The only food from the Westlake food court that actually made me sick. Greasy and over-sauced.

Cajun & Grill is my regular go-to for good, cheap mall food. Growing up in Oregon, I used to eat at the old Jantzen Beach mall location with my parents typically at least once a month, and would, later in my life, stop in at the Lloyd Center and Pioneer Place locations fairly regularly. Point being, I’m a fan of the franchise — the bourbon chicken is amazing for what it is, the«cajun» potatoes are great, and the rice — especially the jambalaya rice, if there are any locations left that actually serve it — is awesome, especially when paired with the bourbon sauce. Having said that, though, this location falls flat on its face. The chicken is overcooked, the sauce is underrepresented and no offer is made to pour a bit over the rice(which is itself underwhelming), and the potatoes are bland compared to what you get at the other locations. Basically, as much as I hate to say it, don’t bother with this place. Next time I find myself in the Westlake Center I’ll be trying something else.

I found a baby roach in/on my corn and possibly may have ate one that was in my fried rice. Sucks because I eat there once in awhile. I showed the girl at the register and she quickly closed my container and grabbed the container out of my hands. She told her manager. I asked if I was getting anything like a refund or??? The manager quickly gave refunded my money. I was in so much shock because I’ve never found a cockroach in my food until today. I was shaking and disgusted.

For some reason, this place is quite inconsistent. I came here about 2 weeks and absolutely liked everything. I ordered bourbon chicken and lemon chicken(fried). Perfectly seasoned and cooked. I went yesterday and the same dishes were super salty. I don’t come here for service so I won’t rate that. They take credit card(Visa and Masters I believe).

For mall food all I care about is good service and food that tastes somwhat like its theme. I got the black pepper chicken and the burbon chicken. It was tasty, but average. Service was polite and efficient.

Cajun grill serves Asian inspired Cajun style fast food. I love it though! It’s a good greasy meal :) I got fried rice with bourbon chicken and«lemon chicken». The fried rice was great. The bourbon chicken was really salty for some reason but chargrilled very nicely. And the lemon chicken was really delicious. I would give it 4 stars but it seemed like the chickens had been sitting out for a little while.

This is the place to go for some great Chinese food with a Louisiana twist! The bourbon chicken is a must have and their chow mein has a light mix between sweet and salty. The competition around is fierce but this place stands out for sure.

The food is ok. It’s greasy Chinese fast food. There is absolutely nothing Cajun about it. The rice and noodles are both very average and only taste of oil and MSG. The bourbon chicken was not bad to taste but it was overcooked and dry. The pepper chicken was pretty tasty albeit a little too salty. Overall I’d say the food was just about average. I don’t think I’ll be going here again anytime soon.

So, it isn’t Cajun. It’s Asian food with a Cajun, something. Bourbon chicken is pretty good. Pepper beef is really good. Otherwise, there’s fried rice and noodles. No Tabasco, no sweet tea, they don’t even have Dr Pepper!

Near as I can tell, this is Chinese food with some Cajun sounding names. If you are looking for an actual Cajun experience in food, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Even though the Cajun & Grill at the food court of Westlake Mall is not marketed as Chinese food, it has a similar look and feel to a Panda Express, though it is a cut above in quality. It’s very hard to find a tasty meal for a decent price downtown, but here you can get Bourbon Chicken and Yakisoba noodles for just under $ 5 before tax. There are quite a number of other items the lady working behind the counter is more than happy to let you try, including, surprisingly(for a mall food court) seafood items with shrimp and fish.

Bourbon chicken and pepper chicken are both pretty good for mall food court fare, although the bourbon chicken can be really salty sometimes. I stay away from the red beans and rice because they always seem to be dried out. I go for white rice instead. Make sure they give you the veggies with the rice on the combo plates.
