Best donut I’ve ever had. You will need to go multiple times to try the different donuts fillings. Definitely try the savory donuts. So good.

In trying to find Peruvian cuisine establishments before our trip to Peru this fall, we came across Carmelito’s in front of the surf shop on Shilshole. We were impressed with the graciousness of Maria and the time she took explaining how her alfajores were made(they are to die for) and we bought a quart of her chicha morada, a purple Peruvian corn-based refreshing beverage. We came back within days for a dozen of the alfajores and the chicha morada for a Peruvian-themed dinner with our friends we will be traveling with in Peru. Maria wrapped each alfajores individually!!! Can’t say enough in support of this small business. Maggie & Stan

If you’re looking for heaven on Earth, rest easy — you’ve found it! Although everything on the menu is delicious, the donuts are to live for. These light fluffy dough balls are of orgasmic proportions — plain jane or filled with nutella and strawberries. Maria is incredible, and sources high quality ingredients, making her epic creations super-charged with tastiness. If you don’t come check out this cute stand tucked away in Ballard, you are denying your tastebuds an experience of a lifetime. DOIT!

Super friendly owner, sorry there were card reader difficulties. I just had an alfajor today, which was pretty good, though unexpectedly peppered with granules of salt. I greatly appreciated that it was much less sweet than I expected, despite the coating of powdered sugar and the thick caramel filling. Will be back to try other items!

Stopped by for donuts and an alfajore. We had one Nutella strawberry and one with whipped cream and strawberries. The whipped cream donut was the winner! Nutella is always good, but the lightness of the whipped cream just went so much better with the airiness of the donut. It was filled to the brim — so good. The alfajore was also great. It was two short bread cookies with gooey caramel sandwiched in between and a dusting of powdered sugar on top. What’s not to like?

Can’t wait for this place to open back up this summer! My favorite are the alfajores but everything is delicious here. Great little Peruvian snack shop and nice to have the tasty treats and drink with a Paseos sandwich.

Get a treat from this spot post-SUP, or after a meal at Paseo next door… You’ll be stoked you did.

A well appointed Winnebago across the parking lot from Paseo; serves fantastic coffee, but more importantly, insanely good desserts — dulce de leche cake, whipped cream strawberry cake, and snoqualmie ice cream treats. The patio is a great place to decamp to after a Cuban sandwich next door, and the friendly and welcoming owners make it a preferred afternoon stop for me after spending time in the sun at Golden Gardens. We’re fortunate that they’ve planted themselves in the neighborhood.

Cute little spot right along the water. As a Los Angelean visiting, I’m glad I stopped by for some coffee. Prices were great and coffee was delicious. I was told that the almond milk is made by hand, which I wish I knew that before pouring cream in my Americans instead of the in-house almond milk. Regardless, I had a greater appreciation for this business. Not only do they offer coffee but they have an array of options; ice cream, fresh pressed juices, desserts, etc. I recommend stopping by sometime to anyone passing through.
