This is a competitor to Bambu with various types of che(Vietnamese dessert). I ended up getting the Che Ma Lai(malaysian che) which comes with a fresh dollop of durian(they ask before they put it in the che), topped with peanuts, comes with cendol, peanuts, tapioca and coconut milk. They also have various types of macarons so I got the durian and the taro one. The durian macaron tasted slightly of durian but more of jackfruit. The taro was flat in shape and did have a slight taro flavor, but not enough to make it outstanding, only meh.

I love the desserts here. Reminds me of what my mom would make while I was growing up. It’s local and has more tradional desserts than Bambu.

I came here with my best friend after seeing pictures on instagram of some of the desserts. I thought even though we were eating there, they would give it to us in a bowl or something but it ended up still being in a cup. The guy was super friendly and explained everything to me since it was my first time there. I forgot which one we got but it was Thai and another Asian one. The one I got had durian on top but because I didn’t like durian I gave it to my friend. The drinks were really good, not too sweet but still had a lot of flavor to it. If I was in the neighborhood again, I would grab another drink.

Grab and go kind of place for dessert. I believe they also serve savory vietnamese food. They claim that their macarons are flown in from France daily but I can’t attest to how fresh that would be? I’ve tried a couple desserts here both which I have no idea what it’d be called in english but I’ll give you the description instead. One was a pandan jelly with mung bean drink and another was a coconut jello dessert in a coconut. Both were quite unique and tastes pretty authentic to Vietnamese cuisine. Prices aren’t too shabby but could be better. Worth checking out.

I FINALLY got to try this place out after having it bookmarked for awhile. I have a friend who lives nearby, so we thought we’d check it out after Dim Sum. The place is really small(only four or five tables if I remember correctly). Upon entering, to your left, you will see a giant dessert menu consisting of both hot and cold desserts! The menu was overwhelming, because it was written in Vietnamese then the English translation underneath. I am not Vietnamese, and neither is my friend, so we didn’t have a clue on what to get. We ended up going on Unilocal and looking at the pictures! I ended up getting the Che 5 Mau because I thought it looked the prettiest on Unilocal: P The salted nuts threw me off though, I didn’t like that part. But the shredded jellies were perfect – there were a lot and were finely shredded! It felt good sucking them babies up through the straw – nothing got stuck! The drinks here are also pre-made. My friend wanted: no beans, lots of jelly, and no tapioca. Unfortunately, he too, had to refer to Unilocal pictures since they can’t specifically make him that. I’ll definitely come back though, I’m curious to see what other mixed drinks they offer!

I love their Flan Pudding and Milk Tea. Banh Bong Lan Trung Muoi is also amazing except for the cost. Flan in Coconut Shell is my new favorite!

Today must be their off day. The cold dessert I had was not good at all. It didn’t even have the sweet rice that was normally added on after you order the«5-color dessert» For $ 5 you get a large cup. And they do accept credit card. Yay!

When I first enter the store the display is all Asian desserts I’ve never tried before, I’m always hesitant into trying new things but Asian desserts are always delicious! The flan was great, very sweet and bonus to macaron lovers, 6 macarons for $ 6 no tax! It didn’t really say the flavors of the macarons so I just assumed by colors. I loved all the macarons I ate except for the pink one which was a bit bitter.

This shop is a lot smaller than I expected. There are a few small tables but it looks like most people just grab and go. The choices are overwhelming! Their display of desserts look nice but I wonder how fresh the Che is; the case is full of prepackaged cups. They also have a lunch/dinner menu but we decided to try the combo tofu dessert and sam bo luong. It tasted fine but it’s a little pricey.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got to yesterday. I saw that the durian drink was popular here on Unilocal so I tried that out. It was so good. Tasted exactly like the fruit! But the service was a bit slow so minus one star for that. I’m definitely coming back for their other desserts :3

Small place in a Plaza. They have a Big menu board on the wall that had alot of desserts. It was a little overwhelming to look at. They should try to consolidate it a little. I went with the traditional Che 3 mau(3 color dessert). GF had the Che 5 mau which has different extra beans and other stuff. I didnt like the crush ice they used, cause it fused into a big iceblock and made it hard to break thru to get to the good stuff at the bottom. Found a piece of hair and my dessert, told the cashier and they made me another one. Hopefully if I ever come back, my experience can be a little better.

4 stars! I have been craving coconut-milked based desserts to tone down my cravings for South East Asian desserts and I was really glad I had a chance to try some desserts at Che Dessert Lounge this weekend. I had no idea this place was actually really close by and within the walking distance from Othello Sound Transit Link station, so I imagine it’s convenient, especially for those who commute regularly using the Sound Transit as well. This café isn’t upscale by any means and offers a large selection of dessert from slushes to coconut based milk desserts to flavored jelly cups, etc. We ordered the Che 5 Mau(coconut milk based desserts with assorted toppings for $ 5) and a 3-layer jelly cup($ 3ish) to share. The 3-layer jelly cup was refreshing. The passion fruit jelly on the top was suddle but still present and not overly sweet while the coconut jelly second layer was flavorful. We couldn’t tell what the last layer of the jelly(in pink color) was as the flavor was a bit faint, but my guess was it had some sort of light floral/fruity smell to it. Their Che 5 Mau was of a larger size and I was glad it wasn’t too overly sweet as well. What I like about the Che 5 Mau was their generous toppings. The toppings consisted of ground peanuts, sticky rice, clear and flour jellies, white/red beans and mung beans. They were fun to drink using a straw with the coconut milk and crushed ice that came with it. Overall, great spot to grab SEA/Vietnamese desserts. They have limited seats but still plenty of parking spots around. You can still grab your desserts in a cup/bowl to go, too.

