which is always a plus. Sound was decent too. Overall, I loved the vibe. Felt nice and cozy on a chilly night!

Soup of the Day: Whiskey Seriously? You are my favorite bar now. The ginger and Jameson is pretty much heaven in a glass as well. Perfect place to go if Walrus & Carpenter gives you a «1 to 2 hour» wait for a table. More perfect place to go if Jameson is one of your food groups.

I had a blast here checking out the live music and meeting new friends in Ballard. The bartender was super friendly and the entire vibe here reminds me of a friends home bar. Just way bigger!

Stopped in to watch the Seahawks whomp on the Rams. Bar is dive, which is fine, but probably comes to life later than 2:00 pm. The place was pretty full, and there was only one bartender for the whole place, tables included. Bartender was polite but not especially urgent; we had to walk up to bar from our table for first round. Beer selection was passable, but not phenomenal and without a large number of local brews, something I look for. My biggest issue was that this was yet another bar that thinks an Irish name, some Celtic font, and Triquetras on the signage make it an Irish pub. Nope. Give me some Irish ambiance, and we’ll talk.

Made it here for an early NYE Ballard scamper. I do have to say that this was a great place to start the night. The warm and big bar was chill, and the barkeep was cool. Since this is an Irish pub, my bro and I went with Black & Tans(Smithwicks with Guiness layered on top). My sister in law had a Hot Totty, which I stole a drink of and found mighty tasty. They played some nice music — good drinkin’ music, and they were fixin’ ta get ready for a band on this particular evening(I heard they have bands here most nights). So yes, I now have a new pub to call home when I’m haunting Ballard.