Che Dessert Lounge is a good alternative to Bambu in the city. Their Che 5 Mau is huge and only $ 5. My only complaint was that the purple rice they put on top was stale/dried out. Everything else was good. They have a decent selection of desserts. Most of them are«unusual» and unheard of just because they’re not offered at your average Vietnamese restaurant or deli. They also have some cakes and baked goods. It’s a little out of the way, but it’s a great place to check out if you’re in the area.

I love this little shop. We have just recently been initiated into the Che experience by Unilocal friends and I am so thankful. We fell in love with Che Nam Mau, the Five Color Che. We have now tried Che Ba Ba, a delicious pudding with chunks of wonderful sweet potatoes. The menu is huge and we anticipate many, many visits trying new things for a very long time.

I see great potential for this place. However, it tries a little too hard to mimic the famous Bambu and falls dangerously short from replicating their success. I believe their greatest downfall will be their menu. First off, it’s entirely 100% Vietnamese. That drastically cuts down your potential customers. Second, there are no explanations to their menu. I came here with my mother, who grew up in Vietnam and even she didn’t know what was in majority of their items. So I defaulted to looking up a picture on Unilocal and ordering off of the Unilocal photos. I inadvertently picked«special tofu dessert» and they asked me if I wanted hot or cold. Well I’ve never heard of such a dessert before so I asked for their professional opinion. What I received was no opinion and if I «wanted it warm, then I should put it on the microwave». I sincerely hope that is not how they prepare this dessert to their other customers. But all that aside, the atmosphere is not the most inviting. This place is more of an order and go as fast as you can place. Granted, I’m fully aware Vietnamese restaurants /delis aren’t known for their customer service, but there is a lady dressed in what looked like a monks outfit preparing some food out in the customers space. Furthermore, the cashier’s iPhone dinged every few seconds. Completely distracting and takes away from the experience of getting a fun dessert. Next time, I’ll save my dessert calories for Bambu.

Che Dessert Lounge — NOWOPEN. I have been anticipating the opening of this location for some time. I see it every time I go to my favorite locations in and around that area(DDD’s hood and in CP’s vicinity*). Here is what they offer: 1) Fresh fruit juices $ 6 — pressed from real fruit: Orange, Lime, Mango, Watermelon, Papaya, Grapefruit, Honeydew, Passionfruit, Tomato and Carrot, Pineapple, Strawberry, and Cantaloupe. 2) Healthy Custom Smoothies $ 7 — a blend of fruit and vegetables that are good for you. 3) Regular Smoothies/Slushes $ 5 — Fruit mixes… 4) Vietnamese Coffee $ 2.50 with or without milk 5) Coffee Frappuccinos $ 4– different blends of coffees in an icy cold form, think Starbucks. 6) Milk $ 3 — a jar of homemade Soybean, Green Bean Soybean and Corn Milk. 7) Tea $ 3 — hot or cold teas and lattes. They also have herb tea(pennywort) for $ 2. 8) Soda mix $ 5 — unique mixes of flavors with soda… kind of like an enhanced Italian soda 9) Pastries — a variety of mini eclairs, macarons, puff pastries, cakes and sweets at varying prices in the glass display case. 10) Che — how can I forget what their main focus is? The different varieties of traditional Vietnamese desserts, most of which are $ 3.50 for the regular kinds and $ 5 for the«premium» specials they offer. 11) Other — they also sell the«Vietnamese» burger, papaya salad, flan, etc. My initial visit was short and here are my observations, mostly applicable for new businesses like this one: a) the dining room area could use a designer to help maximize the use of space and provide additional seating for guests. b) wall décor should be added for more appeal, i.e. look and feel. c) translations in English for non-Vietnamese folks can help patrons better determine what to get and understand the dessert offerings. d) free WiFi — this is always a welcome feature essential for those coming in to enjoy desserts… logging into Facebook(where they can check in and get a free pennywort drink for a limited time). e) menu can and probably should be revised so that the traditional priced stuff are up top and premium priced items are on the bottom. This will eliminate any confusion on pricing and will visually flow better. Overall, I had the premium offerings — 5 color pudding dessert $ 5(Che 5 mau) and the Tofu Deluxe special $ 5(Tofu dac biet I think). The quality of the ingredients are high with good flavor. However, I ordered the homemade Soybean milk in a large jar $ 3 to go and I wasn’t a big fan compared to getting it at the store or local Tofu store. The owner stated they do not use any powders and use real fruit, a plus in my book. It is unclear at this point how their premium items will sell based on this higher pricing scheme. Time will tell. Final rating upon first visit: 3.7 stars. ________________ *DDD and CP knows what I am talking about.
